Datin Linda Tsen (above) being greeted by a Barisan Nasional, BN supporter at the Sanbay Hotel, Sandakan, Sunday 24th October 2010, moments before she was formally announced as the BN candidate for the P 185 Batu Sapi by election.
Datin Linda Tsen Thau Lin, 54 was born on 29th July 1956.
She is the Parti Bersatu Sabah, PBS Elopura Wanita Deputy Chief and PBS Wanita Vice Chief.
Datin Linda attended primary school at the Chi Hwa primary school, Sandakan and later at the Tiong Hwa Secondary School, Sandakan.
She furthered her studies at St. Brandon School, Clevedon, United Kingdom and at the Trinity College of Music in London.
She is a fellow of London College of music as well as Past President of Kota Kinabalu Music Society and past examination representative of Trinity College of Music, London.
She is the mother of 4 children - three daughters, aged between 18 and 23 and a son, 13.
Datin Linda Tsen said she felt honoured for being chosen as the BN candidate.
“It is an opportunity for me to carry on with the legacy of good work of my late husband Datuk Edmund Chong,” she said.
Result of the 2008 general election for P185 Batu Sapi. The late Datuk Edmund Chong Ket Wah won by 3,708 majority.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Sabah BN component leaders had agreed to Tsen’s candidacy.
“Batu Sapi is not foreign to her and so is politics because she is a Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Wanita vice-chief. This will be her service to the people, an opportunity to carry on the struggle of her late husband, and her own,” he told a news conference at the Sanbay Hotel, Sandakan on Sunday, 24th October 2010, moments after announcing the BN selection of Datin Linda Tsen as Batu Sapi candidate.
He said it had been proven that there were many capable women who should be given the opportunity show their leadership qualities.
“They work equally as hard, just like their male counterparts. That is why we unanimously agree to field Datin Linda because she wants to continue serving the people who had given their full support to her late husband. She has promised to give the best to the people of Batu Sapi,” Musa said.
To a question whether sympathy played a part in the decision to field Tsen, Musa said it was up to the people to judge, saying what was important was that she had been serving the people as a politician.
On the BN’s preparations for the by-election, Musa said the state BN had met and worked out the assignment of duties among them.
The Chief Minister said Linda was ready to continue the work and struggle of her late husband and that she has assured to work diligently to provide the best services to the Batu Sapi constituents.
“The Batu Sapi constituency is not foreign to Linda and so is politics as she is PBS wanita vice chief and Elopura divisional deputy wanita chief.
“This will be her service to the people, an opportunity to carry on with the work of her late husband, and her own,” Musa said.
He added that in Malaysia, there were many qualified and capable women who should be given the opportunity to show their leadership qualities.
“They work equally as hard just like their male counterparts and deserved to be given the opportunity. And that is why we unanimously agree to field Datin Linda because she wants to continue serving the people who had given their full support to her late husband,” Musa said.
Musa also said the state BN would work very hard to ensure victory for Linda on November 4, 2010.
“With the support and cooperation of all BN component parties in Sandakan which would be working night and day, we will be victorious,” he said.
On BN’s preparations, Musa said the state BN had met and worked out the division of duties among them.
“I have assigned responsibilities to all division chiefs and elected representatives,” he added.
The Batu Sapi by-election was called following Edmund’s death in a road crash on October 9, 2010.
The by-election is a three-cornered fight between Linda, SAPP president Datuk Yong Teck Lee and Sabah PKR leader Ansari Abdullah.
The late Edmund first became Batu Sapi MP in the 2004 general election.
In 2008, he retained the seat after defeating independent candidate Chung Kwong Wing.
Edmund obtained 9,479 votes while Chung had 5,771 for a majority of 3,708 votes.
Datin Linda as expected won the Batu Sapi Parliamentary by-election polling on November 4th, 2010.
She received 9,773 votes, beating SAPP's President, Datuk Yong Teck Lee who only managed 2,031 votes and PKR's Ansaari Abdullah who pooled 3,414 votes.
Her majority votes of 6,359 votes are much bigger that her late husband's majority in the 2008 election.
I started blogging since December 2008 as a small time, naive part time blogger.
At first, i am not into blogging, but rather interested to do something else which brings much fun eg. beer guzzling and of course eye-stalking any sexy women who happened to pass by.
I started blogging because my brother is an active blogger and he get paid for that!!
At first, i received 0 (a big fat zero visit).
But after slowly learning the trade, the tricks and reading other super bloggers' blogs, i started getting maybe 20 - 30 visits per day.
But an incredible thing happened one fine day.
While lazily and sleepily browsing my blog on one Friday morning, 15th October 2010, i saw that there are 8,300++ visitors to my blog.
Hmmm.. This is totally impossible.!!
Heck I thought... something is very wrong with the computer or maybe some computer savy jackass from Bucharest, hijacked the internet superhighway.
The next day, the visits continued to soar spectacularly to over 15,000 visits on Saturday, 16th October 2010 alone.!!!!!
That is almost 15K uniques in ONE day - that is totally impressive, far beyond my wildest dreams.
The next day, Sunday, 17th October 2010, i thought i am the new super blogger in Malaysia and is ready to say Bye Bye to Kenny Sia, Rocky Bru, Beautiful Nara, Tun Dr Mahathir, Xia Xue, Obama, JFK and Xingwei as the new undisputed blogger of the world.!!!
But after 3 days, the traffic was back to normal!!!
After doing a little CSI - Crime Scene Investigation - i found out that the sudden soar was solely contributed by balatarin.com, an Iranian digg-like portal.
The operation language of the portal is Persian.
My article with URL http://easycomeseasygoes.blogspot.com/2009/03/physical-virginity-tests-in-africa.html was posted on balatarin.com by user "mova" on 15th October 2010 and immediately was a hit.
As of the time of writing, it has had more than 21,000 clicks, 52 comments and 194 "diggs" or Balatarins???

Datuk Ibrahim Ali - the Pasir Mas Member of Parliament
I wonder if this has anything to do with Datuk Ibrahim Ali being the President of Perkasa - a quite controversial Malay rights group, formed recently in Malaysia.
Infact the Pasir Mas Member of Parliament is no stranger to controversy.
On Monday, 11th October, 2010 during the Malaysian Parliament sitting, Datuk Ibrahim Ali was criticised by fellow Parliament Opposition Member of Parliaments who said they felt "utter disgust" with Datuk Ibrahim Ali, who allegedly did not stand up and continued talking on the phone as the House stood in one-minute silence as a sign of respect for Batu Sapi Member of Parliament Datuk Edmund Chong Ket Wah who died in a road accident on 9th October, 2010 in Kota Kinabalu.
The video below :
In the video below, Datuk Ibrahim Ali who is Perkasa President has lodged an official protest with the United States government over statements issued by ex-ambassador John R Malott in his blog, alleging that the Malay rights NGO (Perkasa) is a militant organisation.
Ibrahim Ali, handed over a memorandum to acting US deputy ambassador to Malaysia Brian McPhearson and political councillor Jeremy B Nathan at the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur on August 2, 2010.
The video below :
13th October 2010.
The Kelantan palace Wednesday, 13th October, 2010 revoked the datukship of Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali and former state secretary Wan Hashim Wan Daud.
The revocation of Ibrahim’s datukship came several days after he visited the former Sultan of Kelantan Tuanku Ismail Petra.
After the visit on Friday, Ibrahim was quoted by the media as saying that the former Sultan was very happy to see him and that he remembered their shared experiences years before.
Wan Hashim is the private secretary to the former ruler.
When asked for a comment in Parliament, Ibrahim said it was not a big deal.
He said he was not surprised with the revocation of his datukship but stressed that it had nothing to do with his role as Perkasa president.
He said he was still a datuk as he has two other awards which carried such a title, from Selangor and Malacca.
Ibrahim said he was still in the dark as to why his award from the Kelantan palace was revoked.
But he said he had visited the former Sultan on Friday as he is very close to Tuanku Ismail Petra.
I got this from an email and i think it is worth sharing with you all guys and girls, boys and girls.
US President Barack Obama recently visited China, primarily to find out what exactly & how exactly China is doing things that makes it such a success story, surpassing all the so-called "expert economic planners" of the US & Europe.
His team found these 5 basic lessons behind China 's success - it applies equally to our beloved country Malaysia as well as other developing countries :
LESSON No 1 - BE AMBITIOUS
The Chinese believe in Setting Goals, Making Plans, & Focusing on Moving Ahead - there is always the sense of foward motion.
As an example, a huge 6-lane highway in Shanghai took only 2 years from planning to ready for traffic. In the US, 2 years will only get you the environment and local authority permit if you are lucky.
LESSON No 2 - EDUCATION MATTERS
The Chinese are obsessed with ensuring kids get the right education - English, Maths & Science. They made sure that ther education system reached even the most remote rural areas - today the literacy rate in China is OVER 90%, surpassing even the USA 's 86%. According to American Educationists, the Chinese kids are way ahead of the kids in the USA .
LESSON No 3 - LOOK AFTER THE ELDERLY
The Chinese DO NOT send their elderly to nursing care centres - they personally look after & care for their parents. In the US , nursing care of the elderly is now costing each resident USD 85,000 annually, & this is rising. The Chinese also believe that the grandparents at home make the best tutors for their children. It also provides a sense of cultural continuity - this helps bind society.
LESSON No 4 - SAVE MORE
In the USA , savings dropped to zero in 2005, and is only now slowly rising to 4%. In China , the savings rate for every household has exceeded 20%. The Chinese believe that fugality & a healthy savings rate are a sure indicator of a country's financial health. High savings lead to increased investments - results in increased productivity, innovation & job growth.
In the West, & aped by our Malaysians, the status symbol is to spend more than you earn, with as many credit cards as possible. In the end, the whole country gets into debt.
LESSON No 5 - LOOK OVER THE HORIZON
In China , eveyone is foward looking - never backwards. New graduates make a vow - never ever will their children & grandchildren ever work in the fields again. With this kind of foward mentality, people are always thinking & planning how, not just to succeed, BUT how to be the best in the world in everything they do.

China is also the world's second largest nominal Gross Domestic Product at 34.06 trillion yuan (US$4.99 trillion), with per capita income of US$3,700.
Infact, China's economy is second only to the United States.
China success stories are believed to have begun in the year 1978 when then leader, Deng Xiaoping initiated China's market-oriented reforms.
In terms of Tourism Industry, China is the fourth most visited country in the world with 50.9 million inbound international visitors in 2009.

Jealousy possible motive in nurse's murder (source The Star Online)
KOTA KINABALU, 13th October, 2010 : This may indicate that the poor nurse may have known her assailant/s after all, and not a random victim by a killer/murderer out there, as being suggested in this previous post.
The murder of a nurse, whose body was found semi-clothed and dumped in a drain near Kingfisher Park, Kota Kinabalu on Tuesday, 12th October, 2010 may have been due to jealousy.
Police arrived at the conclusion after arresting a 41-year-old man who was also the victim’s friend.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim, in confirming the arrest, said Wednesday, 13th October 2010, they were also looking at other possibilities as they awaited a post mortem report on the death of 39-year-old Annie John Dismas.
Annie’s decomposing body was found on Tuesday morning, 12th October 2010, after she went missing at about 5pm on Saturday, 9th October 2010.
A missing persons report was lodged at 2am on Sunday, 10th October 2010, after family members found her car at a parking lot at Jalan Dewan in town here.
Noor Rashid said police believed that the arrest of the man could shed some light on the case but declined to say if he was the main suspect.
"It is still premature for us to say anything,” Rashid said.
He urged those with information or who saw the victim prior to her disappearance to contact the Karamunsing police station.
Annie was believed to have been hit on the head and suffered a broken rib.
Police have not ruled out the possibility that the she might have been killed elsewhere and her body disposed in a deep but narrow drain near the housing estate.
Annie, a who worked at a hospital in Kudat, was attending a two-week course on nursing at the Open University Malaysia campus here.
She had been in the state capital since September 30th, 2010, and was living with the family of her fiance in Penampang.
Meanwhile, Sabah Health Department director Dr Mohd Yusof Ibrahim expressed shock over the murder and extending his and the department's condolences to the family
Last Saturday, 9th October, 2010, nurse Annie John Dismas, 39, was reported missing after she had spoken to her fiance over the telephone about 3pm.
The following day, Sunday, 10th October, 2010, her Perodua Kancil was found about 2am, at Lorong Dewan, near Hotel Garden in the Kota Kinabalu city centre.

Beware ladies...
A killer or killers who is / are preying on women are on the loose in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.

According to newsreports, The semi-nude body of the poor woman, believed to be that of a nurse reported missing last Saturday, 9th October 2010, in Kota Kinabalu, was found dumped in a drain today, Tuesday, 12th October, 3 days after her reported missing.
May her soul rest in peace and may swift justice be done.
The body was in an early stage of decomposition when several residents of Taman Kingfisher stumbled on the remains about 11am.
Sabah Deputy Police Commissioner, Senior Assistant Commissioner Tan Kok Liang, said initial investigations revealed the victim had sustained head injuries.
He said the police had not ruled out the possibility the body could be that of a Kudat-based nurse who was reported missing.
"(Nevertheless) It is premature to determine the cause (of death)," he said, adding that a post-mortem would be carried out at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).
Last Saturday, 9th October, 2010, nurse Annie John Dismas, 39, was reported missing after she had spoken to her fiance over the telephone about 3pm.
She had reportedly told her fiance she was going to the Open University Malaysia (OUM) to attend a course, and later to QEH to visit her grandmother.
Annie failed to return home that night.
The following day, her Perodua Kancil was found about 2am, at Lorong Dewan, near Hotel Garden in the city centre.
Her 64-year-old father, John Dismas, said her daughter works in Kudat and had come to Kota Kinbalau with her fiance believed on September 30th, and they stayed with the fiance's family at Kg Mahandoi in Penampang.
He said Annie, the second among six siblings, last spoke to her fiance at about 3pm on Saturday, saying she was going to OUM to attend a course and later to Queen Elizabeth Hospital to visit her grandmother.
Annie's 51-year-old mother tried to contact Annie at about 7pm but her phone was switched off.
Annie's fiance also received a miss call from Annie at about 7.30pm, but when her fiance tried to contact her it was switched off again.
Concerned family members began searching for Annie at the Universiti Malaysia Sabah area as well as the city after she did not return home at 11pm.
They found her Kancil at about 2am (Sunday) and after breaking into the car, John found a bill which indicates she had gone shopping at Karamunsing Shopping Complex around 5pm.
Family members immediately lodged two separate reports at Penampang Police Headquarters and City Police Headquarters.
Could she be abducted at the Karamunsing Complex car parks??
Rest in Peace Annie..
I think Malaysia should have its own Vigilantes - ordinary citizens who wipe out hardcore criminals out there, therefore making it easy for police to do their job. One such vigilante was featured prominently in the Death Wish movie which spanned 5 series.
Charles Bronson who starred as Paul Kersey, an architect with deadly shooting skills, single handedly killed 300 hardcore criminals in 5 Death Wish movies, using all sort of weaponry in his one man crusade to annihilate and eliminate once and for all those bad asses!!!
Saina Nehwal - pemain badminton no. 3 dunia dari India
Namun, Caroline bukan tandingan Saina yang kini pemain no. 3 dunia. Saina menang set kedua 21-2.

Epworth Hospital is capable of performing Robotic prostatectomy operations
Former Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was recently warded at the Epworth Hospital in Australia for suspected viral infection in the chest. Tun Dr Mahathir who ruled Malaysia from 1981 to 2003, shared his experience in his blog : http://chedet.co.cc/chedetblog/2010/10/melbourne-experience-the-hospi.html#more is is his writings in full :
1. After three days in the Epworth Hospital, it was suggested that I be discharged but should continue treatment under the Hospital in the Home service.
2. The Home Hospital has a full staff of doctors, specialists and nurses. They will carry out the full hospital treatment, periodical medical examination and treatment, intravenous drips, physiotherapy etc. They do not stay with patients but would visit at the designated time and stay as long as necessary.
3. It is far better than house-call by doctors as they can only give limited service. You feel you are being well looked after as in the hospital, but you have the ambience of home and family.
4. I don't know if we have this service or not but I believe it can contribute to being a developed country.
5. Another service I experienced is the ambulance service. The two ambulance personnel are very highly trained to give first aid including CPR, proper handling of fractures, take blood pressure and heart rate, ECG and other signs and symptoms.
6. They handle their patients very competently, are in continuous communication with the hospital to ensure preparation for receiving the patients.
7. I believe an effort was made by local doctors to provide this kind of service in Kuala Lumpur. Unfortunately after the ambulances had been acquired the financiers backed out. The Return on Investment was not good enough.
8. The Government does not operate a full ambulance service. Nor do all hospitals provide such service.
9. There are now many hospitals in KL - both public and private. A good ambulance service can save many lives.
10. Maybe the Government could afford to support the superior ambulance service in one way or another - at least until they become viable. What we need is just one. If several such service is licensed, all would be likely to fail.
According to the hospital's website, Epworth Hospital is a private not for profit hospital group that operates under its own Act of Parliament, "The Epworth Foundation Act 1980". All surplus revenue generated is reinvested in improving patient care.

Nigeria's Oludamola Osayomi celebrates after winning the women's 100m final at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India. She has since failed a drugs test.
The women 100 metres final at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, India. Sally Pearson of Australia initially won the race in a time of 11.27 seconds followed by Oludamola Osayomi of Nigeria in 2nd place in 11.32 seconds. Now both Pearson and Osayomi are out of medal. Pearson was disqualified for a false start, elevating Osayomi to 1st place.
But now, it seems Osayami's gold medal will also be stripped because she was tested positive for a banned stimulant. Here in the race, can you detect a false start by Pearson?? The answer is no!! Infact Pearson was one of the slow starters, running behind Osayomi before a final surge in the last 30 metres, saw her finishing first..
Another athlete caught cheating??? Well 2010 Commonwealth 100 metres women winner, Nigerian Oludamola Osayomi's gold medal may be stripped...
What a shame to Nigeria at New Delhi...
Same case happend at the 2000 Sydney Olympics where then Women's 100m winner - Marion Jones had her gold medal stripped after admitting to using banned drugs to enhance performance..
The news was confirmed by the 2010 Commonwealth Games official websites here http://www.smh.com.au/commonwealth-games-2010/comm-games-news/chief-defends-games-image-after-sprinter-fails-dope-test-20101011-16fax.html?autostart=1
Osayomi's A-sample tested positive for methylhexaneamine - a stimulant banned by the World Anti-Doping Authority, but set to return to its original ''non-specified'' classification from next year - and officials were awaiting the results of her B-sample before taking action.
Methylhexaneamine made headlines earlier this year when eight Indian athletes, including six wrestlers, tested positive for the substance which can be found in nasal decongestants.
Meanwhile the Nigerian team officials claim Osayomi's positive test could be traced to medication she was prescribed for a toothache, and declared their intention to fight any move to strip the sprinter of her gold medal.
Dr Mani Jegathesan, a former Malaysian sprint king who is the Commonwealth Games anti-doping chief, admitted Osayomi's failed drugs test would tarnish the image of the Games to some degree.
He also denied any suggestion that anti-doping measures had been compromised by the chaotic start to the Games, during which the late arrival of many athletes forced alterations to the testing program.
''That has not been the case,'' Jegathesan told the Herald. ''Every system in place is a balance between affordability and availability, and you have to find that. What I believe we have put in place is a system where every athlete feels they are an equal chance of being tested before, during or after a race. They should be thinking, 'It could be me today,' whether it's because they have won a medal, selected at random or targeted.
''We've done nearly 900 tests, and this is the first positive, and I think that says a lot. It's not great news for the Games, but it is news that shows there are systems in place that should act as a deterrent.''
Well this is another episode of controversy in the women 100 metres of the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Osayomi was previously elevated to first place in the 100m final after Sally Pearson - the Australian athlete who finish the race first, was disqualified.
Pearson - the 110 metres hurdles specialist was disqualified after IAAF appeals jury upheld a protest by England arguing that Pearson false started.
Although sensors detected England's Laura Turner breaking one-thousandth of a second ahead of Pearson, England successfully mounted a case that the tiny discrepancy between the sprinters' reaction times should constitute a dead-heat false start, resulting in the disqualification of both Pearson and Turner.
The 24-year-old Osayomi finished second in a time of 11.32 seconds, behind Pearson (11.27s).
The ruling allowed England sprinter Katherine Endacott to move from fourth to third place. Should Osayomi be stripped of gold, Endacott could be elevated further into silver medal position, with Natasha Mayers of St Vincent and the Grenadines in line for the gold.
The pair had contrasting fortunes on their return to the track on Sunday night, 10.10. 2010.
Pearson qualified fastest for tonight's 100m hurdles final, while Osayomi finished fourth in the 200m semi-final, and failed to reach the medal round.
A Malaysian dailynewspaper, Sin Chew reproted today 11th October 2010 that MEN can improve their fertility by eating a banana every three days.
Quoting a Singaporean urologist, the daily reported that the fruit can increase sperm count as it contains high level of magnesium to produce sperm cells.
Taking food like cashew nuts, potato, spaghetti and seafood will also have a similar effect, according to the doctor.
He advised men to avoid drinking alcohol, smoking, taking a hot shower or spending time in a sauna as these can affect the production of sperm.
Well what is a banana??
To me, a banana is a type of fruit, shaped like male reproductive organ or the penis!!
According to Wikipedia, bananas are naturally slightly radioactive, more so than most other fruits, because of their high potassium content, and the small amounts of the isotope potassium-40 found in naturally occurring potassium.
Proponents of nuclear power sometimes refer to the banana equivalent dose of radiation to support their arguments.
Banana shipments often set off the radiation monitors installed at US ports to detect illegal shipments of radiologic materials.
Well... men out there... what are you waiting for?? Go find some bananas now for better and enhanced performances on bed!!!
No wonder, monkeys have got very strong libidos, making love all the time with their female partners!! Monkeys are the foremost bananas eaters!!!

KOTA KINABALU: Batu Sapi MP Edmund Chong Ket Wah of Parti Bersatu Sabah died in a road accident in Kota Kinabalu. He was 54.
He is believed to have been riding a Kawasaki 750 bike along the Sembulan-Tanjung Aru road when he was involved in a crash with an on-coming Mercedez car at about 11.40am Saturday, 9th October 2010.
Chong, was heading for the city on a Kawasaki 750cc motorcycle when the accident occurred just before the Sutera Harbour traffic light at 11.40am.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Sofi Zakaria said that both vehicles were travelling in the same direction when the accident occurred.
"There was a collision and there were dents on the front right side of the Mercedes (left).
"We are investigating how the accident happened."
Chong died on the spot. His body was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital here for a post-mortem.
The impact of the crash threw Chong off his bike. He landed on the road going in the opposite direction while the bike landed 30m away on the road shoulder.
Chong, who is in his second term as Batu Sapi MP, was born on April 9, 1956, in Sandakan. He was married to Linda Tsen Thau Lin and leaves four children.
A consultant engineer, Chong was the PBS treasurer-general and its Elopura division chairman.
A well-liked and humble person, Chong won the Batu Sapi parliamentary seat in the 2004 and 2008 general elections.
He was appointed Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board chairman for Sabah last year.
His death came as a shock as just 16 hours earlier, he was with PBS leaders at the finals of the party's President Cup football championship at Likas Stadium.
Minutes after the accident, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman arrived at the mortuary.
Senior PBS leaders, including President, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, deputy president cum Federal Minister of Science, Technology and Inovation Datuk Dr MAximus Johnity Ongkili, deputy president and Sabah's Resource Development and Information Technology Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai, were also seen at the hospital.
Some leaders also went to the accident scene which is near the 5 Star Sutera Harbour Resort and Grace Ville luxury apartments complexes.
Also at the scene were secretary-general Datuk Henrynus Amin, Youth chief Datuk Jahid Jahim and supreme council member Datuk James Vitalis.
Chong was said to have been on his way back from Kota Kinabalu International Airport to his house in Likas after buying his air ticket to attend the Parliament sitting tomorrow.
Putatan MP Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh said Chong had called him to say that he had bought his ticket and would leave for Kuala Lumpur today.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman described Chong''s death as a great loss for the people and state of Sabah.
"He was a dedicated and committed leader in discharging his responsibilities as the Member of Parliament for Batu Sapi," he told reporters when approached at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Musa, who is the State Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman, said he and his family extended condolences to Chong''s family and PBS.
PBS President Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, who was also at the hospital, said: "It''s very sad for the state and the country, especially PBS. He was my close friend."
This tragic event triggers yet another by-election in Malaysia.
Is the Parti Keadilan Rakyat, PKR, one of the main opposition parties in Malaysia - using gangster tactis against whoever they considered their foes??
Well in Klang, Selangor on 6th October 2010, The Star reported that groups of men stormed a restaurant and stopped a former aide of PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim from talking to the press.
The men, believed to be PKR members, hurled obscenities at both Rahimi Osman and his lawyer S. Ravi Chandran and demanded that they leave the premises without speaking to the media.
However, it is believed that Rahimi, who was Anwar’s aide in 2008, had lodged a police report at the Klang district police headquarters before going to the restaurant for the press conference scheduled at 4pm yesterday.
It was learnt that Rahimi had stated in the report that he was forced to sign two statutory declarations in 2008 implicating Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor in the sodomy case involving his friend Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who is also Anwar’s former aide.
According to the report, Rahimi alleged that he was forced to sign the statutory declaration by several PKR members, including party information chief Latheefa Koya.
He claimed that he was also forced to remain in a hotel in Shah Alam for a few days after signing the statutory declarations, which he had done under duress and for fear for his safety.
It is believed that he had made a new statutory declaration yesterday to debunk his earlier two declarations. Klang OCPD ACP Mohamad Mat Yusop confirmed that Rahimi had lodged a report at the Klang police station.
Anwar’s aide in charge of Indian affairs K. Suresh Kumar, who was at the restaurant, accused Rahimi of trying to create chaos at a time when the PKR polls for the top posts were around the corner, and that he had been “paid” to make his allegations.
“What is he up to? He disappeared when Mohd Saiful accused Datuk Seri (Anwar). I called him and he told me then that he wanted to remain neutral,” said Suresh Kumar.
The group later gathered at another restaurant in Petaling Jaya after hearing rumours that Rahimi would be giving another press conference but left when he did not show up.
Latheefa, meanwhile, denied using any form of duress on Rahimi.
“He was at that time a potential witness in the sodomy case and as part of the defence team, we were merely preparing statements for potential witnesses, which is the norm in any legal defence,” she said.
She added that Rahimi had voluntarily cooperated at all times, adding that it was absurd for him to claim duress two years after making statutory declarations that were never used.
Cebu Pacific Airlines (CEB), is a popular low-cost carrier that promises to give "low fare, great value" to every passenger who wants to fly.
The airlines is looking for new flight attendants, and among the requirements are - you have to dance on board the aircrafts but dancing skills are not required..!!
CEB recently shot to YouTube fame after a passenger posted a video of their flight attendants dancing to a mashup of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" and Katy Perry's "California Girls."
The dance, which was professionally choreographed, was actually a supplement to the usual safety demonstration conducted before takeoff.
"Cebu Pacific has always been known as a fun airline. We were looking for something new and different, to show that flight safety doesn't have to be boring," Cebu Pacific vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog told GMANews.TV in an earlier report.
CEB is hiring flight attendants to augment their workforce, as they are expecting four brand new airbus deliveries monthly starting October.
“We are scheduled to add more flights to Kota Kinabalu, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Seoul in time with our Airbus A320 aircraft deliveries, and we need more cabin crew to handle our additional capacity," said Iyog.
However, non-dancers need not worry because the safety demo hit was just "something they thought of doing."
"We had no idea it would become this big," said Iyog, who clarified that the new hires would not necessarily be dancing.
"First of all, not everybody can dance. I don't think we can require those who have two left feet to perform," she said.
Meanwhile, the Flight Attendants and Stewards Association of the Philippines (FASAP) has scored the dancing flight attendants as sexist.
“While it may look like a harmless publicity stunt to attract passengers at first glance, in the long run the stereotyping of flight attendants as entertainers will surely have a negative and sexist impact in the minds of the public, at the expense of the unwitting female-dancer-flight attendants," said FASAP.
While selected flights will still feature the safety demo dance, what CEB looks for in its applicants is the right attitude.
"They have to embody our culture of fun as an airline," Iyog told GMANews.TV.
Yesterday, CEB hired 300 flight attendants in a one-day walk-in recruitment at the Crowne Plaza.
More than a thousand applicants went through the initial interview but only 300 were given their pre-employment documents at the end of the application process.
Yesterday's walk-in recruitment was the fifth in the last two months.
Successful applicants will go through a 58-day training period, so those who were hired yesterday will be flying in December or January. "We hire for attitude and we train for skill," said Iyog.
The walk-in recruitment is a lot more convenient than the regular screening process, which requires applicants to go back and forth.
At the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila Hotel in Quezon City yesterday, all the concerned departments were present, from the People Department (HR) to the In-Flight Services Team.
"It's easier because they know where it is, the location is better and the venue is much bigger than our office," Iyog told GMANews.TV, explaining that they still receive applicants through the normal weekly recruitment because their hiring for cabin crew is continuous.
The qualifications for being a CEB flight attendant include:
a dynamic personality that embodies CEB’s culture of fun;
height of at least 5’3" for females and at least 5’7" for males;
weight that is proportional to height;
clear complexion, good eyesight, and good set of teeth;
college education;
proficiency in Filipino and English, and
willingness to be assigned outside Metro Manila.
Applicants are advised to bring along their updated resumé and recent 2x2 photo. The screening is on first-come first-serve basis.
Iyog added, “We have already successfully trained 120 flight attendants this year, and our 70th batch will soon graduate by the end of September. After rigorous training on safety and service, and competency checks, Batch 70 with 19 females and 9 males will be welcomed into the CEB family."
CEB currently has a fleet of 10 A319, 11 A320 jets and eight turbo-prop ATR 72 aircraft. It expects to take delivery of a total of 24 brand-new Airbus A320 until 2014.
On Sunday 3rd October 2010, UK Daily Mail photographer Mark Pain became part of the Ryder Cup after a failed chip shot by Woods struck his lens. But before that happened, Pain actually took a picture of the ball heading right for him, which included Woods and the crowd.
Yet one member of that crowd has become an Internet sensation.
The photo phenomenon has to do with a face to the right of the crowd. The man is chomping a cigar, wearing a brown turban that covers long hair, and appears to have a bemused smile on his face. The sight of this man has become even more popular than seeing a flying golf ball up close.
As such, photoshoppers have gotten to work in making Cigar Guy a new Internet meme.
One picture has his face digitally inserted on the entire crowd, including Woods.
Others have his face placed on album covers and other sports figures.
MSNBC has called the Cigar Guy meme the biggest - and most positive - mashup around lately. Other famous memes have been for sad images, involving Keanu Reeves and Mad Men's Don Draper. But this officially unidentified golf fan has inspired many photoshoppers with his smiling expressions.
Even though Woods is still struggling to remain the world's best golfer, his star power is still not in doubt.
It is so big, that it has helped make someone nearby him into an Internet sensation. Of course, the Cigar Guy photo phenomenon has reduced Woods to a supporting player in this trend, even though he started it in the first place with his poor shot.
Despite the photo searches, it seems no one has actually found out the real name of the popular fan. But that seems certain to change at some point, although no real name seems likely to overtake his Internet one.
Well to me Woods himself is still among the top 10 internet phenomenon in the world, especially when his sexcapades holes in one stories were splashed on global newspapers and internet. This forced Woods to be divorced by his Swedish wife - Elin Nordergen.
Arrico Jumitih, the 20 year old Dusun strongman from Kampung Mansiang, Menggatal, en route to winning the gold medal in the 62 kg weightlifting category athe the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, 5th October, 2010.
Aricco or fondly known as ADI, with fellow Malaysian, 2nd placed Naharudin Mahayudin. Malaysia completed a 1-2 finish in the 62 kg category. Congrats Malaysia.
Proud family: Aricco's mum, Emily Sabin (left) showing a news report about Aricco’s success to her daughter Agnes, who is holding Sheryn Britny, and her son-in-law Venus Lairing at their house in Kg Mansiang, Menggatal, Sabah, Malaysia.
WEIGHTLIFTER Aricco Jumitih’s mother Emily Sabin, 52 years old, drove a schoolbus to support the family of six sibling after her husband passed away four years ago.
It has been a hard life but Emily can breathe a little easy now after his son beat the odds to grab the second gold medal for Malaysia in the Delhi Games on 5th October, 2010.
The medal will be worth RM80,000 under the National Sports Council (NSC) incentive scheme.
When met by reporters at her house in a village called Mansiang in Menggatal, Emily said she did not expect her son to win the gold medal.
"Aricco called me at 11 pm last nite and joked that he was only placed 6th" said Emily.
Aricco, who hails from Mengattal, a small town near Kota Kinabalu, and never even competed at the SEA Games level before, surprised even himself in chalking up personal best efforts en route to winning the men’s 62kg competition at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
"We are very happy but at the same time, sad. This because his late father (who died in 2006) could not witness this historic event".
"We came from a poor family.. we are not rich. When my husband passed away in 2006, i took over his former job as bus driver to support the family" said Emily.
Luck smiled on 20-year-old, the youngest son of the family, after favourite Dimitris Minasidis appeared to be struggling with a hip injury and performed below expectations.
The Cypriot only managed a total of 252kg for ninth place.
Aricco lifted personal best in both the snatch (120kg) and in clean and jerk (156kg) to secure an unexpected gold for Malaysia with a total of 276kg.
There were more cheers with 26-year-old Naharudin Mahayudin, who finished out of the medals in the previous Games in Melbourne in 2006, taking silver for Malaysia with a total of 275kg. Sri Lankan Anton Sudesh won the bronze on 272kg.
On Monday 4th October 2010, Amirul Hamizan Ibrahim had given Malaysia a perfect start on the first day of official Games competitions by defending the men’s 56kg title.
Amirul’s triumph was expected but not for Aricco, who was only looking for a medal of sorts in his Games debut.
The Sabahan, who only joined the national senior squad two years ago, was virtually speechless when met after the prize giving ceremony but was clear on one thing.
He plans to use the reward from the NSC to help his mother buy a bigger house in his hometown.
“My mother still works for a living, taking up odd-jobs too. Maybe, I will give her the money to my mother to help her get a better house. I also want to keep a bit to go into small business with my brother,” said Aricco.
“I did not expect this today. I have never even managed a total of more than 273kg previously. I guess it’s also my luck that I claimed the gold. Naharudin also did well.”
Well Congrats Emily and Aricco, we Sabahans and Malaysians are proud of you.
Aricco Jumitih (kanan) pemenang emas angkat berat kategori 62 kg Sukan Komanwel New Delhi 2010 bersama pemenang Perak juga dari Malaysia, Naharudin Mahayudin selepas majlis penyampaian hadiah di kompleks sukan Jawaharlal Nehru, New Delhi, India, 5 Oktober 2010.Aricco membuktikan anak kampung boleh menyinar di pentas dunia.
Syabas Arico. Emas Malaysia, RM80,000 Aricco!!
Inilah angkatan pingat emas Aricco Jumitih pada sukan Komanwel New Delhi 2010.
"Mula mula dia bergurau dengan saya, dia kata dia hanya mendapat no. 6" kata Emily.
Apa tidaknya, cucu sulung Emily, Shareen Britney, baru dilahirkan 2 hari lalu, 24 jam sebelum Aricco melakarkan kejayaan pingat emas di New Delhi.
Apapun, pengorbanan keluarga Aricco patut dijadikan ikhtibar.
Dia kini Juara Komanwel.
Harapan kita... Liverpool bangkit dan kembali mengaum seperti sediakala...

KUALA LUMPUR: Gerakan adviser and former president Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik will write in and resign as the party adviser on Wednesday, 6th October 2010.
He said he was disappointed with the way president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon handled the conflicts in the party.
"He is someone who hates getting involved in solving conflicts for fear of offending people," he told reporters at a press conference on Wawasan Open University's inaugural convocation here Monday, 4th October 2010.
He said Dr Koh's attitude of speaking no evil and burying his head in the sand had brought about many problems in the party.
