Thiery Henry handball incident - it is time to use video technology

Ireland branded Thierry Henry as "Le Cheat"!!!! Why?? Because Thierry Henry handled the ball before passing the ball to William Gallas for a 2-1 aggregate victory to send France to the 2010 World Cup Final in South Africa, at the expense of Ireland.

Yes... the traditional luck of the Irish, deserted them that day..

Well, in the highly charged match, the incident happened in split seconds - less than 0.001 seconds - impossible for the referee to see...... but it could have been a different story, if video technology was used...

French football great - Michael Platini said, the use of video technology will kill the game... But i would like to ask Platini - without the use of video technology, the referees will kill the games... How many high level matches had ended up like this??

If video technology was used - the 1986 World Cup winner would not have been Argentina.... Everybody saw Diego Maradonna used his hand to score the 1st goal for Argentina against England in the quarter final of the 1986 tournament... yet the referee was blind...!!!! Maradonna went on to single handedly guided Argentina to lift the 1986 World Cup.. with a 3-2 victory over West Germany in the final.



If video techonology was used, the 1966 World Cup winner would have been West Germany and not England... The match ended 4-2 in favour of England with Geoff Hurst scoring a hattrick.

But after 43 years, Hurst 3rd goal was still disputed till this day....!!

A study conducted by the Engineering Department at Oxford University concluded that the ball did not cross the line entirely and that it was 6 cms away from being a goal.

And finally, if video technology was used - Ireland would have qualified to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and not France...

Thierry Henry November 2009 handball was worse than Diego Maradonna infamous 1986 hand of God, handball goal.. For Maradonna only handled the ball once but Henry handled the ball TWICE...

Thierry Henry, what is wrong with you??? You have won everything the world football has to offer.. you name it - the World Cup, the Euro, the English Premier League, The La Liga Spanish League, the UEFA Champions League... Henry has won it all...!!!!

With France, Henry won the 1998 World Cup (France beat Brazil 3-0 in the final) and the Euro 2000 (France 2-1 Italy in the final).

With Arsenal, Henry won the Barclay's English Premier League title, twice.

With his current club, Barcelona - Henry won the 2008/2009 UEFA Champions League, beating Manchester United 2-0 as well as the Spanish La Liga title that year...

Finally, to FIFA, please use video technology..... no man can spot a handball or fouls committed in 0.0000001 seconds!!!!

Argentine football legend, Diego Armando Maradona, will not like this news report.

The Guardian today reported that substantial amount of international tourists have cancelled their trips to Argentina as swine flu death toll in that country, reached 137, making Argentina the 2nd worst hit in terms of the virus fatality, behind the United States.

Currently there are 211 deaths, caused by the pandemic in the USA.

In Argentina, travel agents and airlines have reported a sharp drop in business amid concern that the death toll will continue to rise during the rest of the southern hemisphere's winter.

An unfamiliar quiet has descended over some of Buenos Aires's tourist quarters, with many restaurants and theatres closed or deserted. Ski resorts such as Bariloche, which are normally packed at this time, have rooms to spare. Hotels, restaurants, and shops said they were losing around US$150 million (£95m) weekly.

The vice president of Spain, Maria Teresa Fernández de la Vega, has decided to bypass Argentina on a forthcoming South America tour, reportedly because of the A (H1N1) virus.

The Brazilian airline GOL cancelled some chartered flights to its neighbour after passengers numbers dropped by half. Brazil's government has advised against travel to Argentina and Chile, also badly hit. Some travel agents have reported a 50 percent drop in travelers.

The British Foreign Office updated its travel advice to warn that Buenos Aires and 17 provinces had declared a health emergency. It does not urge Britons to stay away but is not exactly encouraging.

The authorities hope recent temporary restrictions will curb the epidemic. Schools, universities, cinemas, theatres, and gymnasiums were closed and pregnant women and children were among those urged to stay indoors.

The Catholic church urged worshippers to sit far apart, to avoid handshakes, and to take the communion wafer in their hands rather than directly on the tongue. Doctors urged people to not greet each other with a kiss and to not share mate, a herbal drink traditionally drunk from a straw and passed between friends.

The government said yesterday the worst may be over. The numbers reporting flu symptoms has reportedly halved in recent days. Theatres, which were shut for the past 10 days, said they would reopen this weekend but appealed to the sick to stay away.

I wonder wether the football stadiums across Argentina will also see a drastic drop in fans attendance??

I used to watch over the TV, football stadiums in Argentina are always jam packed whenever top teams in the Argentine league are playing.

Top teams include Independiente, Boca Juniors, Argentinos Juniors and River Plate - these 4 are like Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and my all time favourite - Liverpool in the English Premier League.

Say no to H1N1, say yes to Liverpool and Diego Armando Maradona.

Who is Ali bin Nasser ?

Ali Bin Nasser (born 2 March 1944) is a former Tunisian football referee.
He is probably best known for allowing the crucial Hand of God goal scored by Diego Maradona of Argentina versus England in the quarterfinals of the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. Despite the ball being punched into the net, a move illegal in football, Bin Nasser allowed the goal. He would later claim in some interviews that it was due to a latent haemorrhoidal condition and the treatment he was receiving that caused his farsight vision to be somewhat unfocused.


Infact the whole world saw that Maradonna used his hand to punch the ball in.. but Ali bin Nasser never saw it because he is "blind".



And as for Bush, he justified his invasion of Iraq or the 2nd Gulf War in 2003, saying that he wanted to get rid the country of Weapon of Mass Destructions or WMD. In the end, after 5 years of invasion and occupation of Iraq that left thousands of innocent Iraqi dead, there are still no sign of the much sought after WMD. Infact there is no single WMD found in Iraqi soil until now.

But yet, Bush is blind.... people all over the world know that there is no WMD in Iraq except maybe a handful of Scud and Al Samoud II missiles that has all been destroyed.. Even the UNited Nations concluded the fact.

But... Yes George W. Bush is blind and thus he deserved the size 10 shoes thrown at him. It is appropriate for the crime he commits against humanity in Iraq, Afghanistan etc.
