In 1977, Welsh singer, Bonnie Tyler thought her world had ended.
She was diagnosed with nodules on her vocal cords that were so severe that surgery was mandatory. However, Tyler began speaking again prior to her doctor's orders, causing her voice to take on a raspy quality.
At first this made her believe that her singing career was over, but to her surprise, her next single made her an international star. "It's a Heartache" made #3 on the US chart and had become a hit worldwide; it topped the charts in several countries including France and Australia and peaked at #2 in Germany and at #4 in the UK....

She's very lucky indeed :)
Yeah... she is popular until now because of her distinctive voice - like Rod Stewart....
She has one of the world's greatest rock voices, along with Stewart of course, Bryan Adams and a host of male hard rock vocalists.
Apparently she sang another of her classics Lost in France (1976) when she still had her original voice.
Of course she's probably most well known for the monster hit A Total Eclipse of the Heart (1983)
She has a great working voice box that works well under pressure!!!
