Game of death, 0.5 seconds separated a teenager from being crushed to death by a high speed train in Adelaide, Australia

Kids and people, do not try this at home. This is sure death. Only luck saved this stupid Australian teenager from certain death, sometimes in April 2011.

He played a game of death with an oncoming high speed train at Mawson Lakes train station in Adelaide, Australia and was lucky to be alive. Only 0.5 seconds separate him from life and death.

Disturbing security camera footage, recorded at the station and from inside the train, shows the stupid teenager running across tracks an diving across the path of an express train.

This stupid guy barely managed to scramble on to the platform.

Half a second late and the more than 10 tonne train would have smashed and crushed him to pieces beyond recognition as a second camera attached to one of the carriages reveals.

The dramatic video was released by Transport South Australia in the hope that it will deter others from taking chances with trains.

The crazy teenager, is only 17 and he would have meet God at that tender age if he was unlucky.

If he tried this again, he would certainly be playing this game in other world.

The teenager was lucky to escape with only a broken ankle.

For his stupid and sickening daredevil act, he was convicted in the Elizabeth Youth Court on charges of stopping a train in motion without a reasonable excuse.

He was ordered by the magistrate to undertake a community service order, write a letter of apology to the driver and pay the prosecution costs.

The incident, stopped peak-hour services for more than two hours while it was being investigated.

The signs of Laylatul-Qadr, Malam Lailatul Qadar

Source : IslamicCenter.org

There is night in the month of Ramadhan which is better than a thousand months (83 years, 4 months). This night is called Lailatul Qadr or Malam Lailatul Qadar in Malay language.

According to Hadith, this night occurs during the last ten days of Ramadhan on one of the odd numbered nights. Usually it is celebrated on the 27th night of this holy month. It is a night of great importance and enormous blessings for Muslims.

A night such as Lailatul Qadr was not granted to any religious community (Ummah) before Muslims.

Only the Ummah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were favoured with a night of huge reward. Once reason, it was granted, was to enable Muslims to equal the worship of any people who lived before us.

In the distant past it is said that people lived very long lives of hundreds of years.

We, today, live much shorter lives. And so Allah gave us Laitatul Qadr to enable us to do as much worship as a man who lived even hundreds of years longer. If in a lifetime, you only worshipped on Lailatul Qadr ten times, you would have equaled in those ten nights 833 years of worship.

Malaysian man, charged with the murder of French tourist, Stephanie Foray, 23rd August 2011

The murder of French tourist, Stephanie Foray, shocked Malaysians as killing of foreign tourists are very very rare in Malaysia.

Pahang, the largest state in Peninsular Malaysia, is also home to Tioman, an enchanting island in the South China Sea . The Tioman island is blessed with a beautiful coastline, which offers endless tropical bliss for sun-seekers. However this island also witnessed the brutal death of a young French woman on the night of May 10 2011. Stephanie Foray breathed her last, far away from home. Rest in Peace.

Today, Tuesday 23rd August 2011, a Malaysian trader was charged in the Magistrate's Court in Pekan, Pahang with the murder of French tourist Stephanie Foray.

Asni Omar, the bastard beast from Hell being led by Malaysian Police at the Magistrate Court in Kuantan, Pahang on 23rd August 2011.

The brutal killer, Asni Omar, 36, just nodded when the charge was read before Magistrate Emma Shahriana Ali. No plea was recorded.

Asni is charged with murdering Foray, 30, at an unnumbered house in Kampung Tekek, Pulau Tioman between 8 pm on May 10, 2011 and 12 noon on Aug 12, 2011.

It was believed that Foray and the suspect Asni Omar, had been drinking together on the island and she was later killed after refusing his sexual advances, the New Straits Times quoted police sources as saying.

Asni faces the mandatory death sentence by hanging if found guilty under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Emma Shahriana then ordered the case to be transferred to the High Court but did not set any date for the trial to start.

Prosecution is by Deputy Public Prosecutor Amalina Zainal Mokhtar.

Foray, a civil servant from Bour-en-Bresse, France, was reported missing since May 8, 2011.

Before arriving in Malaysia, Foray toured India.

She was reportedly last seen alive on the island on May 8, 2011.

She was said to be among more than 90 passengers who arrived in Tioman by ferry from Mersing and there was no record of her leaving the island, either by sea or by air.

The Malaysian police immediately launched an investigation following a report lodged by her family through the French embassy in Singapore, and found that Foray had gone to Pulau Tioman on May 10, 2011 and had not left the island since.

Further probe into the case led police to the discovery of human skeletal remains buried three metres deep in a cave at Tekek village on Monday, August 8, 2011, almost 3 months after her reported disappearance.

Blood samples have been collected from two family members of Foray to help in identifying the remains of Foray.

Foray's mother and sister arrived at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital morgue in Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia on 12 August 2011.

It was learnt that they had flown in to Kuala Lumpur from France on Thursday, 11th August 2011 and reached Kuantan at about 7pm the same day.

Meanwhile the Malaysian police has given the assurance that Pulau Tioman is safe and tourists need not fear threats to their safety and security.

Pahang police chief Datuk Sharifuddin Abdul Ghani added that the murder case of French citizen Stephanie Foray was an isolated case and those responsible will be dealt according to the law.

“Tourists and residents on the island should not worry about their personal safety,” he was reportedly said by the Malaysian media.

Sharifuddin also conveyed his condolences to Foray’s family.

Well condolences to the Foray families, may justice be served swiftly. Rest in Peace Stephanie Foray, the killer has been found and will be ekecuted very soon.

492 people arrested for human trafficking in Malaysia since 2008 to July 2011

Malaysia is among havens for human trafficking or better known as modern day slavery.

On Tuesday, 23d August 2011, Malaysian media reported that a total of 492 people were arrested in Malaysia for human trafficking between 2008 and July 2011, quoting secretary of the Malaysian anti-human trafficking council (MAPO) Nasirrahman Saad Khiruddin.

Nasirrahman said said 799 victims, mostly Chinese nationals and Filipinos, were rescued during the period.

Most of the victims were brought into the country against their will for the purposes of exploitation, such as forced commercial sex and forced labour and also baby for sale.

On the smuggling of immigrants, he said 14 cases, involving 281 immigrants and 20 arrests, were recorded between November 2011 and July 2011.

Malaysia in recent years has work hard to eradicate and fight human trafficking.

Among measures taken were introducing the Anti Trafficking In Person Act 2007 and enhancing the penalty for human traffickers by way of increasing the jail terms of up to 20 years and stiffer fines which can reach 1 million Ringgit.

Unscrupolous enforcement officers were also caught.

In October 2010, 8 Malaysian Immigration officers were arrested under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for alleged involvement in human trafficking in the country.

Malaysian Home Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammudin Tun Hussein said the arrest was to show the Malaysian people as well as those internationally that the Malaysian government is committed and really serious to fighting human trafficking.

“We are serious in our efforts and we will not tolerate or allow our country being a transit point for syndicates involved in human trafficking,'' Hishammuddin said.

Malaysia and China will also sign a memorandum of understanding, MoU early September 2011 to fight human trafficking and to cooperate on security issues.

The MoU is part of Malaysia's attempt to deal directly with countries of origin, transit and destination for human trafficking, the Home Ministry said.

Human trafficking is the world's worst crime but also most lucrative and is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world, second only in terms of ill-goten revenues, to drug trafficking.

The United Nations estimated that 2.5 million people from 127 countries were human trafficking victims in 2010 alone.

In 2004 alone, the total annual revenue for trafficking in persons were estimated to be between USD $5 billion and USD $9 billion.

The crime involves the illegal trade of human beings for the purposes of reproductive slavery, commercial sexual exploitation, forced labour, or a modern-day form of slavery.

The United Nations adopted the Protocol to Prevent, Suppress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially Women and Children, in Palermo, Italy in 2000.

The Palermo Protocol is the first global, legally binding instrument on trafficking in over half a century and the only one that sets out an agreed definition of trafficking in persons.

By June 2010, the Trafficking Protocol had been ratified by 117 countries and 137 parties.

Libyan rebels seize Tripoli, Monday 22 August 2011

Libya's leader, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. He rules Libya for 42 years!!!

This is a historic victory in the holy month of Ramadhan to the Libyan rebels.

Most of Tripoli's and most of Libya are now under their control in lightning advance, ending the 6 months old civil war in Libya and ending Gaddafi's 42 years iron fist rule.

Howver the whereabouts of Muammar Gaddafi, Libya's long serving ruler or rather dictator is nowhere to be seen.

Gaddafi's last ever public speech before the fall of Tripoli. He urges Libyan "to purify those rats"!!! which means "GO KILL 'EM"!!!

Gaddafi's fiery speech in February 2011, urging to find every single person who dared to fight him, has become world famous, edited and turned into a music video entitled Zenga Zenga.

The Rebels celebrated the victory in Green Square, the symbolic heart of Muammar Gaddafi's regime.

Gaddafi's defenders quickly melted away but pockets of resistance remained.

State TV broadcast Gaddafi's bitter pleas for Libyans to defend his regime.

Opposition fighters captured his son and one-time heir apparent, Seif al-Islam, who along with his father faces charges of crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands. Another son was under house arrest.

Seif al-Islam, his father and Libya's intelligence chief were indicted earlier this year for allegedly ordering, planning and participating in illegal attacks on civilians in the early days of the violent crackdown on anti-regime protesters.

Another son, Mohammed, was under house arrest. Mohammed, who is in charge of Libyan telecommunications, appeared on the Arabic satellite channel Al-Jazeera, saying his house was surrounded by armed rebels.

"They have guaranteed my safety. I have always wanted good for all Libyans and was always on the side of God," he said. Close to the end of the interview, there was the sound of heavy gunfire and Mohammed said rebels had entered his house before the phone line cut off.

"It's over, frizz-head," chanted hundreds of jubilant men and women massed in Green Square late Sunday 21st August 2011, using a mocking nickname of the curly-haired Gaddafi.

The revelers fired shots in the air, clapped and waved the rebels' tricolor flag.

Some set fire to the green flag of Gaddafi's regime and shot holes in a poster with the leader's image.

The startling rebel breakthrough, after a long deadlock in Libya's 6-month-old civil war, was the culmination of a closely coordinated plan by rebels, NATO and anti-Gadhafi residents inside Tripoli.

Rebel fighters from the west swept over 20 miles (30 kilometers) in a matter of hours Sunday 21st August 2011, taking town after town and overwhelming a major military base as residents poured out to cheer them.

At the same time, Tripoli residents secretly armed by rebels rose up.

When rebels reached the gates of Tripoli, the special battalion entrusted by Gaddafi with guarding the capital promptly surrendered.

The reason: Its commander, whose brother had been executed by Gadhafi years ago, was secretly loyal to the rebellion.

United States President Barack Obama said Libya is "slipping from the grasp of a tyrant" and urged Gaddafi to relinquish power to prevent more bloodshed.

"The future of Libya is now in the hands of the Libyan people," Obama said in a statement from Martha's Vineyard, where he's vacationing. He promised to work closely with rebels.

By the early hours of Monday 22nd August 2011, opposition fighters controlled most of the capital.

The seizure of Green Square held profound symbolic value - the plaza was the scene of pro-Gadhafi rallies organized by the regime almost every night, and Gaddafi delivered speeches to his loyalists from the historic Red Fort that overlooks the square.

Rebels and Tripoli residents set up checkpoints around the city, though pockets of pro-Gadhafi fighters remained.

In one area, AP reporters with the rebels were stopped and told to take a different route because of regime snipers nearby.

In a series of angry and defiant audio messages broadcast on state television, definat and visibly angry Gadhafi called on his supporters to march in the streets of the capital and "purify it" of "the rats." He was not shown in the messages.

His defiance raised the possibility of a last-ditch fight over the capital, home to 2 million people.

But it seemed that significant parts of Gaddafi's regime and military were abandoning him.

His prime minister, Al-Baghdadi Al-Mahmoudi, fled to a hotel in the Tunisian city of Djerba.

It was a stunning reversal for Gadhafi, who earlier this month had seemed to have a firm grip on his stronghold in the western part of Libya, despite months of NATO airstrikes on his military which continues in the holy month of Ramadhan.

Rebels had been unable to make any advances for weeks, bogged down on the main fronts with regime troops in the east and center of the country.

Gadhafi is the Arab world's longest-ruling, most erratic, most grimly fascinating leader - presiding for 42 years over this North African desert nation with vast oil reserves and just 6 million people.

For years, he was an international pariah blamed for the 1988 bombing of a Pan Am jumbo jet over Lockerbie, Scotland, that killed 270 people.

After years of denial, Gadhafi's Libya acknowledged responsibility, agreed to pay up to $10 million to relatives of each victim, and the Libyan rule declared he would dismantle his weapons of mass destruction program.

That eased him back into the international community.

But on February 22, 2011 days after the uprising against him began, Gadhafi gave a televised speech vowing to hunt down protesters "inch by inch, room by room, home by home, alleyway by alleyway."

The speech caused a furor that helped fuel the armed rebellion against him and it has been since mocked in songs and spoofs across the Arab world.

The rebels' leadership council, based in the eastern city of Benghazi, sent out mobile text messages to Tripoli residents, proclaiming, "Long live Free Libya" and urging them to protect public property.

Internet service returned to the capital for the first time in six months.

The day's first breakthrough came when hundreds of rebels fought their way into a major symbol of the Gadhafi regime - the base of the elite 32nd Brigade commanded by Gadhafi's son, Khamis. Fighters said they met little resistance. They were 16 miles from the big prize, Tripoli.

Hundreds of rebels cheered wildly and danced as they took over the compound filled with eucalyptus trees, raising their tricolor from the front gate and tearing down a large billboard of Gadhafi. From a huge warehouse, they loaded their trucks with hundreds of crates of rockets, artillery shells and large-caliber ammunition.

One group started up a tank, drove it out of the gate, crushing the median of the main highway and driving off toward Tripoli.

The rebels also freed more than 300 prisoners from a regime lockup, most of them arrested during the heavy crackdown on the uprising in towns west of Tripoli. The fighters and the prisoners - many looking weak and dazed and showing scars and bruises from beatings - embraced and wept with joy.

The uprising against Gadhafi broke out in mid-February, 2011 and anti-regime protests quickly spread. A brutal regime crackdown quickly transformed the protests into an armed rebellion.

Rebels seized Libya's east, setting up an internationally recognized transitional government there, and two pockets in the west, the port city of Misrata and the Nafusa mountain range.

Gadhafi clung to the remaining territory, and for months neither side had been able to break the other.

In early August, 2011 however, rebels launched an offensive from the Nafusa Mountains, intending to open a new, western front to break the deadlock.

They fought their way down to the Mediterranean coastal plain, backed by NATO airstrikes, and captured the strategic city of Zawiya.

Long Live Libya... Good Bye Gaddafi or Gadhafi.. Who cares

Malaysian Sodomy Trial: Anwar Ibrahim denies he had sexual relations with Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan

In the High Court in Kuala Lumpur today, Monday 22nd August 2011, Malaysian opposition leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has denied he had any sexual relations with his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

"I state, in no uncertain terms, that I have never had any sexual relations with the complainant, Mohd Saiful.

"Saiful's allegation is a blatant and vicious lie and will be proved to be so," he told the High Court.

Anwar was opting to give his evidence from the dock, as his defence on the charge of sodomising Mohd Saiful began today, Monday 22nd August 2011.

The Opposition leader, in his statement, started off with his experience in his 1998 sodomy trial, in which he was convicted and jailed, and categorically denied the charge against him.

Anwar added that the circumstances were compelling that he elected to make a statement from the dock.

He claimed he has been deprived of a level playing field and subjected to inequality of arms vis-a-vis the prosecution.

Anwar, 63, had pleaded not guilty to committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature on Mohd Saiful at Desa Damansara Condominium in Bukit Damansara between 3.10pm and 4.30pm on June 26, 2008.

On May 16, 2011 Mohd Zabidin ordered Anwar to enter his defence after ruling that the Opposition leader's former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, the complainant in the case, was a truthful and credible witness.

Anwar Ibrahim's STATEMENT FROM THE DOCK

My name is Anwar bin Ibrahim. I am the leader of the Opposition in Parliament. In the 1990s, I was the Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister until September 1998 when then Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad sacked me after I had refused to resign. He had told me to resign or face dire consequences including criminal prosecution for alleged sexual and corruption offences. I refused and all hell broke loose. My unceremonious and grossly unjust dismissal simultaneously orchestrated with a trial by media under Mahathir’s complete control triggered mass and widespread demonstrations throughout the country and launched the movement for change and reform known in our history as the Reformasi era.

After a series of show trials during which every rule in the book on evidence and criminal procedure was violated with impunity at the hands of the prosecution and the courts, I was convicted and sentenced to a total of 15 years.
He finished reading his 32-page statement to the court at 11.47am.

Anwar's statement THE CHARGE AGAINST ME

First and foremost, I categorically deny the charge against me. I want to state in no uncertain terms that I have never had any sexual relations with the complainant Mohamed Saiful. His allegation is a blatant and vicious lie and will be proved to be so.

This is a vile and despicable attempt at character assassination. In this regard, let me reiterate that they can do all they want to assassinate my character and sully my reputation and threaten me with another 20 years of imprisonment but mark my words, they won’t be able to cow me into submission. On the contrary, it only serves to fortify my conviction that the truth will eventually prevail. Come what come may, I shall never surrender.

Anwar's statement > THE COMPLAINANT’S ALLEGATIONS ARE PURE FABRICATION

As I have said at the outset, I categorically deny the allegations made against me by the complainant.

The complainant stated in evidence on 26th June, 2008 he arrived at Kondominium Desa Damansara at 2.45 p.m. to discuss work matters and hand-over documents given to him by one Ibrahim Yaakob [my Chief of Staff] to myself. He says he stopped his van at the security post and mentioned the code name ‘Mokhtar’ to the guards at the condominium before being allowed in. He parked his vehicle and took the lift to Unit 11-5-1 where I was allegedly seated at a dining table in the living room. He says he sat down at the same table and started the discussion. He told the court of the crude manner in which I had allegedly asked for sex.

The following appears in his evidence thereafter (as attached).

When questioned, he answered that he was angry and scared and that he was not prepared to do it but purportedly because I had appeared angry, he eventually obliged. It has to be observed at this stage the complainant could have, on his own admission in examination-in-chief, left the room as there is no evidence of any attempt by me to latch the door from inside.

He had further alleged that he was ordered into the bedroom and that he did enter out of fear. Even at this stage, the complainant had the opportunity to leave the living room. He did not do so. The rest of the evidence in this regard clearly showed that the complainant had every opportunity on every occasion to flee but he did not do so. His reason was that he was petrified by fear. But such a reason flies against the facts. Here is a man in his early twenties, a six-footer, physically fit and robust and with powerful connections in the top police brass as well as the political elite with access to the very inner sanctum of power. Additionally, he has also been a key UMNO student operative, having undergone the rigorous training conducted by the Biro Tats Negara of the Prime Minister’s Department. And here I was a 60-year-old man with a history of back injury who had undergone a major back surgery holding no position of power. If indeed I could have exercised any kind of undue influence or mental pressure on him, this could have been easily neutralized by a quick phone call to his connections. As regards the fear of physical harm, it would take a great stretch of the imagination to suggest that I could pose any physical harm to him.

Under cross-examination, the following significant evidence was elicited from the complainant. He admitted that he had brought along lubricant and had himself voluntarily and without hesitation applied it. He claimed that carnal intercourse took place and that it was painful and coarse. However, this was clearly not borne out in the medical evidence in the prosecution case suggesting fissures or tears. After the alleged act, he testified that he had a drink and engaged in a friendly conversation with me. Startlingly, no attempt was made by the complainant to seek immediate medical attention. Instead, he attended a PKR function the following day. In the evening, he joined a meeting of the Anwar Ibrahim Club at my house without showing any sign of either emotional or physical discomfort let alone trauma. On the contrary, he was going about matters in a calm and confident manner. His conduct therefore is totally inconsistent with having been violated. In any event, he neither made a police report nor sought medical attention, notwithstanding that two days prior to the alleged act, he had met with Najib and Rosmah as well having talked on the phone with Musa Hassan and met with Rodhwan at a hotel.

It is obvious, from the evidence above, that the complainant was lying through his teeth although Y.A., despite the compelling evidence to the contrary, found him a truthful witness at the close of the prosecution case. This defies logic, let alone the law.

Then again, the expert evidence with regard to DNA led in the course of prosecution case through PW4, Dr. Seah Lay Hong and PW5, Nor Aidora bt Saedon was highly questionable in that crucial information pertaining to the DNA analysis of both the said witnesses which they were obliged to furnish to the court was suspiciously withheld despite them confirming the existence of such information. The real possibility that the samples analyzed were contaminated and even planted were completely disregarded despite such possibilities coming clearly within guidelines set by the international forensic community which were completely ignored, if not, blatantly disregarded by PW4 and PW5 to fit the prosecution’s case. It is obvious had the said possibilities been explored, the conclusions reached would have been very different in that the complainant’s own semen was found in his own anus, there was ample evidence of contributors other than Male Y around the complainant’s perianal, lower and higher rectal region and there was clear evidence of the samples having been tampered with before they were sent for analysis. In such circumstances, the integrity of the said samples was surely compromised. Furthermore, the impartiality of PW4 was highly questionable having regard to the way in which she completely dismissed the very high possibility that the samples sent to her would have degraded to a certain degree by the time they reached her which such degradation was completely absent from all samples in this case. This clearly points to the obvious reality that the samples sent for analysis could not have been what were extracted from the complainant’s person.

The court was adjourned to 9 am Tuesday, 23rd August 2011.

Earlier, at the start of the defence proceedings, Anwar's lead counsel Karpal Singh informed the court that his client was going to give evidence from the dock.

High Court judge, Justice Datuk Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah, said Anwar had three options - to give his evidence from the witness stand which means he can be cross-examined by the prosecution; to give his evidence from the dock which means he cannot be cross-examined by the prosecution but in coming up with a decision the court takes into account the fact that the prosecution has not cross-examined the accused; or to elect to remain silent.

My Say > From Anwar's statement, does it appears that he was present in that condominium together with Saiful Bukhari on the day of the alleged sodomy act?

Let's wait for the hearings to continue to the end.

A mother's love knows no boundary, story of a Malaysian hero mum who saved kidnapped daughter

The white BMW at the centre of the foiled kidnapping bid

Cheras Police Chief, Assistant Commisioner Mohan Singh Tara Singh showing various weaponry, found at the the kidnapper's house. Among them, two fake pump guns with detachable rifle scopes and three parangs (long knife).

A mother's love knows no bounds as is shown in the case of a businesswoman, 43, who traded places with her daughter and was kept hostage for three hours during a kidnapping in Taman Bukit Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Sunday, 21st August 2011.

Her 24-year-old daughter, also a businesswoman, who lives in Gombak, was initially abducted by a man, 32, who waited at her house before forcing her to drive to his place in Cheras about 1am.

Her hero mother alerted the police and together with a Bukit Aman team, they drove to the suspect's house.

Numerous attempts by the police to contact the man, who is a friend of the family, were in vain.

About 6am, the man was seen trying to leave the house with the victim in her car, a white BMW, but they were stopped by the police.

Negotiations continued with the victim's mother offering to take her place.

The man relented and she was held in the car with a sword at her neck.

About 10.30am, Cheras police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohan Singh Tara Singh arrived and negotiations continued.

The man finally gave in to police advice and just as he was throwing out his weapon, policemen zoomed in, smashed the car window and arrested him.

Mother and daughter escaped unscathed while the suspect, who is a money-lender, sustained neck injuries and was sent to the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital.

At a press conference later, Mohan said checks at the suspect's house led police to the seizure of two fake pump guns with detachable rifle scopes and three parang.

He said the case would be investigated under attempted murder, kidnapping, extortion and the Corrosive and Explosive Substance Act

True hero mother. Mom, you are the greatest.

Malaysian government helps to those earning RM3,000 and below monthly

This is all about money money money and this shows that the Malaysian government cares about the people's wellbeings.

The Malaysian government has directed the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) to study ways to assist those earning below RM3,000 monthly to deal with the problem of increasing prices of goods and services.

Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said the decision was made by the cabinet recently, which felt that a mechanism was needed to assist this group.

"Pemandu is looking to formulate the study into a database through a special laboratory set up for this purpose," he said in Ipoh on Sunday, 21st August 2011.

He said the laboratory would submit a summary on the study within two weeks to the Finance Ministry, before it was reviewed for inclusion in the Budget 2012.

"We expect Pemandu to complete the report within two weeks for submission to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak."

Husni said the government took a serious view of the matter because the cabinet felt that those earning below RM3,000 were greatly affected by the price increases.

Long Live Malaysia.. Long Live Najib Razak.

Malaysian police forms task force to probe shocking acid attacks

High on the Wanted List in Malaysia : A sketch of the alleged acid splasher. If you encounter this lunatic, please inform the police immediately. He is considered extremely dangerous to society. He will not hesistate to disfigure you for money. Other acid attacks in Kuala Lumpur might involve different attacker/s, according to Malaysian Police.

Police have released the sketch (above) of the man who they believe was responsible for splashing corrosive liquid on Mohd Raffie Abdul Latiff.

Mohd Raffie Abdul Latiff (picture above), 28, suffered serious facial injuries when a man splashed corrosive liquid on him at the Sogo shopping complex in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Kuala Lumpur on 8th August 2011.

It is learnt that he had earlier been involved in a minor accident with the man along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman.

As a result of the horrific attack, Mohd Raffie's face was horribly scarred and following this incident, Raffie wants everyone to be vigilant.

“This could happen to anyone. I hope that people will look out for each other and take care of themselves to avoid a similar incident,” he said.

Deputy Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigations Department chief, ACP Khairy Arasa said the sketch was made based on interviews and descriptions provided by the victim, his friend and other witnesses.

“We have also taken CCTV footage from Jalan Raja Laut and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman,” he said, adding that investigations showed that the man could also have been involved in a 12.20pm robbery on July 26, 2011.

ACP Khairy said in that July 26th 2011 case, a 35-year-old office boy was also splashed with corrosive liquid and robbed of RM18,000 near a petrol station in Jalan Sungai Besi.

“The victim had just cashed a company cheque and was on his way to the office,” he said. “When he stopped at a petrol station to use the toilet, the man splashed him before making off with the money,” he added.

He said the man, however, managed to shield himself with a bag he was holding and only suffered burns on his hand.

“In both cases, the man drove away in a black car,” ACP Khairy said, adding that checks revealed that its registration number was fake.

ACP Khairy urged anyone with information to contact Rakan Cop at 03-2115 9999 or the nearest police station.

In another case, businessman Winson Ng (picture above), who was splashed with corrosive liquid during a carjacking attempt on Monday 15th August 2011, did not suspect anything amiss when he got a flat tyre near the Batu 9 Cheras toll plaza.

“I came out of my car and saw a flat tyre. But I didn’t think anything of it at first,” the 25-year-old said when met at the Pantai Medical Centre in Cheras.

Ng, who was seriously injured in the acid attack, said two men had suddenly approached him.

“I believe they had earlier punctured my car tyre while I was having drinks with friends nearby,” he said.

Ng said although he was shocked after being splashed with the liquid, the men could not drive away because he had the car keys with him.

“They only managed to steal my laptop,” he said, adding that his face, left hand and shoulder were injured.

He said he was also having difficulty with his left eye vision.

In the latest incident in Kota Kinabalu on Wednesday 17th August 2011, a man used a water gun to spray acid on a 22-year-old woman, Ling Siew Teen (picture above).

The male assailant called out the victim's name before squirting her face with the corrosive liquid.

Siew Teen sustained serious irritation to the eyes, chin, lips and cheeks after the attack in Kolombong and warded at Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

She said everything happened so fast in the 2pm attack.

"I had just stepped out of my car when someone called out my name. I turned around and a car came towards me.

"Then, a man pointed a toy gun at me and squirted some liquid on my face. I felt a stinging pain in my eyes, irritation on my chin, lips and cheeks. I could not see and called out for help."

Her father, Richard Ling, said the attack happened just after his daughter was about to return to work after having lunch at home.

"A passer-by sent her to the hospital. The liquid appeared to have been diluted and did not seem to have inflicted serious injuries but doctors are still monitoring her condition."

Meanwhile the Malaysian police have formed a task force, comprising officers from Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, to track down the culprits behind recent acid attack cases that shocked the nation.

Malaysian CID Chief, Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Zinin

Malaysian Criminal Investigations Department, CID director Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin said on Thursday, 18th August 2011 that the police were going all-out to nail the culprits and hoped to solve the cases soon.

A composite image of one of the suspects was released to the media by police.

Mohd Bakri dismissed speculation that the attacks were related to the serial acid splasher who had injured several people since March 2011 this year.

"We have strong reasons to believe that these crimes are totally unrelated," he said in a statement.

He urged members of the public who had information on the suspects to come forward and assist the police.

One of the cases involved a despatch rider who was splashed with liquid, believed to be acid, at a petrol station in Sungai Besi before being robbed of RM18,000 on July 26, 2011.

A week before that, two siblings suffered serious injuries after a 31-year-old labourer splashed formic acid on them in front of his house in Felda Jengka 9 in Temerloh, Pahang.

The victims, Syafiq Haikal Mat Safa Zaidi, 13, and Syaffiy Aiman Mat Safa Zaidi, 10, were cycling to a friend's house about 8pm when the attack took place.

The labourer, Mohamad Hafiz Ismail, was caught and charged in court.

He was sentenced to eight years' jail and given two strokes of the rotan.

The other incident occurred beside a public toilet near Wisma Bumi Raya in Jalan Raja Laut on August 8, 2011 where a 27-year-old man was splashed with liquid believed to be acid by one of three youths who stole his money.

Four days before that, in Kota Baru, a 37-year-old car salesman suffered 17 per cent burns on his body when he was splashed with acid in Taman Uda Murni.

Earlier this year, a motorcyclist here went on a spree, splashing schoolchildren and pedestrians with a corrosive liquid, causing injuries to the victims.

That culprit is still at large and police said those attacks were carried out randomly.

Malaysians.. be vigilant and careful.. stay safe. Do we need vigilantes out there?

Vigilantes are ordinary citizens who got tired and pissed off with the high crime rates, and decided that enough is enough.

They said "Let's take the law into our own hands. Kill all those murderers, drug dealers, acid spalshers, robbers, muggers, rapists, kidnappers and other bad guys. But leave the good guys alone."!!!

Have you seen the movie - Death Wish starring Charles Bronson in 1974??

Well it is the perfect vigilante movie.

Death Wish movie was a great success. Death Wish Part 2, 3, 4 and 5 followed for a period of 20 years, the last sequel was Death Wish 5, released in 1994.

In those 5 movies, Charles Bronson played the role of Paul Kersey, not a cop, but an architect with deadly shooting skill - a sharp shooter. Kersey got fed up with the inefficiency of the New York Police to clean up the streets infested with hardcore criminals. So, he took the law into his own hands and single handedly killed as many as 300 bad guys in 5 Death Wish movies.!!!!!

Screw those acid attackers.!!

O-K-K Sedomon bin O-K-K Gunsanad descendants reject 'Rumah Besar Sedomon' as cultural heritage

Descendants of former Sabah State native leader OKK Sedomon OKK Gunsanad on Wednesday, 17th August 2011, said they have rejected the Sabah State Government's proposal to turn their ancestral home in Bingkor, Keningau, or better known as "Rumah Besar Sedomon", into a cultural heritage of the State.

Led by Nilakrisna James, Sedomon's granddaughter, and daughter of Doreen Sodomon, Sedomon's daughter, they said it was wrong for the Government not to consult the landowners.

Nilakrisna Isnarti James, grand-daughter of OKK Sedomon

Nilakrisna said she received a letter from the Director of the Sabah Museum Department on July 22, 2011, stating the Government's interest to turn the Rumah Besar Sedomon into a cultural heritage.

She, however, said the family or rather 17 descendants of her grandfather did not agree to the proposal.

"My grandfather had wanted the house to remain a pusaka (heritage) for his descendants and it is our wish the house continues to be our communal home," she said in a press conference at TNGC Clubhousei Jalan Bundusan.

Also present at the press conference were Sedomon's four daughters, Doreen, Irene, Susie and June, who also represented their children, and his granddaughter, Nelly Sedomon, who represented both her father, Peter Sedomon, and Sedomon's eldest daughter, Catherine Sedomon.

She said there is a special condition in the land title where the Rumah Besar is located, that is the "land cannot be transferred to aliens."

The pusaka (heritage) inheritance provision states that the landowners could only effectively pass their title to a direct bloodline of Sedomon, she said.

The title, she said, was issued to Sedomon on May 10, 1940 for a period of 999 years after the completion of the house.

The OKK Sedomon's Rumah Besar or Big House is situated on 12 acres of land and was built between 1937 and 1941. It took 4 years to complete as the works were done manually using very basic tools whereby every piece of timber was cut to the required specifications.

The timbers used in the construction were from the jungle, about 40 to 50 kilometres away from the house, transported using a "Guyudan" a Dusun term for a buffalo-drawn cart.

The workers of the house were generally of Chinese origin and they were instructed by OKK Sedomon to build a house which imitated the architecture of early 18th century Malay Sultanate palaces.

The house had a dining passage in the ground floor, a gathering area for festive season or villagers gathering for Tapai drinking session. Tapai is Sabah's traditional rice wine and is stronger than beer, stout and whiskey.

In 1942, the family who lived at the house or Rumah Besar was forced to leave by the brutal Japanese military who used that house as their dwellings during World War II.

The brutal war caused great distress and loss to the family, their farms and live-stocks were completely destroyed by the marauding Japanese army.

Shoot outs between the Japanese Imperial Army and the Australian military also happened right in the Rumah Besar or Big House.

Today, bullet holes can still be seen on that house. Even a small pond was created at the side of the house, caused by bombs.

Many prominent figures, important people and distinguished guests visited the house.

They included Sir William Goode the former Governer of British North Borneo, Right Honourable Duncan Sandys, British Minister for Commonwealth Relations, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the 1st Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Razak Hussein (second Prime Minister of Malaysia), Tun Datu Mustapha Datu Harun (former Chief Minister of Sabah), Tun Mohammed Fuad Stephens (former Chief Minister and Governor of Sabah), Tun Ahmad Koroh (former Governor of Sabah),

"Upon Sedomon's death (on 8th March 1966), the land was declared by the Registrar to vest upon Sedomon's 10 children and bypassed his wives, whom at that time, were considered 'alien' to the bloodline and therefore not entitled to inherit the land," Nilakrisna said.

Despite no one staying in the big house, she said family members have been using it regularly for celebrations such as weddings, Kaamatan Festival and also for funeral ceremony.

To this, Nilakrisna said the law was not created to arbitrarily bypass the terms and conditions of land titles and deprive private owners of their right to use, to have and to hold their property and homes in peace without government interference and intervention.

She said if the Government used the Cultural Heritage (Conservation) Enactment 1997 to bypass specific terms and conditions and allowed the "alien" Council under the enactment to simply bulldoze its way into private properties on the pretext that their homes looked architecturally historical, then owners in this State might as well demolish and build their homes every 10 years or design space age homes.

She said they have a right to live in their homes and all present owners should have the priority to decide how they wish to maintain, decorate, renovate and develop their own homes and land.

Moreover, she said, the Rumah Besar Sedomon is not the only old home in Sabah that survived the war and nor is it architecturally unique.

There are houses with similar design such as in Tuaran, she said.

"Since 1963 until today, neither the State Government nor the Federal Government nor any of the State leaders, past or present, has bothered to fight for the Sedomon name to have any historical relevance in the history books, the museums or anywhere else," she said.

Sedomon's name, she said, has almost been obliterated.

"He was never important enough to this country to even be accorded any State award, not even BK (Bintang Kinabalu), let alone the title 'Datuk', which many have wrongly been reported in the media," she said.

The booklet "OKK Sedomon Bin OKK Gunsanad and His Rumah Besar" she co-wrote with Sedomon's ninth daughter, in June 1997, is the only one dedicated by way of a biography. There are only 5,000 copies in circulation.

Therefore, the sudden interest in the Rumah Besar and the lucrative 12 acres in Bingkor clearly has nothing to do with Sedomon's incredible leadership or the ordinary architecture, and any excuse by the Council to that effect would just be an act of hypocrisy, she said.

She said in the next 928 years, the land property shall be vested in Sedomon's bloodline and not be vested in or controlled by or monitored by alien persons, alien companies, alien councils or alien committees or anything alien from anywhere.

It is unconscionable that an Act passed in 1997 should undo the noble intentions of the North Borneo Government under the British for Sedomon, who was awarded the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, MBE by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to the British Empire.

"If the people in this country choose to ignore his illustrious life, I am sure Sedomon would not be bothered.

"But he would have vomited blood if he knew that his direct descendants will be in any way challenged or limited in the way they choose to live in his house or his land by the decision of aliens in an alien Council appointed by the State Government," she said.

To this, she said the State Government should respect and prioritise the decisions and rights of private landowners.

There are many hundred-year-old houses in Britain and Australia and the governments there, she said, do not interfere with private ownership that makes private investors confident that buying an ancient home is a good investment.

The Government should look into how Britain does it with the National Trust, which is not run by the government of Britain.

She also expressed the family's apology to the Prime Minister and his family for a report that quoted her uncle, Justine Sedomon, which has not been authorised by any other members of the Sedomon family.

The opinions and statements made in the report, she said, belong exclusively to Justine Sedomon and do not reflect the family's views.

The late OKK Sedomon Bin OKK Gunsanad along with his younger brother GS Sundang (former Deputy Minister of Sabah) were two prominent native leaders in Sabah before Sabah gained Independence from the British North Borneo on 31st August 1963 and subsequently formed Malaysia together with Sarawak and Singapore on 16th September 1963.

OKK Sedomon opposed the Malaysia's federation proposal on the ground that his people were not ready for such a political arrangement. He instead preferred self-government and independence to come gradually for Sabah.

Has Sedomon's far sighted wish came true, Sabah would have been an independent nation today, just like Singapore and Brunei who prospers more than Sabah despite much less in size. Singapore as we know does not have rich natural resources and minerals as enjoyed by Sabah such as Oil and Gas, Palm Oil and world class tourism destinations, and yet Singapore is more prosperous in terms of GDP than Sabah.

When the Malaysia federation proposal was presented, OKK Sedomon felt that the native people of North Borneo were politically too immature to participate meaningfully in the new federation. He through Pasok Momogun urged that the native people should be educated and the territory be developed. Only after all these had been done, Sabah would be in a better position to make a decision on the proposed Malaysia federation.

OKK Sedomon was born in 1894 and died in 1966 at the age of 72 years old.

During his lifetime, OKK Sedomon was noted for his achievement in the British North Borneo and awarded the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 9th June 1961.

He took over his father, OKK Gunsanad Kina as the District Chief in 1936 and assumed this role until his death in 1966.

Sedomon was also the Native Chief. Any disputes among the villagers in the remote place called Keningau, were brought to him to be settled amicably, according to the native customary laws.

OKK Sedomon active political career began in 1962 under UPKO or United National Pasok Momogun Organisation, led by himself and his younger brother, GS Sundang, which represented the native people of Sabah or rather known as North Borneo at that material time.

Pasok Momogun controlled and gained majority support of the indigenous people in the inland districts of Sabah whereas another party known as UNKO (United National Kadazan Organisation), formed in 1961 by Donald Stephens, later known as Tun Mohd Fuad Stephens, commanded the support of those on the coastal areas of North Borneo.

Misunderstandings and differences in opinions between UNKO and Pasok Momogun possibly created the beginnings of a politically terminological division between the Natives of North Borneo.

Donald Stephens waged an aggresive campaign to replace the term "Dusun" by "Kadazan" adn this was strongly opposed by GS Sundang who suggested that it was not appropriate to homogenise all Natives in North Borneo as "Kadazan".

OKK Sedomon is fondly remembered by all who knew him as a great man with few words. Throughout his life, he dedicated his life for the people, his people, the Natives of North Borneo, later known as Sabah.

OKK Sedomon who had 4 wives, died suddenly and mysteriously from unknown causes on 8th March 1966 after returning from a dinner party.

His legacy lives on.

Rest in Peace Sir...

Wakil keluarga OKK Sedomon, Nilakrisna James berkata “any owner if just 1 owner says no, that no should be respected, that right of veto is there because ultimately what Sedomon wold have wanted is pusaka, what Sedomon would have wanted, he would not have signed this lease unless he said i want that house to forever house my descendants”

Pingat MBE

OKK Sedomon pernah dianugerahkan pingat the most excellence member of the British Empire atau MBE oleh Ratu Elizabeth 2 pada 9 Jun 1961.
