Malaysian man who lived and died twice...
According to the 1967 James Bond movie, you only live twice.!!
And to a Malaysian man, Ng Ba Kia, he really lived and died twice in a span of 12 days, between 14th April 2011 to 26th April 2011!!!
According to The Star, a Malaysian daily, the 65-year-old Ng Ba Kia @ Ng Swee Hock was thought to be the first case of the rare Lazarus phenomenon in Malaysia.
Infact, he is the only known case of the Lazarus Phenomenon among Malaysia's 27.5 million population.
On April 14th, 2011, he died but lived again shortly after.
On that day, Ng Ba Kia ceased breathing and was declared dead by physicians after he was non-responsive to their 45-minute CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation) effort.
But two-and-a-half hours later, to everyone's surprise, he started breathing again.
His spontaneous 'resurrection' quickly became a hot topic in the nation of 27.5 million people.
On Tuesday morning, 26th April 2011, however, the man finally passed away in his Kampung Tok Elong home. His remains are slated for cremation on Saturday 30th April 2011.
The Lazarus phenomenon is extremely rare. Up to June 2009, only 38 cases have been reported in the entire world.
The phenomenon takes its name from Lazarus who, in the New Testament account, was miracously raised from the dead by Jesus, more than 2,000 years ago.
