Wedding Bell for Malaysia's world no.1 badminton player, Lee Chong Wei

WORLD No. 1 shuttler Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia (picture above left) is reportedly getting married to former Malaysian top women's singles player Wong Mew Choo (picture above right) in a grand ceremony expected to be held in Genting Highlands next year, 2012.

Chong Wei's father Lee Ah Chai told a local Malaysian media, China Press that the duo were planning to settle down after 11 years of courtship.

Lee said they were likely to choose a suitable date for their big day after the London Olympics in 2012.

Lee Chong Wei is Malaysia's top badminton player and currently world no. 1, having won many tournaments including champion of All England, twice in a row in 2010 and 2011.

Interviewed at his home in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, Lee said 29-year-old Chong Wei, the youngest among four siblings, would be the last to settle down.

Chong Wei and Mew Choo, however, denied the report and refused to comment further.

Mew Choo, 28, a former Malaysia's no. 1 badminton player is now a coach at the Bukit Jalil Sports School after she quit competitive badminton in April 2011.

Lin Dan with Xie Xingfang

Well, it is a common occurance to see badminton player marrying a fellow badminton player. Take the case of 4 times world badminton champion, Lin Dan of China who was once romantically linked to China's top female badminton player and former world champion, Xie Xingfang.

Anyway congrats Chong Wei and Mew Choo, may you two produce another great badminton player for Malaysia.

Chelsea Clinton weds Marc Mezvinsky in high-security ceremony

Marc Mezvinsky is one tough and lucky guy. Since a few years ago, he dated a lady who is the daughter of two of the world's most powerful persons.

To be exact, he dated Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of the United States secretary of state, Hillary Clinton and the former president of the United States, Bill Clinton.

Today, Chelsea, 30 married her long-term boyfriend, Marc Mezvinsky, 32, on Saturday in a star studded ceremony at the elegant Astor Courts estate on New York's Hudson River.

Some of the wraps finally came off the high-security event as the family released photographs of the ceremony. The bride wore traditional white, a strapless gown designed by family friend and wedding guest Vera Wang.

Chelsea, carrying a bouquet of white flowers, was escorted down the aisle by her father. The groom and the former president wore dark suits, and the bride's mother wore a fuchsia dress.

A statement from Bill and Hillary Clinton said: "Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends.

"We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day."

The ceremony was conducted by a rabbi and a minister, as Chelsea Clinton is Methodist and Mezvinsky is Jewish. It included a poem by Leo Marks titled The Life That I Have.

A no-fly zone was imposed over the event and the road to the exclusive estate was blocked off. Neighbours received bottles of wine for their troubles.

The busloads of wedding guests included the acting couple Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen; Madeleine Albright, secretary of state during Bill Clinton's second term as president; and Terry McAuliffe, the former Democratic national committee chairman.

The happy couple were friends as teenagers in Washington and studied at Stanford University. They live in New York, where Mezvinsky works for a hedge fund, G3 Capital. He is the son of the former Democrat politicians Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky and Ed Mezvinsky, a long-term friend of the Clintons.

Chelsea Clinton recently completed her master's degree in public health at Columbia University.

Congrats Chelsea and Mezvinsky..

Xia Xue (Wendy Cheng) is married.... so sad!!!

Pics sourced from Xia Xue blog.

Bye bye sunshine.. bye bye man.. Xia Xue is already married to her beau - the handsome American - Michael Sayre aka Mike in December 2009. I used to have a crush on her, that is why i am still blogging about Xia Xue marriage, even after almost 4 months passed since she tied the knots with Mike aka Mike Tyson!!!!

The glittering ceremony took place at a posh hotel in Singapore and i was not invited!!! hehehe

Well.... Xia Xue or Wendy Cheng is Singapore's top and most popular blogger.

She has won many accolades including Best Asian Blog and many many more awards.

Xiaxue, started blogging in April 2003 and by October 2008, her blog attracted some300,000 visitors per month. Singapore's National Library Board has added her to its electronic archives. By now, i think based on modest estimation, her blog could have atrracted some 1 million page views per month!!! She is definitely making money and getting a lot of perks, by blogging.

Compare that to the gadget blog Gizmodo which had almost 100 million pageviews in January 2009 alone, and fantastically profitable.

A personal-diary type blog, Dooce earns USD500K to USD1 million a year, which works out to much more than RM100,000 a month.

Tech blog TechCrunch earned USD3 million in 2007 and even more the next.

The Huffington Post raised USD25 million in 2008.

China top blogger, Xu Jinlei attracted some 3 million hits on her blog on a monthly basis.

Malaysia's top blogger like Kenny Sia reportedly earned more than RM10,000 per month via Nuffnang alone.

Well Xiau Xue also briefly became a celebrity blogger for The Straits Times newspaper, a Maxim columnist, and co-starred in a sort of reality TV series, Girls Out Loud.

She also did a fortnightly series, Xiaxue's Guide To Life.

If you want to know about blinging your long nails with crystals, getting a tongue piercing, losing weight, cooking live crabs, shopping for slutty clothes or fitting out your totally pink Princess Room on the cheap, or turning your hair into gold, or throwing someone off the Eiffel tower, or recognising the looks of those "ham sap" guys, Xiaxue is your girl.

"Singaporean (Chinese) guys," she wrote, "like girls who keep quiet and nods in agreement to everything they say, rather than a girl who speaks up for her own opinions. They like girls who are weak, diminutive and vulnerable, not girls who are strong and can protect themselves." They must also dress modestly and be virgins.

Xiaxue is the opposite of this Singaporean ideal girls. She's bitchy, swears, wears "chio" (pretty but provocative) clothes, writes in intimate detail about things like panty liners and panties, and flaunts her American boyfriend turned husband, Mike. It provokes hundreds of comments.

She also generates controversy by attacking other bloggers. One famous post dealt with the Top Seven Most Disgusting Bloggers in Singapore, including Xiaxue. She attacked herself for being a fake, short, fat and ugly. "She is so hao lian [arrogant] of her stupid angmoh [caucasian monkey] boyfriend," she wrote. "SPG!" Sarong Party Girl: the ultimate insult.

As you'd expect, most of Xiaxue's readers – around 70% – live in Singapore or Malaysia. For the rest of us, she's a virtual tourist spot, providing an uncensored, unmediated and somewhat voyeuristic peek into a different society. Well, every nation has their own Xiau Xue in the bloggers world.

All the best Xia Xue... i still love you..

Amber Chia's husband looked like Badminton world no.1 - Lee Chong Wei at first sight!!

At first sight - the guy seen seen here with Amber Chia, looked like Malaysia's no.1 Badminton player - Dato Lee Chong Wei!!! Am i right???

This is Adrian Wong, the man of the moment. He is the husband of the gorgeous, glamorous, sexy and beautiful Malaysian supermodel, Amber Chia. Hey Adiran, congrats. Please teach us the art of wooing the heart of one of the most beautiful women in Malaysia. Please sir... we are eager to learn from you!!!

Supermodel Amber Chia’s husband is her manager and business partner, Adrian Wong.

The newly-weds met journalists in Kuala Lumpur on March 30th, 2010 to reveal the identity of “Mr Amber Chia”, after keeping mum on the issue since their wedding in Bali, Indonesia, on 25 March 2010.

Wong, 36, has two children from a previous marriage.

“We decided to come out because we want people to stop speculating,” Chia told The Daily Chilli.

“We don’t want things to go out of control. We’re sorry if we shocked a lot of people, including our own friends, but we’re just two people in love who would like to keep things private,” the Malaysian supermodel said apologetically.

“We were looking for a more appropriate time to make it public. Please understand that he’s not a celebrity and he’s not used to the limelight like I am,” Chia added.

On accusations from some parties that she was a “home-wrecker”, Chia said: “Never. By the time I got to know Adrian and eventually fall in love with him, he was officially divorced from his wife.”

Wong, a business graduate from Melbourne University, spent 10 years in Australia and was the founder and director of Absolute Entertainment, the event management company responsible for bringing the Pussycat Dolls and Andy Lau to Malaysia.

He currently has business interests in Hong Kong and Malaysia.

Wong popped the question five-and-a-half months ago after courting Chia for a year and a half.
