Kata kata akhir Che Guevara sebelum ditembak berbunyi seperti berikut : "I know you've come to kill me. Shoot, coward! You are only going to kill a man!"

Terima kasih kerana membaca...

Maradona fracas with the German fans after the 0-4 world cup 2010 humiliation at the hands of the Germans!!

This is the scenic view of the Table Mountain, in Cape Town, the icon of South Africa. Cape Town is also the city where Diego Maradona's and his boys were heartbroken after the crushing 0-4 defeat against Germany at the quarter final stage of the 2010 World Cup, held at the Green Point Stadium, Cape Town.

The 2010 World Cup champion will now be decided between the 2 times finalist at the 1974 and 1978 world cup - The Netherlands, 2008 European champion Spain, World Cup1930 and 1950 winner Uruguay and 3 times World Cup Champion (1954, 1974 and 1990)Germany.

The match ended unexpectedly with a 4-0 drubbing by Germany against the hapless Argentina. Seen here, Germany striker Miroslav Klose, scoring Germany 2nd goal in 68th minute of the second half. Klose later scored his 2nd goal of the night at the 89th minute for Germany's 4th goal.

On 3rd July 2010, Germany inflicted Argentina biggest ever loss in a World Cup match. The 4-0 drubbing of Diego Maradona's boys at the hands of the Germans, was totally unexpected. Billions of people around the world expected Argentina to give a very tough fight against the mighty Germans. In the end, it was "Don't cry for me Argentina".

Matches at any level pitting the 3 times world chamipons Germany against 2 times World Champion Argentina were always explosive.

These two teams have met at the World Cup final twice in 1986 and 4 years later in 1990.

In the 1986 final held at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico, Diego Maradona's team prevailed, winning 3-2 to lift the World Cup for the 2nd times after their first triumph in the Mario Kempes inspired team of 1978.

However Germany avenged that painful defeat by inflicting a 1-0 loss against Maradona and co in the 1990 world cup final in Rome, Italy. A sole penalty goal by Andreas Brehme, allowed Germany to lift the coveted and prestigious trophy for the 3rd time.

Both teams also fought it out at the same quarter final level at the 2006 World Cup in Germany where the home team once again prevailed. Germany won the penalty shoot out after the match ended 1-1 after extra time.

Before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Germany actually lost 0-1 to Argentina in a pre world cup friendly match held at the Allianz Arena in Munich on

However, last night on 3rd July 2010, Germany played differently and superbly, their splendid passes and game strategy worked out magnificently and perfectly and caused endless havoc at the hearts of the Argentine defence from the 1st minute till the 90th minute.

The Argentina defence failed to contain the relentless German attack, conceeding a goal as early as the 3rd minutes, courtesy of a Bastian Schweinsteiger free kick, headed by Thomas Muller from close range, leaving Argentine long haired 6 foot 5 inches goalkeeper, Sergio Romero no chance at all.

A Miroslav Klose double goals in the 68th and 89th minute as well as Arne Friedrich 1st goal for Germany in 77 matches in the 74th minute, sealed Argentina's fate with a 4-0 drubbing.

This was a scene after Argentina's worst ever defeat in a World Cup Match, the 0-4 humiliation by the Germans at the Argentina's coach - the legendary Diego Armando Maradona seen in a fracas with the Germans who celebrated too close behind the Argentine bench. Diego has to be calmed by his daughter, Dalma.

This made in German banner which reads "Bye, Maradona" also further incensed the already crushed and heart broken Argentine legend.

In the 0-4 loss, Argentine playmaker and 2009/2010 World and European footballer of the year, Lionel Messi failed to shine. He occasionaly threatened the rock solid German defence but to no avail. Sadly, Messi leaves this 2010 World Cup without scoring a goal, however his many defence splitting passes has helped Argentina to progress into the quarter final, defeating Nigeria, South Korea, Greece and Mexico in the process.

"Messi is my Maradona," said Maradona himself, as the head coach of the Argentine national team.

Martin Palermo dubbed the Joker for missing 3 penalties in a match against Colombia in the 1999 Copa America, thus infamously earning him a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for missing three penalties for Argentina in a single international match. The first penalty rebounded off the crossbar; the second penalty went over; the third was saved by the Colombian goalkeeper, Miguel Calero. Though his international career seemed to be over at the end of his magnificent career, Palermo late goal in a crucial 2010 World Cup qualifier with Paraguay, secured his place in this Argentina squad, with boss Diego Maradona hailing him as 'Saint Martin' after that game.

Argentina's forward Diego Milito's 2 goals for Inter Milan against Bayern Munich en route to winning the Champions League on May 2010, was not enough to earn him a first team place. Milito did not feature in the 0-4 demoliton of Argentina by Germany in the 2010 World Cup quarter final at Cape Town.

Last but not least, I join millions of frustrated Argentina fans around the globes and other galaxies as well, in singing this heart broken song.

Lionel Messi snores a lot

Lionel Messi - the Argentine prodigy (left) with Juan Veron

The World Cup 2010 is starting soon. Apart from top stories like Brazil and Argentina as the likely champion of the world in this World Cup edition, funny stories about the players, also surfaced.

Recently, media reported that Argentine soccer prodigy and 2009 European and world player of the year - Lionel Messi snores a lot whenever he sleeps. Well Messi shares the same habit like me!!!

And according to his teamates including Juan Sebastian Veron, any person who sleeps in the same room with Messi will be in a mess and will wake up messy in the morning.

Messi's snored like maybe the sound of a Grass cutter or even the sound of a roaring Superhornet jet fighter!!

But who cares, as long as Messi scored 10 or 20 goals in this world cup, we humanbeings as well as the extra terrestials UFOs will be entertained.

Viva Argentina.. But my heart will be for Brazil forever!!!

Brazil will be champion of world Cup 2010!!!

In Memory, Halim Abdul Hamid - First Malaysian to officiate a FIFA World Cup match

The first Malaysian to ever officiate a FIFA World Cup match, has passed away on Thursday, 27 August 2009, during the holy month of Ramadhan.

The demise of world-class football referee Captain (Retired) Halim Abdul Hamid is a great loss to the football refereeing fraternity in Malaysia and Asia.

Halim made history as the first Malaysian to be appointed by the world football governing body (FIFA) as Assistant Referee at the 1998 World Cup in France.

Halim was assistant referee in the highly anticipated match between England and Argentina in the 2nd round of the 1998 World Cup.

The highly charged and conroversial match ended 2-2 but Argentina went on to the next round after winning the subsequent penalty kicks 4-3.

The match was best remembered for 2 iconic occassions - a red card against David Beckham for a deliberate foul on Diego Simone and a Michael Owen wonder goal. Michael was only 18 at that time.

After England's exit from the 1998 World Cup, Beckham was a constant victim of criticisms and hatred by the diehard English fans.

He was singled out as the cause of England's premature exit from the competition.

It took Beckham 4 years to heal the wound - he scored a decisive penalty against Argentina again at the 2002 World Cup in Japan/Korea.

Well, back to Halim Abdul Hamid story.

The Kangar-born referee died at 9.25pm on Thursday, after losing the battle with lung infection at the Tuanku Fauziah Hospital.

He is survived by widow Wan Manira Wan Mustafa, 47, and their four children aged between nine and 16.

Meanwhile, Wan Manira said she accepted Halim's demise as fated although life would not be the same without her husband.

"He had a very strong determination and was always far-sighted. He always wanted to become a world-class referee and worked hard to achieve that," she said.

Also paying their last respects were Kangar Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad, and other referees.

Halim was laid to rest at the Tok Peduka Muslim cemetery after Friday prayers.

Rest in Peace sir, God Bless your soul.

Here in this video, the late Halim can be seen at 00.30 onwards, leading the 2 opposing players of the giants of World Football - England's top striker Alan Shearer and Argentine's top goal poacher - Gabriel Batistuta can be seen behind Halim.

Diego Maradona will not like this...

Argentine football legend, Diego Armando Maradona, will not like this news report.

The Guardian today reported that substantial amount of international tourists have cancelled their trips to Argentina as swine flu death toll in that country, reached 137, making Argentina the 2nd worst hit in terms of the virus fatality, behind the United States.

Currently there are 211 deaths, caused by the pandemic in the USA.

In Argentina, travel agents and airlines have reported a sharp drop in business amid concern that the death toll will continue to rise during the rest of the southern hemisphere's winter.

An unfamiliar quiet has descended over some of Buenos Aires's tourist quarters, with many restaurants and theatres closed or deserted. Ski resorts such as Bariloche, which are normally packed at this time, have rooms to spare. Hotels, restaurants, and shops said they were losing around US$150 million (£95m) weekly.

The vice president of Spain, Maria Teresa Fernández de la Vega, has decided to bypass Argentina on a forthcoming South America tour, reportedly because of the A (H1N1) virus.

The Brazilian airline GOL cancelled some chartered flights to its neighbour after passengers numbers dropped by half. Brazil's government has advised against travel to Argentina and Chile, also badly hit. Some travel agents have reported a 50 percent drop in travelers.

The British Foreign Office updated its travel advice to warn that Buenos Aires and 17 provinces had declared a health emergency. It does not urge Britons to stay away but is not exactly encouraging.

The authorities hope recent temporary restrictions will curb the epidemic. Schools, universities, cinemas, theatres, and gymnasiums were closed and pregnant women and children were among those urged to stay indoors.

The Catholic church urged worshippers to sit far apart, to avoid handshakes, and to take the communion wafer in their hands rather than directly on the tongue. Doctors urged people to not greet each other with a kiss and to not share mate, a herbal drink traditionally drunk from a straw and passed between friends.

The government said yesterday the worst may be over. The numbers reporting flu symptoms has reportedly halved in recent days. Theatres, which were shut for the past 10 days, said they would reopen this weekend but appealed to the sick to stay away.

I wonder wether the football stadiums across Argentina will also see a drastic drop in fans attendance??

I used to watch over the TV, football stadiums in Argentina are always jam packed whenever top teams in the Argentine league are playing.

Top teams include Independiente, Boca Juniors, Argentinos Juniors and River Plate - these 4 are like Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and my all time favourite - Liverpool in the English Premier League.

Say no to H1N1, say yes to Liverpool and Diego Armando Maradona.
