Datuk Rosnah Shirlin berates Nik Aziz for asking Non Muslims to accept Islamic State Agenda

PRESS STATEMENT BY YB DATUK ROSNAH ABDUL RASHID SHIRLIN, MALAYSIAN DEPUTY MINISTER OF HEALTH AND HEAD OF THE UMNO’S YOUNG WOMEN’S WING ON MURSYIDUL AM PAS NIK AZIZ’S COMMENT ASKING NON-MUSLIMS TO ACCEPT ISLAMIC STATE AGENDA IF PAKATAN WINS THE 13TH GENERAL ELECTIONS.

Nik Aziz Nik Mat

The statement made by Mursyidul AM PAS Nik Aziz asking Non-Muslims to accept an Islamic State Agenda if Pakatan wins the next General Election is mind boggling in my opinion. How would Nik Aziz define an Islamic State Agenda? In one part Nik Aziz claims that the current secular government (in his definition) should be replaced by an Islamic administration and only political parties that embrace Islam in their struggle were safe in this world and hereafter however in another part PAS works with DAP. This statement alone proves that PAS is contradicting itself.

Having said that, I strongly believe that PAS is practicising double standards when creating rules as well as policies to suit itself. PAS conveniently uses Islam when it suits them and as an excuse to impose self thought up ideas. I feel that the statement made by Nik Aziz is very one sided, biased and unfair. Malaysia is a multi-racial country therefore All Malaysians has the right to practice their own religion freely. Even in Islam we are taught not to force anyone to follow our beliefs. This is clearly stated in the Quran.

Nik Aziz’s statement clearly shows that the opposition does not think of the well being of ALL Malaysians and it would be a disaster if they were to form the ruling government after the next General Election. It also shows that the current alliance between PAS, PKR and DAP is a mere mockery and would create a lot of problems should they win the next General Election as all parties have very different ideologies so therefore how would they govern? Which ideologies would Pakatan impose?

Whenever Pakatan Rakyat sweeps under the carpet an issue which could damage its electoral fortunes, someone somewhere invariably does something like this to drag that issue back into view. It makes a mockery of any claims which Anwar Ibrahim makes about inter-party solidarity. Now Nik Aziz has reminded us how PAS pretends to be friends with DAP, given that it is only ever a heartbeat away from showing its contempt for DAP. Nik Aziz has given us a reminder – yet again – that DAP and PAS can’t work together and any words we are told about “common ground” are invariably proven to be false within days of being floated in front of unsuspecting voters. “Trouble in paradise” I believe is the most fitting term for the current Pakatan Rakyat Coalition.

Well to me, All the Best to Rosnah and Nik Aziz in this coming general election.
