H1NI, first alert in Sabah

In KOTA KINABALU, flu symptoms in an elderly Canadian tourist had sent Sabah health authorities into their first alert.

Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman said the 71-year-old man however tested negative for the virus after being quarantined overnight at a designated isolation centre in Kepayan. He was released on Thursday.

“Our health authorities will remain vigilant for those who could be infected by the virus,” he said after chairing the State Security Council meeting Thursday.

Musa, who had earlier been briefed by Sabah Health Department director Dr Marzukhi Md Isa, said the man had arrived on May 5 and after a week became ill and suffered from fever and a sore throat.

Musa said the Canadian visited a private medical clinic at Luyang on May 12 and the doctor there immediately alerted Health Department officials who took the man to the quarantine centre.

The man’s blood sample was sent to Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday and he was released early Thursday after the test showed a negative result for the virus.

In Kuala Lumpur, a man who misused cucumbers and brinjals while having sex with his wife is in trouble with the law.

The woman claimed that he had forced a cucumber or a brinjal into her private part at least seven times in the past six years ago, police sources told Harian Metro.

Apparently, the man, who is in his 40s, had erectile problems after an accident.

It is learnt that the man began abusing his wife, who is in her 30s, with the vegetables after he got the idea from watching pornographic videos.

“The victim suffered physical and mental anguish because of that. She had pleaded with her husband to stop his improper act,” a source said, adding that she was concerned about her health, besides the discomfort and pain.

The woman, who lives in Kajang, Kuala Lumpur, made a police report on Friday.

Is there any Halal Beer??

In Kuala Lumpur, the distributor of an Iranian halal non-alcoholic “beer” said that it had never used the term “beer” on their product.

Malaysian Iranian Corporation Sdn Bhd executive director Azizi Ahmad said his company realised that Muslims might be concerned about the term “beer” on the Iranian-made drink called Istak.

“Istak is actually a malt drink, which had received the halal certification from the Iranian government 10 years ago,” he told Utusan Malaysia.

He added that Iran was known to impose strict halal regulations on commercial products.

The paper had published concerns from several Islamic NGOs who disagreed with the usage of the term “beer” on the drink.

Azizi said his company had never issued brochures saying that the Istak drink was a “halal beer,” adding that he would contact the NGOs to clarify the matter.

In memory of Bob Marley who died 28 years ago

On May 11, 1981, Jamaican legendary reggae musician Bob Marley died of Cancer.

He was 36.

Marley played his final concert at the Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 23, 1980. The live version of "Redemption Song" on Songs of Freedom was recorded at this show.

Marley afterwards sought medical help from Munich specialist Josef Issels, who promoted a controversial type of cancer treatment, partly based on avoidance of certain foods, drinks and other substances. However, by this time his illness had already progressed to the terminal stage.

While flying home from Germany to Jamaica for his final days, Marley became ill, and landed in Miami for immediate medical attention. He died at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami, Florida on the morning of May 11, 1981, at the age of 36. The spread of melanoma to his lungs and brain caused his death.

His final words to his son Ziggy were "Money can't buy life."

Marley received a state funeral in Jamaica on May 21, 1981, which combined elements of Ethiopian Orthodoxy and Rastafari tradition. He was buried in a chapel near his birthplace with his Fender Stratocaster. A month before his death, he had also been awarded the Jamaican Order of Merit.

Marley was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.

Time magazine chose Bob Marley & The Wailers' Exodus as the greatest album of the 20th century.

In 2001, Marley was posthumously awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and a feature-length documentary about his life, Rebel Music, won various awards at the Grammys. With contributions from Rita, the Wailers, and Marley's lovers and children, it also tells much of the story in his own words.

In 2006, the State of New York renamed a portion of Church Avenue from Remsen Avenue to East 98th Street in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn "Bob Marley Boulevard".

Court declared Nizar Jamaluddin rightful Menteri Besar of Perak, BN to file appeal

Today, May 11 2009, Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar jubilates after the Kuala Lumpur High Court ruled that he is the rightful Menteri Besar of Perak.

Well, the big question on who is the rightful Menteri Besar of Perak, either Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir of the BN or Datuk Seri Mohhammad Nizar Jamaluddin of Pakatan Rakyat has been resolved by the High Court in Kuala Lumpur today.

The winner - Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin.

The next question is - will Nizar act to dissolve the Perak state legislative assembly to pave the way for a fresh state election in Perak after so much political turmoil in the state, including the chaotic May 7 state assemblu sitting??

KUALA LUMPUR: Barisan Nasional will appeal the High Court ruling on Monday that declared Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin as the rightful Perak Mentri Besar, and not Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir.

The appeal would be filed on Tuesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.

In the meantime, he urged the people of Perak to remain calm while "the situation is resolved."

Pakatan Rakyat is however adamant that there is no "situation."

“This is a great day for the rakyat (people) because the Law and the Constitution are the true winners,” Nizar said in a statement.

“It is a historic day for all who love democracy and it will be remembered for years and years to come. Its positive effects for revitalising parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy is tremendous,” he said.

He said that everyone from both sides of the political divide would benefit from this ruling “because an independent judiciary is absolutely essential for the well-being of any country and its people.”

Nizar said that all previous decisions made by the Dr Zambry administration would be subject to review but not invalidated except for the tumultous May 7 sitting.

He also suspended the state legal adviser with immediate effect.

Earlier, Zambry said he would apply for a stay pending appeal. This was immediately rejected by the court.

The court also ordered Zambry and the six executive councillors he had appointed to vacate their office.

An aide to Dr Zambry told the media that Perak Barisan Nasional will respect the court order and will vacate their offices at the state secretariat building immediately.

He added that Dr Zambry is on his way to Kuala Lumpur from Ipoh. Dr Zambry could not be reached for comment at press time.

Dr Zambry's private secretary Khairul Azwan Harun then asked the media to vacate the office, saying that their presence was "scaring off the staff."

By 5:30pm, several truckloads of Federal Reserve Unit personnel and police had arrived at the state secretariat building in Ipoh.

“Our presence is to maintain law and order,” said Perak CPO Deputy Comm Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah.

“We will not allow any illegal assembly or procession by either party,” he said.

Nizar left the KL courtroom saying he would seek an audience with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, to get his consent to dissolve the Assembly and call for fresh state elections.

He would make his request for the audience at a state function at the Istana Kuala Kangsar Tuesday morning.

In his ruling Monday, Justice Abdul Aziz Abd Rahim said that a new mentri besar could not be appointed as the office had not been vacated.

He said a mentri besar can only be dismissed by a vote of no confidence, and upheld the Stephen Kalong Ningkan ruling.

He noted that the Perak State Legislative Assembly had not held a vote of no confidence.

In 1966, Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Stephen Kalong Ningkan was ousted when the state governor showed him a letter of no confidence issued by 21 out of 42 legislators and asked Ningkan to resign.

Ningkan refused, saying the letters were not tantamount to a vote of no confidence in the state legislative assembly. He was sacked by the governor but eventually reinstated by the Borneo High Court, which saw the necessity of a formal vote of no confidence.

According to the Nutgraph, the judge ruled ruled that the governor can only dismiss the chief minister when both these conditions are satisfied:

(a) The chief minister has lost the confidence of the House, and

(b) The chief minister has refused to resign and failed to advise a dissolution.

Mixed reactions (no, really!)
Not all Barisan reps were ready to accept the court’s ruling. Perak senior executive councillor Datuk Hamidah Osman said in a democracy, the majority rules.

“How can Pakatan Rakyat rule without having a majority?” she said in IPOH. “Why should the State Assembly be dissolved?”

Perak DAP deputy chairman M. Kulasegaran said the KL High Court’s decision confirmed that the appointment of Dr Zambry as mentri besar was unconstitutional.

Kulasegaran, who is also Ipoh Barat MP, said the Perak State Assembly should now be dissolved and fresh elections be called.

“All this while during the political impasse, the people ended up being the biggest losing party.

“Investors are shying away from the state due to the uncertainty,” he added.

In KOTA BARU, Kelantan Mentri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said the court’s decision had “revived democracy in Perak that has been in a ‘coma’ for the past three months.”

In GEORGE TOWN, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng described the High Court’s decision “a glorious victory” for the people of Perak.

He said the DAP reiterates its call for the dissolution of the state assembly and the holding of fresh elections to allow the people to choose their own government.

“The verdict clearly shows that Mohammad Nizar and his state executive councillors are the rightful leaders of the state government,” he said.

Earlier, he had said that the Opposition was willing to work with anyone to resolve the crisis in Perak.

“The crisis has caused shame not only to the people of Perak but also the entire country. What is more shameful is that the police forcibly took over the state assembly.

“I think we should respect the power that emanates from the ballot box,” he said.

Perak crisis
The political impasse in Perak goes back more than three months when three assemblymen from Pakatan quit their parties, saying that they would remain independent but pledging their loyalty to Barisan.

While the state assembly was evenly divided between Pakatan and Barisan with 28 seats each, the "pledge of loyalty" was sufficient to convince the Sultan of Perak that Barisan commanded the majority.

He refused Nizar's request for the Assembly to be dissolved and for fresh state elections to be called, instead asking the PAS man to step down as mentri besar.

Nizar declined, claiming he still retained the confidence of the Assembly.

The Sultan however gave his blessings to Barisan's choice of mentri besar, Dr Zambry.

Nizar filed for a judicial review on Feb 13, seeking a declaration that he is the rightful mentri besar of Perak and asked for an injunction to bar Dr Zambry from discharging his duties as the mentri besar.

On March 6, Justice Lau Bee Lan had ruled that there were constitutional issues involving the interpretation of Article 16 (6) of the Perak Constitution and later referred four consitutional questions to the Federal Court for determination.

However, on March 23, the Federal Court ruled that the case of who the rightful mentri besar is should be heard by the High Court.

Nizar’s lead counsel Sulaiman Abdullah, in wrapping up his submissions last week, said the Constitution was the “genius of the Malaysian people”, adding that the court had a duty to uphold it. Over the last few days, he had submitted that the Sultan, while granted powers in the Perak Constitution to appoint a mentri besar, could not dismiss him.

The only way Nizar could be dismissed, he said, was through a vote of no-confidence in the House.

He also said that a mentri besar could request for the State Assembly to be dissolved in the middle of a term without losing the confidence of the majority of the House.

Dr Zambry’s lawyer Datuk Cecil Abraham, however, argued that Nizar went by Article 16(6) of the Perak Constitution when he sought an audience with the Sultan – this article specifically provides for the mentri besar to request for a dissolution when he has lost the confidence of the majority in the House.

Under the article, Nizar is required to tender the resignation of his executive councillors when his request was rejected, he said.

KUALA LUMPUR: Rank-and-file policemen will soon no longer have to lug around their old .38 Smith & Wesson revolvers.

The revolvers will soon be replaced by German-made Walther P99 9mm semi-automatic pistols as part of initiatives to upgrade the force.

It is understood that the first batch of 13,000 Walther P99 pistols was recently distributed to police contingents nationwide, with emphasis on Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Johor.

A police source said the four contingents were given priority due to the higher crime rates there.

It is learnt a second batch of Walther P99s is expected to arrive in Malaysia within the next two or three months.

"Presently, priority is given to policemen in the frontline such as those on beat or patrol duty.

"This also includes personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department and the Special Action Unit," the source revealed.

It is understood there are currently about 30,000 .38 Smith & Wesson revolvers being used by the force.

"A study was conducted about two years ago involving senior police officers and Home Ministry officials. The results of the study concluded that the Walther P99 was one of the best firearms in the market," the source revealed.

"Although the old .38 Smith & Wesson revolvers will be phased out, they will not be discarded as enforcement agencies in neighbouring countries are showing an interest in a possible trade-off."

Under the Ninth Malaysia Plan, the police were allocated a sum of RM6 billion.

The source disclosed that about RM145 million had been set aside for the purchase of firearms such as rifles, sub-machine guns and the Walther P99.

Federal Logistics Department director Datuk Mashuri Zainal told the New Straits Times that policemen in several European countries also used the Walther P99 as the standard issue firearm.

The P99 was developed by Carl Walther GmbH Sportwaffen for law enforcement, security forces and the civilian shooting market.

The pistol is presently used by the German police in North Rhine-Westphalia, the Polish police and the Finnish army's special forces and military police.

The hunt for Indonesian, Mas Selamat Kastari, 48, one of the region most wanted terrorists, began after the head of the Singapore Jemaah Islamiah, JI, escaped the maximum security Whitley Road Detention Centre in Singapore while on a toilet break on Feb 27, 2008.

This sparked a massive regional hunt for the militant who is suspected to have planned various terror plots, including crashing a plane into Changi airport in Singapore as well as attacking different targets, such as the American Embassy and the Singapore American School.

Described as highly dangerous, the 48-year-old Mas Selamat who was trained in firearms and explosives, was said to be masterminding “unrest” in several countries in the region.

The radical JI movement with key figures such as religious scholar Abu Bakar Basyir and Hambali was linked to Al-Qaeda led by Osama bin Laden. While Abu Bakar, who was jailed and then freed had denied any involvement in terrorist activities, Hambali is still being detained at the infamous Guatanamo Bay. The movement, which aimed to set up a Pan Islamic state comprising Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Thailand and the Philippines, was said to have carried out several bombings in Jakarta, Bali and Manila.

Hambali or Riduan Isamuddin is also known as the Osama bin Laden of South East Asia.

Hambali was arrested in a joint operation between the Thai police and the CIA on August 11, 2003 in his one bedroom apartment in Ayutthaya, 75 km north of Bangkok, Thailand.

Now back to Mas Selamat Kastari.

Regional intelligence sources said Mas Selamat, who escaped the maximum security detention centre by climbing out through the toilet window, fled to the northern part of Singapore before swimming across to Johor.

Mas Selamat managed the feat despite having leg injuries. He walked with a limp on his left leg prior to his escape.

On the day of his escape on Feb 27, 2008, Mas Selamat had asked to go to the toilet when family members visited him at the detention centre. He escaped via an unsecured window in the toilet before swimming more than 1 kilometre to Stulang, Johor.

His escape greatly embarrassed the Singa­pore Government which then launched a massive manhunt, described as the largest ever in the republic, for him.

Singapore also sought Interpol’s help and an urgent worldwide security alert was activated.

3 telecommunications companies in Singapore sent out MMS to its 5.5mil subscribers with Mas Selamat’s photo and describing him as short at 1.58m and limped on his left leg.

He was previously jailed in Bintan, Indonesia for using a fake identity card and was handed over to Singapore in 2006 for detention under the Internal Security Act without trial.

Mas Selamat has a S$1 Million Dollar or RM2.4 million Ringgit reward for his arrest.

However after 14 months on the run, Mas Selamat was arrested at a secluded village in Johor, Malaysia, near Singapore.

The fugitive militant found the perfect spot to hide - a secluded village in Johor unmarked on any map, not even Google Earth, making it extra hard for Interpol to detect and arrest him.

He found a traditional kampung house on stilts in Kampung Tawakal, a tiny village with a population of less than 100.

Located about 10km away from the North-South Expressway near the Kempas exit, it is almost impossible to locate for those not familiar with the area.

All around are oil palm trees and there are no signboards pointing to the village as one drives along the main road of Jalan Kampung Maju Jaya.

About 5km away sits the exclusive Starhill Golf and Country Club.

Tawakal villagers are still shocked that a fugitive, described as dangerous by the authorities, had been living in their midst.

According to some of them, Mas Selamat rarely left his house and when he did venture out, it was usually after dark. He would be dressed in a long white robe and white turban.

At times, he was seen gardening in the sprawling compound using a hoe.

“Sometimes we would call out Assalamualaikum (peace be upon you) to him, and he would reply. But nothing more,” said a 10-year old girl who declined to be named.

“He never spoke to anyone and kept to himself. And he never prayed at the local surau,’’ said Mohd Saat Marjo, 56, a villager who lived opposite the fugitive’s home.

Showed a picture of Mas Selamat published in The Star, he exclaimed: “Yes, yes, he’s the man who lived here!”

Villagers relived the moment one early April morning when police stormed the house he was living in and arrested the fugitive.

Mohd Saat recalled: “It was about 6am. About 30 armed policemen surrounded the kampung house and ordered Mas Selamat to come out.

“When he refused, they broke through two doors and rushed in,’’ he said, adding that it was like a scene out of the police TV serial, Gerak Khas.

Mohd Saat said villagers then saw Mas Selamat being led out with his face covered in a dark blue checked cloth before he was swiftly bundled into a police vehicle and taken away.

He said police were also seen combing the area with bomb detectors to ensure that the house was free of explosives.

A peek into the house Mas Selamat was living in showed that things were neat and tidy - except for an aquarium with dead fish floating in murky water. A punching bag hung in the living area.

The house is surrounded by mangosteen, guava, coconut and banana trees.

According to Mohd Saat, Mas Selamat occupied the basement of the house which had been refurbished.

He was believed to be renting the house from a man called Johar, who lived in the upper portion of the house with his wife and two young children.

Villagers said even Johar and his family were reclusive and did not get involved in village activities.

“They also never received any visitors,’’ said Mohd Saat.

Meanwhile, the landlord of the house where fugitive Mas Selamat Kastari was caught hiding in was arrested last week at his work place.

Villagers at Kampung Tawakal said the man, known as Johar, was a contractor.

They described him as the “quiet type,” just like Mas Selamat.

Many believed that it was Johar who had tipped off police about Mas Selamat’s whereabouts.

Villagers said that it was hard to keep track of people living in the area as many of the houses were rented out to tenants who kept moving out.

Shopkeeper Roslan Talib, 39, said Johar often came to buy groceries from his shop.

“I heard that Mas Selamat often went fishing at the canal behind his house,’’ he said.

Roslan said that it was a pity he did not know Mas Selamat lived nearby or they would have reported him to get the S$1mil (RM2.4mil) reward offered for his arrest.

Meanwhile Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has expressed his gratitude to Malaysia for arresting Mas Selamat Kastari, Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.

Lee also told Najib that he was glad the Malaysian authorities had managed to catch the Jemaah Islamiah leader after he escaped a maximum security detention centre in the republic on Feb 27 last year, and eluded a massive manhunt launched by the Singaporean authorities.

Najib said he would discuss the matter further with Lee during his visit to Singapore, scheduled for next week.

“I have mentioned the capture to (Lee) Hsien Loong when we talked in Pattaya (during the Asean + 3 meeting.) He is very happy and grateful that we have succeeded in apprehending Mas Selamat.

“He was planning a lot of things in Singapore. He escaped from Singapore and was hiding in Malaysia but his main focus was in Singapore,” he said, confirming that Mas Selamat had managed to slip into the country a few days after his escape.

Asked if Mas Selamat would now be repatriated to Singapore, Najib said he would have to consult the police on the matter.

Najib also congratulated the police for having successfully caught Mas Selamat, who is considered to be a threat to national security.

Quetzalcoatlus (named for the Aztec feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl) was a prehistoric flying animals in the jurrasic era.

It was one of the largest known flying animals of all time with an estimated wingspan of 10 metres or 33 feet.

Quetzalcoatlus was a member of the Azhdarchidae, a family of advanced toothless pterosaurs with unusually long, stiffened necks.

But does it exist in the modern era?? Well some claimed they had seen it.

In November 2007, three Chicago youths planned to go to a place called "the ditch" to make a skateboarding video of themselves, breaking into a restricted area of a national park to get there.

At first it was one boy, Paxton Reed, and his best friend Kevin Weller, but his friend brought along his little brother Cole, because he had "super crazy skills".

Cole soon had to go to the bathroom, and the two were left alone during the hike.

Something large suddenly swoopped down on them, and they were frightened.

The younger boy returned from his rest stop, and believed that the others were lying when they claimed that they saw a huge bird.

Later, however, they found a dead canine (possibly a dog, coyote, or fox), hanging from (or impaled by) a branch.

Disgusted at this sight (though naturally, being young boys, taking their time to poke it with a stick) they continued.

They made it to "the ditch" but Paxton scared Cole, causing him to fall and broke his leg.

The other two left to find help (though Paxton suggests that they leave him behind and go home) and they heard "the bird" from above.

Kevin suddenly got a call on his cellphone by his little brother on which they heared him scream followed by a bird screech.

They frantically headed to his location, but all they found was his skateboard and his helmet on the ground and his shoe hanging in a tree.

In the epilogue, it was revealed that Cole Weller was discovered, badly injured, but still alive, at the bottom of a freeway interpass.

He had no recollection of what happened to him.

In the video footage, large shadow can be seen above the boys, accompanied with a shrieking noise, reminiscent of a red-tailed hawk, as well as prehistoric sounding "crooooooo" noises, making it possible that the creature is of prehistoric origin (possibly Quetzalcoatlus).

In this episode, the creature's behavior is also shown, as it is shown to impale its prey on branches, much like a shrike.

Death Raptor - The Demonic Owlman

This is the real life story of a mysterious demonic giant human-like owl with flapping wings creature in California in 2007.

This is not a movie or a prank. This was aired by the respected Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.

The episode shows a pair of paranormal investigators called to research reports of demonic activity near a church.

Peter Grey, the leader, and his timid camerawoman, Jolene, went into the church and were frightened by a mentally unstable old woman named Hazel from Cornwall. She started a hysterical scream of a demon beast she saw, but the Archdeacon of the church appeared and berated her.

He described the monster people had seen, a large flying monster, with giant wings, red glowing eyes, and pointed ears. Assuming the creature is an owl, they investigated in the belfry because "owls live in belfrys".

They found large bird droppings, a dead and severely mutilated chicken, and (most disturbingly) an owl pellet (the size of Peter's head) containing a human mandible.

They then interviewed a girl who saw the so-called "Demon". The girl, Sue Anne Mills, began to have mental problems after her encounter. She revealed that the monster was aware of their presence and wanted to stop them.

They left for the forest where she saw the animal, and Jolene began to feel ill.

Suddenly, the bird attacked and swoops down on them. It knocked the camerawoman down, briefly causing Sue Anne to go missing, and tripped Mrs. Mills, but all escape unharmed and ran to the church... as the creature followed.

The archdeacon and Hazel entered and Hazel revealed that the monster was after Sue Anne.

The archdeacon spotted the monster and called for everyone to hide in the altar, the holiest room in the church, but the bird chased them in there as well.

Everyone crouched behind seats except for Hazel, who stood where she was, while the archdeacon shouted at her to come back.

In a shocking twist, Hazel shouted "It wants the girl because she's young and vulnerable...but so is an old woman!", and walked nonchalantly down the aisle.

Everyone screamed for her to come back, but she ignored them, and allowed the monster to attack and presumably devour her.

At the epilogue, it was revealed that the researchers were so frightened, they gave up their work indefinitely.

Sue Anne recovered, and lived a normal existence. Hazel's disappearance was never explained, but her sacrifice caused sightings of the creature to diminish.

However, since the incident, screams are still being heard in the woods near the church giving indication the creature is still out there.

In the footage, an owl-like shriek can be heard during the attacks. One can see its wings as it attacks Sue Anne and then Hazel. A large, human-like shadow with giant flapping wings is briefly seen on the walls of the church as well.

Fatalities caused: At least one. Hazel sacrifices herself to the monster in order to protect Sue Anne. An unnamed victim's mandible is found in an owl pellet as well. Also, a chicken is found dead and partially eaten.

Cave Demon - real life mystery in Tora Bora, Afghanistan

A US Marine in Afghanistan

This is the real life story of a mysterious demonic giant bat that resembled an eeriely looking female humanoid . This is not a movie or a prank. This was aired by Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.

On January 25, 2002, United States Marine Forces in Afghanistan experienced sonar interference coming from a cave near Tora Bora, which screwed up their sonar cave-mapping system.

Believing it to be a jamming device built by the Taliban or Al-Queda, three U.S marines, corporals Sawyer and Wade, and sergeant Carlos Ramos, investigated the cave, using helmet cameras to record their mission, which was to find the source of the interference and destroy it.

As they ventureed deeper into the cave, they discovered large amounts of bats and guano all over the cave.

Corporal Wade walked into a booby trap and fell into a lower section of the cave, breaking his back.

As he lies there, he spotted something flying past. The others found him and he seemed delirious, and muttered that what he saw looked "like a lady" (possibly a reference to how most batlike cryptids are known to have eerily feminine features).

One of the remaining Marines shouted excitedly that a woman might be down there and can help them, but the other dismissed it as a hallucination.

The remaining Marines quickly reached his position and decided to investigate the signal first which was close to their position.

As they reached the source of the signal, the signal disappeared and reappeared at Wade's position.

Wade was then heard firing off his M4 carbine and screaming in pain. The two Marines rushed to his position only to find him dead.

The two Marines left Wade's body to find the source of the signal interference. They came across "a whole nest of them", as described by one of the Marines and are attacked by an entire swarm of the creatures.

It destroyed their flashlights as they fired their weapons at the creatures. A rescue party was sent in after the booby trap caused the team to lose radio contact with the base camp.

However the rescue party only found Ramos limping away from the cave and with a rare case of rabies. He was sent home and reunited with his wife and kids.

It was theorized that the Marines' gunfire somehow killed or wounded the creatures as they left the sergeant to leave the cave alive.

The bodies of Wade and Sawyer were never recovered.

In the footage, there were louder than average bat screams when the Marines were attacked. Wade's helmet camera also showed him from behind, held down by a giant brownish winged creature. The cryptid appeared attacking the Marines again; this time, it seemed to be hanging from the ceiling.

Fatalities caused: Two. Wade was attacked, killed, and even partially decapitated by an unknown flying creature. Sawyer's death was unknown. It's possible that the creatures themselves were killed as well...!!!

Sea Serpent - the Monster of Monterey - the mysterious dissapearance of Sharon Novak

This is a real life story.

A female sailor was probably eaten by a giant mysterious underwater creature off the Bay of California in 2007.

Her body was never found but rescuers found her video cameras, set up at various angles on her boat, containing chilling footage of the final moments in her life.

Sharon Novak was broadcasting her solo sailing trip around the world over the net, while chatting with her boyfriend and co-writer, Charles, back home.

As Sharon began her final approach home to Monterey Bay, she found her boat struck several times, but, though shaken, she thought little of it. Although her boyfriend suggested that she not go into the water, she dived to inspect her backup motor engine, finding it clogged with a chunk of what she assumed was whale flesh.

She then followed a mysterious distress call to an abandoned boat, with what appearead to be blood all over one side. Panicked now, she decided that she definitely should not go into the water.

One of her cameras was destroyed and she tried to investigate, but she was struck thrice more and fell overboard.

She was last seen struggling to get back in her boat as it drifted off and was never seen again.

The vague silhouette of an underwater plesiosaur-like creature can be seen twice on the top of the screen from the camera views. In the first glimpse, the creature was passing by the boat while the woman was on board.

In the next, it was heading for her after she fell overboard.

Sharon failed to make it back to the boat and either drowned or devoured by the creature. An unnamed, previous victim's blood was seen on an empty boat, indicating that the creature came and killed him.!!!

This is the real story of survivalist Tim Akron.

Till today, his body was never found. But rescuers found his camera containing chilling footage of him being attacked and dragged by a giant Komodo like creature, dubbed the Devil Dragon.

That was the last visual footage of him alive.

Akron was filming a survival show in a remote island near Australia.

The premise is to be dropped into a remote environment with no food, no crew, and no contact with the outside world for seven days, similar to Survivorman.

During a demonstration on how to capture burrowing animals for food, he was bitten on the forearm by an unseen creature. Within a day the bite becomes badly infected, beginning to harm the man as he constantly flees the creature, who was slowly giving chase after biting him, similar to the nature of komodo dragons.

By the 3rd night, Tim was running to a village about 5 miles away to get medical help and then the creature makes its move and attacks.

Tim was dragged away into the bushes after dropping his camera. His body was never found. The following day, natives find his camera equipment covered in saliva; tests show that despite swarming with bacteria, it belonged to a "yet to be identified" reptilian species.

In the chilling video footage, the roars of the creature are constantly heard as the man runs from it.

Female forest ranger saved by Bigfoot!!

She survived but the injury to her face was so severe that she needed a complete facial transplant.

Infact, Connie Culp was the world's first near-total facial transplant and the fourth known facial transplant to have been successfully performed to date.

The transplant was successfully done at a clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

WASHINGTON: When her husband shot her five years ago, Connie Culp was left without a nose, a palate or lower eyelids, but on Tuesday she revealed her new face.

Culp was the world's first near-total facial transplant and the fourth known facial transplant to have been successfully performed to date.

The 46-year-old mother of two underwent a procedure last December that lasted 22 hours at a clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

Surgeons transplanted about 80 per cent of Culp's face using facial tissue from a dead woman that was placed like a mask atop her own. Almost her entire face was replaced, except for the forehead, upper eyelids, lower lip and chin.

The team of 11 surgeons who performed the operation said Culp, who was missing bone support and had been unable to eat or breathe without a tube in her windpipe, could now perform functions normally. But her face was bloated, drooping and her speech was at times difficult to decipher.

"We think this procedure has changed her life dramatically," Maria Siemionow, the clinic's director of plastic surgery research, told a news conference.

Culp's identity and the incident that had disfigured were kept under wraps until today.

"Well, I guess I'm the one you came to see today," Culp said after being helped up to the podium.

"I think it's more important that you focus on the donor family that made it so I could have this person's face."

When Risal Djohan, a plastic surgeon at the clinic, first looked at Culp's injuries two months after she was shot, "he told me he didn't think, he wasn't sure, if he could fix me, but he'd try," Culp recalled.

"Here I am, five years later. He did what he said -- I got me my nose," she said with a laugh.

Facial transplants are controversial because they carry heavy risks and are performed to improve a patient's quality of life rather than as a life-saving operation.

There are also concerns that the operation could eventually be used for purely cosmetic purposes or as a means of altering someone's identity.

Although the circumstances that led to Culp's injury were not revealed at the news conference, local media reported that her husband, Thomas, had shot her in 2004 at point-blank range before turning the gun on himself.

The apparent murder-suicide attempt failed and he was sentenced to seven years in prison.

A thoroughly disfigured Culp went through 30 operations in an attempt to salvage her face before finally undergoing the transplant, which was also the first of its kind known to have included bones, along with muscle, skin, blood vessels and nerves.

Siemionow said the transplant "was the most complex functional restoration in the world today".

"We have transplanted for the first time in the world the largest scheme of the face, which was combined with the bones, with the entire nose and functional units, including lower eyelids, upper lip and including also her palate," she said.

Doctors paid special attention to maintaining arteries, veins, and nerves, as well as soft tissue and bony structures, as they recovered the donor's facial tissue.

The surgeons then connected facial graft vessels to the patient's blood vessels in order to restore blood circulation in the reconstructed face before connecting arteries, veins and nerves.

Culp, whose sight had made adults cringe and children run away, urged others not to judge people by their looks.

"When somebody has a disfigurement and don't look as pretty as you do, don't judge them, because you never know what happened to them," she said.

Secretary accidentally bites off boss’ penis

A SECRETARY accidentally bit off the penis of her employer while giving him oral sex in a car.

Sin Chew Daily and China Press reported yesterday that while the 30-year-old woman was performing oral sex on the man, the car was hit by a reversing van.

The impact of the crash, China Press reported, caused the woman to bite off her lover’s organ.

The daily reported that the incident occurred in a Singapore park where the couple met after work.

To make matters worse for the woman, her husband had sent a private investigator to spy on her after suspecting that she was being unfaithful.

The investigator said he had followed the woman and her boss to the park.

“On reaching the park, they did not alight from the car. Not long after, the car started to shake violently.

After the car was hit by the van, there was a loud scream from the woman whose mouth was covered with blood,” he said.

The woman later followed her lover to the hospital with part of the sexual organ.

The investigator, who called an ambulance to send the man to hospital, said that this was the first time he had encountered such an incident.

BIGGEST BREAK FOR GERAKAN IN EAST MALAYSIA

KUALA LUMPUR, May 5 (Bernama) -- Despite being wiped out in Penang, its political base, and suffering a huge setback in the last general election, Gerakan seems to have strengthened its support in East Malaysia.
Since taking root in Sabah in the 1990s, the party has hardly made its presence felt there but the latest political move seems to have given the party the much needed boost in the state.
Gerakan might even have emerged as the biggest winner in the controversy over partyless Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah and former SAPP Youth chief and Elopura assemblyman Au Kam Wah.
Tan has decided to join Gerakan at a time when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is in the state for a two-day visit beginning yesterday.
Things have become clearer now that Tan and Au have decided to join Gerakan as party president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon had flown in together with the prime minister yesterday for the state visit in what a party insider said was "to iron out any obstacle" for the duo to join the party for the "biggest break".
"The discussion went on until late last night. Only today Koh decided to announce it after the matter had been ironed out with the national and state Barisan Nasional (BN) leadership," the party insider told Bernama.
Gerakan has never contested in Sabah and the decision by the two assemblymen to join Gerakan is a significant boost for this multi-racial party as it will automatically have two state assemblymen in Sabah, bringing the total tally in the country to six for the party.
In the last general election, Gerakan contested 12 parliamentary seats and 31 state seats, but won only two parliamentary seats -- Simpang Renggam (Johor) and Gerik (Perak) -- and four state seats -- Derga (Kedah), Ketari (Pahang), Pemanis and Bukit Batu (Johor).
Party sources said Tan, who is also Sabah Infrastructure Development Minister and Tanjung Papat assemblyman, is set to be appointed Gerakan national vice-president while Au is likely to be appointed to the party's powerful decision-making body, the central committee.
The current Gerakan vice-presidents are Datuk Mah Siew Keong and Huan Cheng Guan (elected) and the two appointed vice-presidents, Datuk Seri Chia Kwang Chye and A. Kohilan Pillay.
Under the party constitution, the party president can appoint up to five vice-presidents.
"The party president has spoken to us about this. We welcome it as it is good for the party," said Huan.
To some political analysts, the duo's decision to join Gerakan is surprising as the party did not have any influence in the state compared to other national-based parties like MCA.
"This is rather surprising. I assume that the duo are more comfortable with Gerakan due to the fact that it is a minority party in the state, unlike MCA which has a strong leadership.
"However, I would like Gerakan to take note that their power base is still Penang, not other states, not far away in Sabah. If they don't have a base in Penang, their survival will be in question," said political analyst Datuk Seah Chee Kim.
However, for others the decision is not surprising at all as there has been close cooperation between Gerakan and other Sabah-based BN component parties as early as when PBS was ruling the state.
In fact, the Sabah chapter of Gerakan was formed in 1994 by PBS dissidents led by Datuk Kong Hong Ming.
While Gerakan is said to be more a Penang-based party, its leaders, for quite some time now, have been working to broaden the party base by working closely with other components in other places.
In fact, the discussion for Tan and Au to join the party started many months ago despite other BN components making similar attempts to court them.
"We have been talking for several months. We are happy that finally, they made up their minds to join us. We hope with this development, more SAPP members can join the party in future," said Gerakan deputy president Datuk Chang Ko Youn.
There are talks that several more elected representatives from SAPP and other Sabah-based opposition parties may join Gerakan after this.
Political observers note that the reaction to Gerakan's success in getting Tan and Au to join the party is much different from when former Independent MP for Sandakan Chong Hon Min wanted to join SAPP when the party was still in BN, receiving strong objection from the LDP.
The objection was understandable as the LDP candidate in the 2004 general election, Datuk Lau Ngan Siew, was defeated by Chong. LDP had cited BN's policy of not accepting an Independent candidate who stood against BN in the previous elections, as their basis for the objection.
Apart from that, the Sandakan seat remained with LDP as the precedent was that, if the person joined the other party, the seat would remain with the original party.
When Datuk Kong Hong Ming left LDP for Gerakan, the Kudat seat remained with LDP. It was the same when Datuk Michael Lim left PBS for SAPP; his seat did not go to SAPP in the subsequent elections.
However, in this case, the question is whether Gerakan will be allocated the two seats in the next general election. But Gerakan may get the seats as SAPP left BN in September last year.
Whatever it is, for now, there is something for Gerakan to celebrate.
