Scotty McCreery won the 2011 American Idol, in a record breaking 122 million viewers otes beating his competitor, Lauren Alaina. Scott McCreery is the fourth male in a row to win "Idol." The previous three are : Lee DeWyze, Kris Allen and David Cook.

McCreery of Garner, N.C., and Alaina, 16, of Rossville, Ga., represent the first all-country finale and the youngest duo ever to compete on "Idol," which is in its 10th season.

The exuberant, big-voiced Alaina performed on Tuesday's final sing-off despite a vocal cord injury that needed medical treatment. She received raves from the judges, who said she won the night.

But the consistently popular McCreery, who'd never been at risk of elimination, claimed the title and a record contract.

The teenager seemed overwhelmed as he took the stage for a celebratory version of "I Love You This Big," halting to embrace his parents in the audience, Alaina and others. Then he playfully stuck his tongue out, trying to catch falling confetti.

His victory continued a recent pattern: He's the fourth male in a row to win the Fox TV contest, with 2007's Jordin Sparks, 17, the last female "Idol."

Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, two of the four female winners, have proved the winners with the most successful recording careers.

This season's vote total was more than three-quarters-of-a-billion, host Ryan Seacrest announced Wednesday. For Fox, it's affirmation there's still life in the series that's had a long ratings reign as No. 1 but has steadily dipped in weekly viewership and seen its audience age — something that makes advertisers balk.

Last year's season-ender, which included Simon Cowell's farewell, drew 24 million viewers. Through 2008, the winner's crowning routinely drew more than 30 million viewers.

McCreery commented backstage Tuesday on the loyalty of country fans, and they clearly gave the show a boost. Fox didn't announce the number of votes for the much lower-key contest between winner Lee DeWyze and runner-up Crystal Bowersox in 2010.

In 2009, when winner Kris Allen and Adam Lambert duked it out, more than 100 million votes were cast.

This season, Fox dropped the minimum age for contestants to 15 — Alaina's age when she auditioned last year — which may also have brought fresh viewer interest.

The show remains a hot promotional platform, with Seacrest helping some of the visiting pop stars push either movies (Black's new "Kung Fu Panda 2") or a Las Vegas show (Gladys Knight). Lady Gaga, whose new album "Born this Way" is out this week, was another performer.

Other high-wattage stars who performed Wednesday at the Nokia Theatre included Beyonce and Tony Bennett.

McCreery and Tim McGraw sang "Live Like You Were Dying," while Underwood returned to "Idol" to pair with Alaina on "Before He Cheats."

Judge Jennifer Lopez — draped in a scanty outfit and shaking her famous booty — took the stage to dance while husband, Marc Anthony, sang, turning the night into a family affair.

You can say bend it like Beckham. But on some other days you can say Save it like Beckham.

Beckham the world's most famous footballer and highest paid sports star, played the role of a good samaritan during a soccer match.



He recently skipped an L.A. Galaxy league match to play in best friend Gary Neville's testimonial against Juventus at Old Trafford on Tuesday 24 May 2011.

This is the first time in 8 years that Beckham was back at his former home and wearing a Manchester United shirt since 2003 when he left for Real Madrid.

The incident happened as Beckham was preparing to take a corner kick.

Just so, a couple of kids attempted their pitch invasion.

One was caught right away while the other fulfilled his desire to waste everyone's time by scampering around the pitch and evading a trio of stewards.

Beckham, meanwhile, just stood with his hands on his hips, waiting for his superior gravitational pull to attract the kid to him and when it did, he wrapped him up with a bear hug.

From there, the herd of stewards took over and moved to expel the two kids from the stadium as Beckham made a point to argue that they should be let go and showed his displeasure when they weren't.

He then struck his corner kick and carried on being the one and only David Beckham.

Maria Sharapova chose to debut her new Eiffel Tower-inspired dress at the 2011 French Open Tennis Grand Slam.

The Russian tennis blonde bombshell opened play at the 2011 French Open wearing a new, canary-yellow Nike dress designed with Paris' most famous landmark in mind, the Eiffel Tower.

Mass brawl in Singapore league

We are used to seeing football matches turn into wrestling or kungfu and karate fights!!

These shame and unsportmanship acts happened if players could not control their emotions..

Come on.. if you win you win.. and if you lose, you lose. No hard feelings. Even the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona accept defeat gacefully and gentlemanly.

In Singapore, we were shocked to learn of a mass brawl

On Monday 23rd May 2011, Singapore champions Etoile F.C. and Houngang United have been suspended from the top-flight S.League after an all-in brawl caused their fixture to be scrapped before even kick-off.

Local media reported that the brawl was sparked by a minor altercation while the teams warmed up at Hougang’s stadium and swiftly developed.

Four people were treated at hospital for minor injuries, Singapore’s Straits Times newspaper reported.

Both teams were quick to condemn such behaviour and were conducting their own probes into what had happened.

A disciplinary hearing has been scheduled for June 3 and matches involving either of the two clubs have been suspended.

“We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to violent conduct both on and off the pitch,” Singapore Football Association (FAS) President Zainudin Nordin said.

“FAS has started investigations and will pursue the matter thoroughly. Any players and officials found guilty of misconduct will be severely dealt with.”

“I am very, very angry to see such incidents happen. Any player found guilty of violent conduct will be punished very heavily and the club will be the first to take action,” Etoile chairman Johan Gouttefangeas said.

This mass brawl is not the first in Singaporean football.

In September 2010, players from the Young Lions and Beijing Guoan, brawled in a free for all kungfu and karate match, one minute before the end of regulation time when the score was tied 1-1.

The S.League encounter was eventually abandoned by referee Zaid Hussein who had seen enough and couldn't control the wild situation.

After the melee, Young Lions' Faritz Abdul Hameed (head injury), Gabriel Quak (arm) and Nazrul Ahmad Nazari (knee) were all discharged from hospital after observation.

Team manager Eugene Loo, who received a kick in the back, said: "Incidents like these are unacceptable. The players are remorseful for their actions and are apologetic."

The benches of both teams cleared in the free-for-all, with officials and substitutes running onto the field.

Malaysia ranked world’s 10th largest consumer of alcohol

This is shocking.. i didn't know that Malaysians are the 10th heaviest drinkers in the world despite only having 29 million population and despite Malaysia being a Muslim country...

According to media reports today 23th May 2011, Malaysia has been named by the World Health Organisation (WHO) as the world’s 10th largest consumer of alcohol.

This unwanted "milestone" was achieved despite its small population and size. Malaysia has only 29 million population.

Statistics by the international body this year also showed that Malaysians spent over US$ 500 million (RM1.5 bilion) on alcohol with a per capita consumption of seven litres.

Beer consumption in Malaysia is 11 litres per capita.

In disclosing this, Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Heng Seai Kie said the problem of alcohol consumption in the country was getting serious.

“Alcohol is not only causing a lot of health issues but is also contributing to a significant number of accidents,” she said in Kuala Lumpur on Monday 23rd May 2011.

She said the ministry, through the National Population and Family Development Board, would hold a campaign to create awareness on the danger of alcohol abuse.



Imagine the RM1.5 billion spent by Malaysians to drink beer last year... that whopping amount can be used to build roads, houses, water and electricity supply to the rural folks especially in the interior of Sabah and Sarawak.

Adakah tarif elektrik akan naik minggu ini 25 Mei 2011??

Adakah harga barangan dan perkhidmatan di Malaysia akan dinaikkan lagi menerusi satu pengumuman Rabu ini, 25 Mei 2011??

Spekulasi bertiup kencang bahawa kerajaan bakal mengumumkan kenaikan tarif elektrik dan juga aspek lain pada hari itu.

Semuanya kerana kerajaan berhasrat merasionalkan subsidi negara ini yang kini dinikmati rakyat dari pelbagai kaum dan agama tak kira di bandar atau ceruk desa.


Adakah kerajaan turut mengambil kira kebajikan penduduk miskin di pedalaman sebelum mengumumkan kenaikan tarif elektrik akibat pengurangan subsidi itu?? Bagaimana dengan keluarga yang hidupnya cukup makan saja atau kais pagi kais petang???



Adakah harga petrol akan naik lagi??Harga petrol RON95 kini RM1.90 seliter berbanding harga petrol RON97 yang meningkat kepada RM2.90 seliter selepas diapungkan mengikut harga pasaran minyak semasa.



Pada 16 Mei 2011 lalu, Timbalan Perdana Menteri, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, dilaporkan berkata, jumlah subsidi yang ditanggung kerajaan tahun ini akan meningkat sekali ganda berbanding tahun lalu iaitu daripada RM10.3 bilion setahun kepada RM20.58 bilion setahun berikutan kenaikan harga minyak dunia.



Semakin Malaysia maju dan membangun, maka semakin bertambahlah perbelanjaan rakyat dan kerajaan, umumnya akibat kenaikan harga minyak dunia yang menyebabkan hampir keseluruhan harga barangan dan perkhidmatan turut meningkat. Mengapa harga minyak ini sengaja dinaikkan oleh manusia itu sendiri untuk menyusahkan manusia itu sendiri??

Harga Minyak bukannya ditentukan oleh robot, komputer atau makhluk asing dari galaksi lain...

Hari ini, Isnin 23 Mei 2011, media melaporkan kerajaan dijangka mengumumkan langkah rasionalisasi subsidi termasuk penyelarasan harga petroleum minggu ini.

Perkara itu diucapkan Menteri Perdagangan Dalam Negeri, Koperasi dan Kepenggunaan, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob yang juga ahli Parlimen Bera, Pahang.

Bagaimanapun, Ismail Sabri, berkata kerajaan akan menyediakan kaedah paling sesuai untuk mengurangkan beban rakyat berikutan kenaikan itu.

Beliau cuba berdiplomasi apabila berkata "Tunggulah (pengumuman) dalam masa seminggu ini...kita akan membuat keputusan sama ada ingin meneruskan subsidi petrol, diesel dan gas memandangkan jumlah subsidi yang ditanggung kerajaan terus meningkat dari RM8 bilion kepada RM18 bilion," katanya ketika mengulas mengenai spekulasi kerajaan akan mengkaji semula harga produk petroleum termasuk petrol RON95.

Ismail Sabri berkata, kerajaan berpandangan wang yang diguna untuk menanggung subsidi sepatutnya dibelanjakan untuk projek yang lebih memberi manfaat kepada rakyat seperti membasmi kemiskinan dan menyediakan perumahan rakyat.

Sebenarnya bagi saya, soal ada wang atau tiada wang bukannya masalah.

Cuba lihat wang kertas yang ada pada kita.. ianya diperbuat daripada kertas campuran bahan kimia dilengkapi ciri keselamatan canggih kan??

Ertinya dan maknanya wang kertas ini boleh dicetak macam kita fotostat.

Kalau Malaysia nak RM100 Billion untuk perbelanjaan rakyat dan kekalkan subsidi, maka suruhlah Bank Negara cetak wang kertas sebanyak RM100 Billion.. Apa masalahnya??

Jika kebimbangannya wujud inflasi, maka sesiapa peniaga yang cuba cuba menaikkan harga barangan dan perkhidmatan dengan sesuka hati, maka tangkaplah mereka dan campakkan mereka ke Benua Artik atau Antartika atau ke Kem Kamunting, Perak.

Jika ini berlaku, maka tiada yang bernai naikkan harga sewenang wenangnya dan tiadalah inflasi.

Wang kertas baru Ringgit Malaysia awal 2012

Wah... kita ada wang kertas baru lagi..

Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) hari ini 23 Mei 2011 mengumumkan bahawa satu siri reka bentuk baru wang kertas dan duit syiling Malaysia akan berada dalam edaran pada awal 2012.

Wang kertas baru itu bakal menggantikan wang kertas sekarang.

Berikut dibawah adalah wang kertas yang pernah digunakan di Malaysia pada awal 1980an. Generasi sekarang mungkin belum pernah melihat wang kertas ini. Namun inilah dia rupa bentuk matawang yang digunakan nenek, datuk, ayah dan ibu kita pada zaman lampau.

Pada zaman pendudukan Jepun pada perang dunia ke 2 pula, matawang digunakan adalah wang daun pisang.













Menurut Bank Negara, langkah memperkenalkan wang kertas baru itu dilakukan secara berkala dalam setiap tempoh 12 tahun.

"Reka bentuk mata wang siri baharu itu akan mengandungi ciri-ciri yang khusus bagi Malaysia," kata BNM dalam satu kenyataan hari ini 23 Mei 2011.

Siri wang kertas itu, katanya, mempunyai ciri-ciri keselamatan yang lebih canggih sejajar dengan kemajuan teknologi wang kertas mutakhir ini.

Reka bentuk wang kertas siri ke-empat yang baru itu adalah untuk wang kertas dalam denominasi RM1, RM5, RM10, RM20 dan RM100.

Reka bentuk terkini wang kertas RM50 yang sudah pun berada dalam edaran sejak bulan Disember 2007 bagi memperingati Ulang Tahun Ke-50 Kemerdekaan Malaysia akan terus dikekalkan dalam edaran.

Bentuk baru itu juga diperkenalkan bagi duit syiling 5 sen, 10 sen dan 50 sen.
