The celebrations were truly in One Malaysia spirit as people of all races thronged their friends open house as well as those hosted by dignitaries.

Many Muslims here had returned to their hometowns and villages to celebrate the festival, leaving many major towns in Malaysia such as Kuala Lumpur, deserted and vacant.

However those who stayed back attended prayers in the city and held open house as well.
