He said it had been proven that there were many capable women who should be given the opportunity show their leadership qualities.

He added that in Malaysia, there were many qualified and capable women who should be given the opportunity to show their leadership qualities.

“They work equally as hard just like their male counterparts and deserved to be given the opportunity. And that is why we unanimously agree to field Datin Linda because she wants to continue serving the people who had given their full support to her late husband,” Musa said.

Musa also said the state BN would work very hard to ensure victory for Linda on November 4, 2010.

“With the support and cooperation of all BN component parties in Sandakan which would be working night and day, we will be victorious,” he said.

On BN’s preparations, Musa said the state BN had met and worked out the division of duties among them.

“I have assigned responsibilities to all division chiefs and elected representatives,” he added.

The Batu Sapi by-election was called following Edmund’s death in a road crash on October 9, 2010.

The by-election is a three-cornered fight between Linda, SAPP president Datuk Yong Teck Lee and Sabah PKR leader Ansari Abdullah.

The late Edmund first became Batu Sapi MP in the 2004 general election.

In 2008, he retained the seat after defeating independent candidate Chung Kwong Wing.

Edmund obtained 9,479 votes while Chung had 5,771 for a majority of 3,708 votes.

Datin Linda as expected won the Batu Sapi Parliamentary by-election polling on November 4th, 2010.

She received 9,773 votes, beating SAPP's President, Datuk Yong Teck Lee who only managed 2,031 votes and PKR's Ansaari Abdullah who pooled 3,414 votes.

Her majority votes of 6,359 votes are much bigger that her late husband's majority in the 2008 election.

  1. This Message goes to the people of Batu Sapi Sandakan. The voting day is fast approaching. In a few days time you will cast your vote weather to choose BN or Opposition. I beg you to vote with wisdom and not because of some other temporary factors like promises for development and so on but mostly any candidate will promise you development and no such thing as development because we need development.

Talking about development, we must ask ourselves what kind of development do we need. Do we need a development where the people will have to sacrifice their land and our Native Customary Lands (NCR) as well as our Sabahan pride?
We need this urgent matter to be solved ASAP and the candidate must promise to do it within 365days from the day she/he appointed.

We must get back what was once belong to us. We must cast our vote with our Sabahan future generation in mind. We should not vote just because there are promise about this and that.In other words please vote for a party that can bring what the people want and you know which party is it.... surely the government can bring more development compare with the opposition which like to spread "Zero-Zero Talk"

Sabah need more development compare with other country in Malaysia. Put away the bad words and support the government 100%. Time is the medicine and we are not willing to changes the tides unless you can swim..... Any person who can change the world in one days please step forward and don't be a chicken liken which like to scream a lot but nothing had been done yet.

To all Batu Sapi people, the power is in your hand. Make sure you use that power wisely. Take care and God Speed.
