50 years ago, it was unthinkable for an average American that someday an African American man will someday become the President of the United States. Now the elevation of Barack Obama as the first black US President, erased the doubts.

50 years ago, it was unthinkable for an average American that someday an Arab girl will someday become Miss USA. Now the crowing of Rima Fakih as Miss USA 2010 erased the doubts.

Who can imagine that Rima who is of Arab Lebanese origin, be crowned Miss USA?

Rima Fakih, 24, represented the state of Michigan and become the first ever Arab-American to ever win the title as Miss USA since the beauty pageant extravaganza started in 1952.

Rima Fakih, a Lebanese immigrant, told pageant organizers her family celebrates both Muslim and Christian faiths. She moved to the United States as a baby and was raised in New York, where she attended a Catholic school. Her family moved to Michigan in 2003.


As a result of Rima's victory in the Miss USA pagent, Michigan has now provided two "firsts" in beauty pageant history - the first African American Miss USA, and now the first Arab-American and Muslim-American Miss USA as well.

Rima Fakih attended a Catholic school in New York and her family often celebrates both Muslim and Christian faiths.

She is a graduate the University of Michigan-Dearborn with degrees in economics and business management.She plans to begin law school after her year-long reign.

Does she have a boyfriend?? I don't know...!!!

But i think President Barack Obama would have been proud of Rima Fakih achievement.
