Selena Gomez meets long time crush, Shia LaBeouf

Selena Gomez is the envy of millions of girls out there because she is Justin Bieber's gilfriend and they have been romantically together for quite sometimes now. The very sight of Bieber makes girls around the world scream hysterically and some also faints because they are awe-struck and star-struck.

However, even after successfully capturing Bieber's heart, Selena is actually admiring someone other than Bieber. And Selena met this guy that she admired in person, very recently in a surprise gimmick.


This is the cute and handsome guy that Selena Gomez admires, Shia LaBeouf. They were pictured together backstage in a television studio.



Should Justin Bieber be worried? His girlfriend Selena Gomez was star-struck after meeting Shia LaBeouf in person recently.

After meeting LaBeouf, Gomez posted a video on YouTube with an accompanying message that reads: "Best...Day...Ever."



The video showed her being tricked into meeting her long-time celebrity crush Shia LaBeouf backstage at a television studio. Her handlers told her she was about to meet her fans in a dressing room when the occupant turned out to be none other than the Transformers star.

Gomez, 18, went "Oh my gosh" and her first reaction was to turn around and rush out of the room.

A very sweet LaBeouf actually ran after her and said, "Hey, nice to meet you... Hey, how are you? How you doin'? Thanks for being so sweet to me. You're really sweet to me."

Blushing like a schoolgirl, Gomez sheepishly told the actor, "I admire you."

LaBeouf then held the teenager close to him as they posed for a few photos before parting ways.

Gomez was still trying to regain her composure after she's back in her room.

Dramatically fanning herself, she said weakly to her mum: "He's so cute... He's so handsome."

"I am so embarrassed. I walked right out," she added.

LaBeouf's publicist, Melissa Kates, later popped in and told Gomes not to be embarrassed by her reaction. "That's actually nice and refreshing to see somebody that genuin. Trust me, he likes it," she said.

Gomez has always made known of her crush on LaBeouf. Two years ago, before she became Bieber's girlfriend, she even shouted to reporters on a red carpet, "Let Shia know I'm available!"

Both are Disney alumni and Gomez once said that she wished to have a career like LaBeouf's.

So is there any chance between the duo? Well, like what Gomez's beau said: Never say never!

So will we see Bieber vs LaBeouf now??

In 2007 he was 12 years old and living in Stratford, Ontario, Canada with his single mother, Pattie Mallette. Mallette began posting videos of her son's musical performances on YouTube so that relatives could see him in action.

Bieber sang pop and R&B songs: Matchbox Twenty, Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys and others. And he was good, really good.

So good that strangers started watching his videos. Within months, his Internet following numbered in the thousands.

Late one night in 2007, Scooter Braun, an Atlanta-based promoter and music manager, was in bed surfing the Internet when he stumbled upon a grainy home video of Bieber belting out Aretha Franklin's "Respect.".

"It was such raw talent, my gut just went wild..Maybe I shouldn't tell people I watched videos of Justin Bieber in the middle of the night."



Two weeks later, he flew Bieber and his mother to Atlanta and became his manager.

Braun and Bieber spent the next six months strategically building a fan base. Bieber would post new songs on YouTube, respond to messages from fans and interact with them.

He was accessible, he addressed his fans by name and talked to them as if they were friends. Even now, with 2.2 million Twitter followers, he frequently responds to fans' questions and retweets their greetings. "I also try to read all of my fan mail," he says. "A lot of them send me candy, which I'm not allowed to eat 'cause my mom says it might be poisonous."

Now, more than 100 million people watched his music videos on YouTube.



He even sang in front of President Barack Obama and the first lady - Michelle.

Prior to performing in front of the US President, Bieber - the YouTube singing sensation wrote on his Twitter "In DC preparing to sing for President OBAMA!!..Yeah im nervous. if i mess up he might deport me back to Canada. Lol." !!!!

Hahahahaaaa!! He has got very good sense of humour too..

Justin delivered a Christmas tune called "Someday at Christmas" during the gig. Host George Lopez introduced his performance saying, "Like you, Mr. President, this young man has many fans trying to shake his hand without permission."!!!




The Obamas even took pictures with him.



However, record labels don't like to take chances, especially an untested teenage act. "They kept telling me, He's not backed by Disney. He doesn't have a TV show. He's a nobody," says Braun.

But among other artists, Bieber's sheer talent quickly spread. Justin Timberlake wanted to work with him. So did Usher. "He sang and played the guitar for me, and I was like, Wow, this kid has even more talent than I did at that age," he says.
