MANCHESTER CITY DEFEATS QPR IN DRAMATIC STYLE TO CAPTURE EPL TITLE IN 44 YEARS

It was the most dramatic, unbelievable and extraordinary finish of the English Premier League.

In the end, Roberto Mancini and Manchester City celebrates non-stop till morning and Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United, cried all night long.

Manchester City won their first English league title in 44 years on Sunday, 13th May 2012 as they scored twice in injury time to beat Queens Park Rangers 3-2, edging out Manchester United on goal difference.

United thought they had won a record 20th title when they won 1-0 at Sunderland but Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero scored in the five minutes added on as City came from 2-1 down to snatch victory and their first English crown since 1968.

It was the most dramatic finish in Premier League history as big-spending City took the title from neighbours and rivals United.

City led on goal difference going into the final day but when they trailed 2-1 at home by 10-man Queens Park Rangers, it looked as if their dreams were evaporating.

But Dzeko equalised in the first of five minutes of injury time and then Aguero sent the City fans wild with a brilliant winner from short range just over a minute from the end.

Aguero's winner meant that Wayne Rooney's 20th-minute goal for United in their 1-0 win at Sunderland was not enough.

With Bolton drawing 2-2 at Stoke, the results meant that they joined Wolves and Blackburn Rovers in being relegated while QPR survived.

City began the day leading on goal difference, knowing they just needed to match United's result to win the league for the first time in 44 years.

When a goalkeeping error handed Pablo Zabaleta the opening goal on 39 minutes, they were on track but a terrible mistake from Joleon Lescott allowed Djibril Cisse to equalise three minutes into the second half.

City's chances were boosted again when Joey Barton was sent off for an off-the-ball incident involving Carlos Tevez, lashing out at Aguero as well after receiving his red card.

But as City chased the winner, they were undone by more slack defending as unmarked Jamie Mackie headed in for QPR on 66 minutes.

As City threw everything at QPR, manager Roberto Mancini brought on Mario Balotelli for Tevez with 15 minutes to go.

The Italian headed a chance to equalise straight at Paddy Kenny but Edin Dzeko gave them hope when he headed in a David Silva corner in the first minute of injury time.

And with the seconds ticking down, Aguero kept his head in the box to fire in the winner - and City fans, many of them crying, poured onto the field as the final whistle sounded over the third title overall, following 1937 and 1968.

In the battle for the two remaining Champions League places, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur finished third and fourth after respective wins on the final day.

Arsenal came from 2-1 down to win 3-2 at West Brom to finish third, while Tottenham's 2-0 win over Fulham left them fourth.

Ferguson rues 'worst ever day'

After the 1-6 humiliating defeat by Manchester City, Sir Alex Ferguson says the match was the "worst result in my history".

Manchester City, the Barclays Premier League leaders, stormed into Old Trafford on Sunday, 23rd October 2011 to rout their 10-man rivals 6-1 and send out an ominous warning to their title rivals.

It was United's heaviest derby defeat since 1926, their first loss at home in 18 months and left them trailing City by five points in the table.

For the record, United won the E.P.L a record 19 times.

Ferguson said: "It was our worst ever day. It's the worst result in my history, ever. Even as a player I don't think I ever lost 6-1. That's a challenge for me too.

"I can't believe the scoreline. The first goal was a blow for sure but it was retrievable at 1-0.

"The sending off was a killer for us. We kept attacking when we went 4-1 down and we should have just said, 'We've had our day'."

City striker Mario Balotelli began the rout with a first-half opener.

He was then the man fouled as Jonny Evans earned a straight red card and added a second before Sergio Aguero slid in the third.

Darren Fletcher pulled one back but Edin Dzeko came off the bench to score twice as City ran their hosts ragged in the closing minutes with David Silva also hitting the target.

Ferguson added: "We just kept attacking. They were attacking three versus two. It was crazy football.

"I thought with the experience we've got - Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra - they would (have defended more) but we just kept attacking. Sometimes there has to be common sense about it. It was a bad day."

If Manchester City can beat Manchester United 6-1 at Old Trafford, then Manchester City can easily beat other super teams such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Bayern Munich by huge margins at their opponents' own backyard.

After Steven Gerrard, It's Robinho.... ooolalalala

It looks like the start of 2009 is not plain smooth sailing for some of the world top footballers in the English Premier League..

Apart from dazzling millions of people worldwide with their sublime football skills, their antics outside the pitch also never fail to mesmerize us.

First, to hit the headlines was Liverpool and England midfielder, Steven Gerrard who has been capped by England 70 times and capped by Liverpool more than 560 times since his debut at the Merseyside club in November 1998.

Gerrard is a well respected footballer for he has captained his country 4 times and was made an MBE or Member of the British Empire in 2007.

On 23 January 2009, Gerrard was brought to a Magistrate Court in Merseyside on charges of causing actual bodily harm and affray to a 34 year old man at the Lounge Inn nightclub in Southport on 29 December 2008.

However Gerrard denied any wrongdoings.

Instead he told the court that he will plead not guilty when his case is heard in the next hearing scheduled on March 20.

Affray means fighting in a public place, and actual bodily harm means seriously hurting someone.

Two other men were also at the Magistrates' Court with Gerrard, facing the same charges.

They said they will plead not guilty as well.

The 34-year-old man had to go to hospital for injuries to his face.

But, as a hardcore and diehard Liverpool fan, I truly believe that Gerrard is innocent….

Maybe the perpetrator of the incident is a rival club fan – and he did that on purpose.

He initiated the attack by maybe verbally taunt or physically attack Gerrard – to make sure the midfield maestro lands into trouble and thus affecting Liverpool quest to become champion of the English Premier Leauge this season….

After Gerrard, it was Robinho – the sensation from Brazil – Manchester City’s topstriker who hit the headlines with negative reports as well.

When Robinho first played in Spain with Real Madrid, he was rarely into troubles.

But barely 5 months since his British record 32.5 million pound high profile transfer to Manchester City, Robinho has hit the ugly headlines twice in a space of 7 days.

On 19 January, he stunned his team-mates and fans, when he was absent from Manchester City training camp in Tenerife.

His reason was – he had an urgent family matters to settle and he had to fly all the way to Brazil.
Ok.. Reason accepted but Manchester City is expected to fine him an estimated £200,000 (his fortnight wages) - as punishment.

But then today, 28 January 2009, Robinho hits the headlines again for his off the field antics, this time more shockingly...

This latest incident reportedly happened at a night club in Leeds – again night clubs seems to be the root of all evils…!!!! Hahaha

This time, he was arrested by police over allegation of “sexual assault” or rape.

The rape is alleged to have happened in the early hours of January 14, in the VIP area of the Space nightclub.

It was reported to police that afternoon.

Robinho reportedly had gone to Leeds with team-mates for a night out.

The girl, a student at a Yorkshire university but from the south of England, was with pals.

The two-room venue holds around 800 people and is popular with soccer stars.

The 25 year old Brazilian international, whose real name is Robson de Souza, "strenuously denied any allegation of wrongdoing and is willing to co-operate with the police if further required".

He had been released on bail.

City are due to host Newcastle in the Premier League tonight.

A source said: “He will be back training as normal and is expected to play.”

Manchester City refused to comment so far.

Gee Robinho…. You don’t have to do that…. Millions of female fans all over the world are crazy about you…. even tough your status are known to them- you are married with one kid.
