Ingat, sebelum ini Barcelona membelasah Santos, kelab terkemuka Brazil dengan jaringan 8-0 selain menghancurkan Thailand 7-1 di Bangkok dengan jaringan tunggal Thailand oleh penyerang terbaiknya, Teerasil Dangda yang skilnya 80% kurang daripada skil Neymar dan Messi.



Tahniah juga kepada Amri Yayah kerana menyumbat gol tunggal Malaysia menewaskan Victor Valdes, penjaga gol kedua terbaik Sepanyol, di belakang Iker Casillas. Beberapa tahun lalu, Amri Yayah turut menjaringkan 2 gol ketika Malaysia tewas 2-3 kepada Manchester United yang mana gawang golnya dijaga oleh antara penjaga gol terbaik dunia, Erwin Van Der Sar. Mengapa Barcelona kuat? Sebab separuh daripada pemain2nya adalah pemain kebangsaan Sepanyol yang menjuarai Piala Dunia 2010 di Afrika Selatan dengan menewaskan Holland 1-0, jaringan kemenangan oleh Anders Iniesta yang turut beraksi malam tadi. Lionel Messi became the first player to score 5 goals in one Champions League game last night, 7th March 2012, and moved to within 7 goals of becoming the highest goalscorer in Barcelona’s history at the age of just 24.

His feat of 5 goals in a single Champions League game has never been achieved before, not even by such football greats in modern era such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and others.

In the match against Leverkusen at Nou Camp, Barcelona is leading 3-1 on aggregate.

Messi opened the scoring on 25 minutes from a Xavi Hernandez pass. He got the second from a Cesc Fabregas pass just before the break in the 42nd minute, and in the second half with Barcelona already safely into the quarter-final draw he went into overdrive.

He scored from Andrés Iniesta’s pass four minutes into the second period, and again after 58 and 84 minutes.

Cristian Tello also scored two goals for Barcelona and on any other night the 20 year-old would have been the story, but there was no overshadowing the little man who is beginning to dwarf so many of the game’s greats.

There was a fight between Bayer Leverkusen players after the first leg as to who would take his shirt — this time he kept it on as he picked up the match ball and made for the tunnel.

Untuk Malaysia berjaya dalam bolasepak antarabangsa, Ong Kim Swee harus dibawa mempelajari pengalaman Barcelona di Nou Camp

Tidak dinafikan, Ong Kim Swee, jurulatih Harimau Muda, antara jurulatih bolasepak paling menonjol di Asia Tenggara. Dia berjaya membawa Malaysia juara bolasepak Sukan SEA sebanyak 2 kali berturut turut pada 2009 (tewaskan Vietnam 1-0 di final) dan 2011 (tewaskan Indonesia 4-3 menerusi sepakan penalti setelah kedudukan terikat 1-1 di final).

Ong Kim Swee yang pernah bermain bolasepak untuk Sarawak dan Sabah pada Liga Malaysia sekitar 1990-an termasuk membantu Sabah juara Dunhill Liga Malaysia 1996, kini mengetuai misi Malaysia untuk layak ke sukan Olimpik London 2012.

2 time world player of the year, Lionel Messi is only 23 years old, yet he has won everything that the football world has to offer, except the World Cup.

If Messi win the World Cup with Argentina, he is seen as the best player of all time in the universe, better than Diego Maradona and Pele.

Argentine superstar and soccer prodigy, Lionel Messi cemented his status as the greatest player of his generation as two moments of magic from the Argentine maestro inspired Barcelona to Champions League glory on Saturday, May 28th, 2011.

Messi, named by Argentine legend Diego Maradona as his successor, arrived at Wembley widely regarded as the sport's preeminent force but the likes of Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney also had their claims to be the world's best.

Those arguments will now be forgotten as Messi produced a second match-winning display in a Champions League final against United in the space of just three years.

Back in 2009, Messi announced his arrival as a true great with a headed goal in Barca's 2-0 victory over United in Rome.

This time he did his damage with a sweet strike to restore Barca's lead early in second half before a superb solo run provided the impetus for David Villa's clinching third goal.

A remarkable tally of 56 goals in 62 games for club and country this season suggests Messi deserves his place alongside Pele, Diego Maradona, Johan Cruyff, Alfredo Di Stefano and George Best in the pantheon of all-time greats.

Maradona worked with Messi when he was Argentina manager at last year's World Cup and said recently: "I've heard many times over the years that there is a 'new Maradona'. With Messi, though, I believe the player is equal to the hype."

It was easy to see why Maradona is so enthralled by his compatriot as he bewitched the United defence time and again.

Messi was denied a sight of goal by Nemanja Vidic's brilliantly timed tackle in the early stages.

The 23-year-old had never scored in England and he was out of luck again on the stroke of half-time when he stretched to reach Villa's cross.

He dropped deep to link up with the midfield on several occasions and embarked on several twisting runs into the heart of United's defence without finding the killer pass.

When a chance finally came his way with space on the edge of the penalty area early in the second half, Messi's shot was headed away for a corner.

But United had been warned and they failed to heed the lesson in the 54th minute.

Andres Iniesta slipped a pass to the Argentine 25 yards out and, as Patrice Evra and Vidic backed off, Messi whipped a fine low strike past Edwin van der Sar.

Messi's 12th Champions League goal of the season equalled the record set by former United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy during his time at Old Trafford.

He was close to another as he escaped Rio Ferdinand's attentions to drive in a shot that Van der Sar pushed away, but he wasn't finished yet.

A typically fleet-footed piece of skill left Nani trailing in his wake as Messi cut in from the right to unhinge the United defence in the build-up to Villa's 69th minute minute goal.

Fittingly, Wembley, renowned as the Venue of Legends, was the backdrop for Messi's rise to the ranks of the immortals.

While Messi shone, it was a frustrating night for Rooney.

The 25-year-old admitted this week that he was so enthralled by Barca's 5-0 win over Real Madrid earlier this season that he leapt from his sofa to applaud their sublime display.

And Rooney was reduced to the role of spectator again as Barca weaved their magic to take the lead through Pedro in the 27th minute.

United's need for Rooney to step up to the plate had never been greater and the England forward rose to the occasion to equalise in the 34th minute.

After Rio Ferdinand won possession, he took Michael Carrick's pass in stride and flicked the ball onto Giggs, whose flick was just right for Rooney, drifting between Barca's centre-backs, to curl a superb first-time shot past Victor Valdes.

However after that he was starved of possession for long periods and cut a frustrated figure as Barca strolled to their fourth European Cup triumph.

Champions League final pada 28 Mei 2011 pasti milik Barcelona

Daripada jutaan peminat setia the Red Devils atau Manchester United, seorang daripadanya ialah pewaris tahkta Britain, Putera William yang baru saja melangsungkan perkahwinannya dengan Kate Middleton pada 29 April 2011 lalu di Westminster Abbey, London.

No religious ban on Manchester United jerseys in Malaysia, says Mufti

The disputed football jerseys include that of Brazil, Portugal, Serbia, England, Manchester United, Liverpool and Barcelona because the emblems feature among others The Red Devils, Cross, Betting company and Alcoholic drinks!!!!

But to me, football is football and religion is religion. They are 2 very very very separate things and issues. No sane football supporters will suddenly convert to other religion from their respective religions on seeing their teams actions.

No logic thinking football supporters will suddenly worship the devil whenever Manchester United win.

KUALA LUMPUR: There is no “religious ban” on Manchester United jerseys despite statements by several prominent Islamic scholars urging Muslims not to don the Premier League club’s shirts because the emblem features a devil.

Perak mufti Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria said jerseys with devils, crosses or skulls promoted the wrong values for Muslims but that did not mean they should be banned.

“A fatwa on the matter is not necessary as it is clearly wrong for Muslims to wear shirts with devils and other unIslamic symbols because it is against the teachings of Islam,” he said yesterday.

Apart from Manchester United, which is also known as The Red Devils, other football teams whose crests carry images deemed unIslamic like the cross are Brazil, Portu­gal, Serbia, Barcelona and Norway.

“In Islam, Satan is our enemy ... but I believe Satan is also an enemy of the non-Muslims.

“We advise people not to wear them,” said Harussani.

He added that Muslims had no reason to wear and glorify symbols that promoted wrong values.

Harussani said other ulama and mufti shared his opinion but they did not plan to pass any edict to ban the attire either.

Many Muslim football fans, he said, were actually unaware of the images on the emblems.

His view was shared by Johor Religious Council adviser Datuk Nooh Gadot, who had issued similar advice to Muslims on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, several Malaysian football fans have shown the “red card” to the advice by the ulama.

They voiced disapproval over social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

“What am I going to do with all my Manchester United jerseys? And my sons’ jerseys?” said a Twitter user.

Some even went to the extent of accusing the ulama of supporting Liverpool, Manchester United’s archrival.

Manchester United Malaysia Fan Club, which boasts 7,000 members, when contacted, declined to comment.

Checks at various sports retail outlets in shopping malls revealed that the famous red jerseys of the club were still on sale.

Sales personnel on duty said the new version of the club’s attire was selling like hot cakes as it had arrived just a few days ago after its global launch on July 15.

Champions of Europe 2009 - Barcelona or Manchester United??

Had it been a dry day on the 21st of May 2008 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia, the 2008 UEFA Champions League Winner would have been Chelsea and not Manchester United.

But it was raining quite heavily on that day of the final between the 2 English giants.

The score after extra time was dead-locked at 1-1. Cristiano Ronaldo had earlier scored for Man U in the 26th minute before Frank Lampard equalised for Chelsea in the 45th. minute.

In the deciding penalty shoot out - John Terry stepped out as Chelsea's 5th and last penalty taker. The penalty score at that moment was 4-4 and in favour of Chelsea after Cristiano Ronaldo shot as 3rd penalty taker for Man U was saved by Peter Cech. Man U had taken all the penalty kicks.

Had John Terry converted the penalty, Chelsea would have been crowned Champion of Europe for the 1st ever time. But John Terry slipped due to the slippery condition of the pitch after the downpour. He sliiped at the very crucial moment, just before he unleashed a right foot shot. Man U goalkeeper - Erwin Van Der Sar dived at the wrong way to his right. but he ball went wide to the left.



It was devastating for Terry and Chelsea. Manchester United went on to convert the extra 2 penalty kicks and won the 2008 Champions League after Chelsea's Nicolas Anelka shot was saved by Peter Cech.

John Terry, his Chelsea team-mates, manager Avram Grant, and millions of Chelsea fans around the globe had at least 1 month of sleepless nights.

While Manchester United fans are still jubilating until now.

At the 2008 final, it was not only historic because an English side versus an English side but also because there were 3 Michaels playing - Michael Ballack and Michael Essien for Chelsea and Michael Carrick for Man U.

There were many England internationals playing against each other such as Man U's Rio Ferdinand, Owen Hargreaves, Phil Neville, Wayne Rooney, Wes Brown, Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick against Chelsea's John Terry, Joe Cole, Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard.

And Didier Drogba was sent off after an altercation with several Manchester United players which was started by Carlos Tevez.

Now, who will win the final tonight in Rome. Barcelona or the defending champion - Manchester United..?

Both teams had been crowned as champions of the domestic league, this year.

Man U become the English Champion for a record 18th time while Barcelona was also crowned champion of the La Liga, the Spanish League for a record 19 times!!!!

Man U won the Champions League 3 times in 1968, 1999 and 2008 while Barcelona did it in 1992 and 2006.

If Man U win tonight, they will create history as the first Club to win back to back title in 19 years.

The last time was in 1989 and 1990 when the great AC Milan side, powered by the fearsome Dutch Trio - Ruud Gullit, Frank Rikjard and Marco Van Basten won the title twice in a row.

Apart from AC Milan, 4 other teams achieved the unique double champion feat.

Liverpool in 1977 and 1978, Benfica in 1961 and 1962, Inter Milan in 1964 and 1965 and another former English Giants - Nottingham Forest in 1979 and 1980 - but now Nottingham Forest is doomed and seems lost in oblivion.

But 2 teams managed to win the title as Champions of Europe - 3 times in a row - Ajax Amsterdam and Bayern Munich.


Dutch Maestro - Johan Cruyff

The great Ajax Amsterdam in the 1970s, marshalled by the legendary Dutch maestro, Johan Cruyff won the title in 1971, 1972 and 1973.

After Cruyff left Ajax for Barcelona in the end of the 1973 season, Ajax waited 22 more years before once again winning the Champions League in 1995.

Apart from helping Holland reached 2 successive World Cup Finals in 1972 and 1978 where they lost to Germany and Argentina respectively, Crufyy, during his time at FC Barcelona, scored one of his most famous goals, The 'Phantom' Goal.



In a game against Atlético Madrid Cruyff leapt into the air, (the goal at 2 min 44 secs in this video) twisted his body so he was facing away from the goal and kicked the ball past Miguel Reina in the Atlético Madrid goal with his right heel (the ball was at about neck height and had already traveled past the far post), the goal was featured in the documentary En un momento dado in which fans of Cruyff attempted to recreate that moment, the goal has been dubbed Le but d'Imposible de Cruyff (Cruyff's impossible goal).



Gerd Muller "Der Bomber"

Bayern Munich, spearheaded by the greatest German striker of all time, Gerd Muller nicknamed Der Bomber, won the European Cup 3 times in a row in 1974, 1975 and 1976.

But none can beat Real Madrid phenomenal and beyond comparison 5 successive Champions League / European Cup titles in a row in 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1960.


Alfredo D'Stefano

Argentina's legendary Alfredo D'Stefano, Spain's Rial and Marquitos and Hungarian legend Ferenc Puskas combined to form the world's greatest football club of all time.

Real Madrid demolished every single team in that era and won the domestic league and the European titles easily.

The highlight was their 7-3 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the 1960 European Cup Final at Hampden Park, a game many consider to be the finest exhibition of club football ever witnessed in Europe.

With 10 goals scored, it was the highest scoring ever in a European Cup final. Puskas scoring 4 goals and D'Stefano scoring a hattrick..!!!



Now back to the 21st century, so who will win the 2009 Champions league final? My bet is Barcelona.

They have more fire power both in the domestic league and the Champions League.

In the La Liga, Barcelona scored more than 100 goals on their way to winning their 19th Spanish league champion titles.

By contrast, their nearest title challenger - 2nd place Real Madrid only managed 82 goals.

In of the most memorable Spanish league match of all time, Real Madrid was humiliated 2-6 by Barcelona in their own turf, this season!!!

In total, Barcelona scored 104 goals in 37 La Liga matches, an average of 2.8 goals per match.


Lionel Messi

Their fearsome strike force of Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, Samuel Etoo and Andres Iniesta contributed to that overwhelming number of goals.



This season in the La Liga, Samuel Etoo, Barceona's Cameroonian striker scored 29 goals, Lionel Messi, the Argentinian prodigy and successor of Diego Maraddona scored 23 goals while French great - Thiery Henry scored 19 goals.

So Etoo, Messi and Henry, altogether scored 71 goals this season..!!!!! And that is a big headache for Sir Alex Ferguson, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and co..!!!!

The number of goals might as well further increase as Barcelona has a final Spanish league match against Deportivo La Caruna on 31st May 2009.



Like Maraddona, Lionel Messi had scored many fantastic solo goals for his country and his club. This is a solo goal by him in an international match, Argentina vs Colombia.
