Criminal syndicate in Malaysia using sound of crying child to dupe parents to part with huge sums of money

However the Malaysian Cops has identified the syndicate using sound of crying child to dupe parents. Hardened criminals will go at length to dupe and get money illegally. So why not, just shoot them!!! When those criminals are dead and lifeless, they can't commit crime anymore, am i right?

According to the Star newspaper, the Malaysian police have identified a syndicate that uses the sound of a crying child to dupe parents into believing their child had been kidnapped and gets them to pay ransom.

Only later do the parents realise the child had been safe in school, all along.

Serdang Commercial Crimes Investigation department chief Assitant Superitendent Azani Saupi said his men had identified the syndicate that had tricked at least four victims into handing over a total sum of RM57,000.

“After the victims bank in or place the money in a specified post box, there is no communication. Only later do they realise their children had been safe in school,”.

He said parents, who receive the purported kidnapper's call, hear a crying child and immediately panic into thinking it was their child and follow instructions from the syndicate without double checking to ascertain if their child had indeed been abducted.

ASP Azani said investigations revealed the syndicate did background checks on their victims such as the way the children call their parents.

He said the syndicate had been active since early last year and police believe that at least six other parents had been approached by the same syndicate but had not fallen for their trick.

He advised parents to check with the school or alert the police immediately when they receive such calls.

Meanwhile, ASP Azani revealed that a total of 24 police reports were received about cases of African parcel scams totalling RM331,500 last year in the Serdang area alone.

He said the victims had dealing with the syndicate to obtain items such as a property or jewellery but had to fork out large sum of cash for purported documentation purposes.

“There was even a case last year where a Dutch man lost RM600,000 after he was promised a local woman as a wife,” he said.

The self proclaimed Emperor of Indonesia who claims to be the richest person on Earth with 5 Trillion Euros!!

“This means that 86.7% of the world's money belongs to me,” he said.
The crazy guy who is also known as Raden Mas Prabhu Gusti Agung Ki Asmoro Wijoyo, who claimes to be the Emperor of Indonesia and has 5 Trillion Euros in Cash!!!!!!!!!!!

As written by Philip Golingai, The Star

A Tanjung Malim, Perak, Malaysa -born Dutch citizen claims he is a descendent of the Emperor of China and that his bloodline is linked to royal families in India, Java and Siam.

IT is not every day that you get to meet a trillionaire. So when I was invited to interview Kamal Ashnawi, a person I've never heard of, I said yes.

On Saturday morning, 21st January 2012, at a Kuala Lumpur hotel coffee house together with two of Kamal's aides, I waited for the so-called trillionaire.

Wearing a baseball cap, long-sleeved shirt and jeans, he sauntered over to our table. The two aides bowed, pressed their palms together to their forehead as if greeting royalty and kissed his hands.

“We call him Tuanku as he is a sultan from Indonesia,” one of the aides whispered to me.

According to Kamal, he is a Dutch citizen born in Tanjung Malim, Perak, on January 1st, 1964.

“I'm a descendent of the Emperor of China and in a history that went haywire, my family fled from China to Kedah. I traced my bloodline to the royal families of China, India, Java and Siam,” claimed the man who is also known as Raden Mas Prabhu Gusti Agung Ki Asmoro Wijoyo.

“I grew up in Tanjung Malim and my family here is very simple and ordinary. Nobody in my family talks about our royal blood and wealth. But my grandmother once told me: “You are special and, when the time comes, you will know.”

It was in Holland in the late 1980s that Kamal “found out who he really was”. A member of an Indonesian royal family, kicked out of the country by president Sukarno, told him he was of royal blood.

In London in the early 1990s, a lawyer told Kamal about his royal family's massive wealth. Unconvinced, he told the lawyer to prove his claims.

He and the lawyer flew from London to Hong Kong to meet the “keeper of the royal treasure”. From there, Kamal and the keeper travelled to Kunming in China.

They hiked up a mountain for four hours and reached a cave guarded by an old couple who, Kamal says, are immortals.

“If you tried to pass them without their blessing, you would cough blood and die,” he said.

Inside the three-metre-high cave, Kamal saw gold bars stacked like a pagoda, US$15 million (RM46million) in jade and US$10 million (RM31 million) in diamonds and stacks of US dollars.

“I took a gold bar and knocked it on a rock. It was really gold. The treasure is the wealth of the dynasties that ruled China. Their wealth was also kept in other mountains and in vaults all over the world,” he said.

About three years ago, when Kamal watched Nicholas Cage's movie National Treasure, he laughed.

“The treasure in the movie was small compared to the wealth I saw in the mountain,” he said.

Next, Kamal told of his meeting two years ago in Kuala Lumpur with Dr Wong Eng Po, a royal physician from China.

Dr Wong placed his hand on Kamal's bald head, then immediately bowed in front of Kamal and ordered his five followers to do the same.

“He said I was the reincarnation of Emperor Nurhaci (1661-1626) of China. He felt an energy on my head which was superhuman because an emperor, unlike an ordinary human, has to think more.

“I'm the reincarnation of two emperors of China,” Kamal added.

He elaborated that a few years ago, the royal family decided he would be the sole administrator of the royal wealth kept in secret accounts in about 1,000 banks worldwide.

“This means that 86.7% of the world's money belongs to me,” he said.

Taking out several folders, Kamal said: “You're lucky, I brought documents.”

He produced an A4-sized paper with the photographs of the national treasure, the immortal couple and several “official-looking” letters allegedly from HSBC certifying he has an account of five trillion euros (RM20 trillion).

“That is a small amount. I have more money in other banks and institutions,” he added.

I wondered why his name has not appeared in the Forbes' list of world's richest people. And a suspicion lingered about his claims.

However, I could not authenticate his documents since the bank was closed for Chinese New Year.

Kamal has not made any withdrawal from the account as “it is not money that you can move just like that”.

“The money is under the control of Indonesia, Germany, Britain, the US and the Euro Central Bank and I've got to go smooth with them,” he said.

“I can't use the money directly but I will invest in certain projects. Like three trillion euros (RM12 trillion) to green a desert in China.” (only a true lunatic will say things like that!!!!!!)

Curious, I asked what was the difference between a billionaire and a trillionaire.

He replied: “A billionaire needs to show he has the money. But for me, I don't need to show that I got money. I can travel in a bus. I can wear slippers.”

Born in the year of the dragon, Kamal believes 2012 is his year. In March, he says he will negotiate with institutions such as the IMF to be recognised as the Emperor of Indonesia.

He says he's rich. But his story could just be as rich.

Let's hope he is not another Elie Youssef Najem, the so-called Lebanese billionaire who made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

In Malaysia, even prominent businessmen, lawyers and professionals borrow from Loan Sharks, not Banks

Banks in Malaysia are notorious for not giving and approving loans, be it personal loans or business loans to customers. Banks in Malaysia will scrutinise every details of your past financial histories before deciding to give you the much awaited and much anticipated loans. If you have bad financial records like non performing loans, non payment of any type of loans, housing loans, car loans, personal loans, wedding loans and credit cards, then you can forget about your loan applications.

Merchant and Commercial Banks have solid connections with Bank Negara Malaysia, the central bank of Malaysia. Bank Negara in turns has all your financial records known as CTOS or CCRIS which stands for Central Credit Reference Information System.

CCRIS is a system that collects credit information on borrowers from financial institutions and supplies the information back to them. This is one of the sources of information used by financial institutions to help them establish a view of the credit histories of potential or current borrowers. Bank Negara Malaysia says in it's website that CCRIS is not a blacklist system as perceived by some people, but to me CCRIS is the blacklist system indeed. CCRIS is the Banks' Angel of Death!

Bank Negara Malaysia created CCRIS because one of its functions is to regulate and supervise the financial institutions so that the financial system of the country would be sound and stable. As such, the Bank promotes prudent credit policies and professionalism among the financial institutions, including the adoption of best business practices in credit risk management. One way of doing this is by providing CCRIS to the financial institutions so that they can make faster and better informed lending decisions.

The shocking truth is that, many professionals such as lawyers and VIPs failed in obtaining loans from the various banks in Malaysia.

As such, they resorted to borrowing money from legal and illegal money lenders known locally as "Ah Longs" or Loan Sharks.

These Ah Longs easily give you loans for any purposes in one day, without asking much questions. The only things that matters is that you pay the interests and base lending amount, in the agreed time. Failure to do so will result in severe 'penalty'!

So you get your loans but the price is damn expensive, you have to pay much much higher interests rates, sometimes 10 % daily or 10% per month, depending on the Ah Longs.

Sometimes it is ridiculous because if you borrow RM1,000 from these Ah Longs, the total amount that you have to payback to settle your loan is RM10,000 or RM100,000.!!

But you are left with no choice if you are in dire need of money.

Money loaned from Ah Longs is best used for good purposes only. Investing them in immoral activities like gambling always result in tragedies like committing suicide as being reported by the media many many times before.

People who borrowed from Ah Longs come from many walks of life, be it ordinary workers, middle income earners, high income earners and professionals like lawyers.

This was proven in a news report, published by The Star today, 4th October 2011.

The story reported that the Malaysian police recently busted and arrested 2 Ah Longs who catered to upmarket clients and only gave out loans exceeding RM200,000.

Police were surprised to discover that their clientele included top businessmen and professionals.

Sources said police found a ledger with more than 200 names of prominent businessmen, lawyers and other professionals when they arrested the two money lenders.

It is learnt that they charged an interest rate of 10% for every 10 days.

The two, aged 37 and 38, are believed to have given out loans totalling more than RM10mil based on the record of loan transactions over a period of two years.

The duo are known to use several harassment tactics including making threatening calls and visiting the homes of victims and forcing their family members to pay up.

Following a complaint, a surveillance team observed the duo's operations and they were arrested near a hotel in the city on Sept 29, 2011.

A Toyota Camry which belonged to them was also seized and numerous bank slips were discovered inside, the news report said.

Police investigations are ongoing and did not rule out that Datuks (prominent titles given to VIPs) and other prominent figures might have also borrowed from the duo.

Police are also investigating if the suspects were involved in other criminal activities.

The case is being investigated under the Money Lenders Act 1951.

Malaysian government helps to those earning RM3,000 and below monthly

This is all about money money money and this shows that the Malaysian government cares about the people's wellbeings.

The Malaysian government has directed the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) to study ways to assist those earning below RM3,000 monthly to deal with the problem of increasing prices of goods and services.

Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said the decision was made by the cabinet recently, which felt that a mechanism was needed to assist this group.

"Pemandu is looking to formulate the study into a database through a special laboratory set up for this purpose," he said in Ipoh on Sunday, 21st August 2011.

He said the laboratory would submit a summary on the study within two weeks to the Finance Ministry, before it was reviewed for inclusion in the Budget 2012.

"We expect Pemandu to complete the report within two weeks for submission to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak."

Husni said the government took a serious view of the matter because the cabinet felt that those earning below RM3,000 were greatly affected by the price increases.

Long Live Malaysia.. Long Live Najib Razak.

Genting Berhad Chairman and Chief Executive, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay is the highest paid director in Malaysia in 2010 with RM 106 Million

Genting Berhad Chairman and Chief Executive, Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay. He is the son of Genting founder the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong

According to a Malaysian Business survey released on Tuesday 16th August 2011, the top 20 companies in Malaysia forked out RM455.6 million last year, up 22 per cent from 2009, to pay directors remuneration.

Close to 270 directors out of the 600 companies polled drew more than RM1 million in remuneration.

Top of the list is Malaysia's casino and resort giant, Genting Berhad who paid a single director up to RM106 million last year in 2010. That works out to be a monthly salary of RM8.89 million or a GIGANTIC RM296,000 or USD 98,666 PER DAY!!! Wow, what a Price Tag!!

Genting Bhd kept its top spot from 2009 with a total board payout of RM111.48 million, an increase of 21 per cent from 2009. The gaming conglomerate also had the highest remuneration band of RM106.65 million to RM106.7 million for a single director but did not name him.

The top executive listed is its executive chairman and chief executive Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay.

This comes as a no surprise because Genting Group which consists of Genting Malaysia, Genting Singapore and Genting Plantations is among Malaysia's biggest companiy.

It employs over 58,000 globally and possesses 4,500 acres of prime resort land and 133,500 acres of land for plantation.

Genting group's combined market capitalisation amounts to US$46 billion as of 31 May 2011 and possesses assets totaling US$13.5 billion

Coming in a distant second was IOI Corp Bhd, which paid its board RM56.29 million — up a whopping 71 per cent from the previous year — with almost all of it going to the plantation and property concern’s top executive, whose payout band was almost doubled from RM25-30 million to RM53.1 million.

“We assume that the recipient was IOI Corp director and founder Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng,” Malaysian Business said in a statement today Tuesday 16th August 2011.

Genting subsidiary Genting Malaysia Bhd, which paid out more than RM42 million to its top executive, took third spot. The survey noted, however, that the payout might have been made to the same person after taking into account the possibility of double counting.

Money Money Money

Other companies that increased their board payout include YTL Corp Bhd (RM34.44 million from RM22.04 million), AirAsia Bhd (RM18.33 million from RM10.66 million) and Berjaya Corp Bhd (RM23.62 million from RM20.84 million).

Malaysian Business also noted that some companies continued to dish out large remunerations to its directors despite suffering “huge losses” last year.

But some companies, notably CIMB Group Bhd, also lowered their board remunerations last year.

Even CIMB chief Datuk Seri Nazir Razak took a pay cut even as other top listed companies upped board payouts in 2010 on the back of improved economic conditions.

CIMB, the banking group paid RM18.51 million to its directors last year, 13 per cent less than in 2009, with managing director and chief executive Datuk Seri Nazir taking home RM12 million compared to RM14.5 million previously.

Likewise, DRB-Hicom Bhd paid its board RM6.31 million last year compared to RM7.54 million in 2009 and British American Tobacco Bhd slashed its remuneration to RM8.22 million from RM11.38 million.

Both Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd and SP Setia Bhd also nudged their payouts down to RM9.08 million and RM20.44 million respectively.

The full results of the annual survey can be found in today’s edition, Tuesday 16th August 2011 of Malaysian Business.

Even tough Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay is the highest paid director in Malaysia last year in 2010, the richest person in Malaysia is not him. The honour still belongs to Tan Sri Robert Kuok (picture above) with assets worth RM 37.5 Billion or USD 12.5 Billion!!!

Kuok's business empire ranges from sugarcane plantations (Perlis Plantations Bhd), sugar refineries, flour milling, animal feed, oil, mining, finance, hotels, properties, trading, freight and publishing.

His biggest source of wealth is stake in Wilmar International, the world's largest listed palm oil company.

Barack Obama, debt deal reached

Whatever the super powers do, we have to give attention for it will affect us.

Republican and Democratic leaders have agreed on a plan to raise the United States debt ceiling, President Barack Obama announced Sunday night, 31th July 2011.

The announcement arrives after months of intense closed-door negotiations, and just two days before the deadline set by the Treasury Department.

According to the details available, the agreement would slow the growth of government spending over the next decade by $2-$3 trillion and allow enough borrowing to put off another vote to raise the ceiling to 2013.

About $1 trillion will be cut immediately, and the details of the remaining spending reductions will be handled by a bipartisan committee of 12 lawmakers from both chambers, who will recommend cuts for Congress to vote on. To appease the GOP's conservative wing, the deal would also require a vote in both chambers on an amendment to the Constitution requiring the federal government to balance its budget each year.

"I want to announce that the leaders of both parties, in both chambers, have reached an agreement that will reduce the deficit and avoid default--a default that would have had a devastating effect on our economy," Obama said. "Now, is this the deal I would have preferred? No. . . . But this compromise does make a serious down payment on the deficit reduction we need, and gives each party a strong incentive to get a balanced plan done before the end of the year."

House Speaker John Boehner held a conference call Sunday evening with House Republicans in which he urged them to support the package, declaring that the deal in place "meets our principles of smaller government."

"There is a framework in place that would cut spending by a larger amount than we raise the debt limit, and cap future spending to limit the growth of government," he said, according to a transcript provided by Boehner's office. "Now listen, this isn't the greatest deal in the world. But it shows how much we've changed the terms of the debate in this town."

With the approval of leaders of the House and Senate, and Tuesday's deadline looming, Congress must act quickly to convince enough members to seal the deal with a vote on Monday. The deal will require bipartisan support due to the opposition within factions of both parties.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Majority Leader Harry Reid will both present the deal to their caucus Monday at 11 a.m. with a vote expected afterward.

God Bless the World.

Malaysia's biggest jackpot winners!!!

Preseverence and team-works catapulted 16 lucky Malaysians from Sabah into instant millionaires.

They won Malaysia's biggest ever lottery jackpot of RM48 Million or approximately USD 16 million!!!

According to sources, the 16 male gamblers, all Chinese, betted on the same sets of number for 2 weeks or 5 draws in a row, investing a total of RM2,000 in total or a mere RM125 (USD 41.6) each.

Well, their investment paid handsomely.

To the envy of millions of gamblers in Malaysia, the lucky 16 struck The Supreme Toto 6/58 jackpot of almost RM48 million.

They played System 9 containing the numbers -- 2, 3, 8, 19, 23, 27, 28, 31 & 56 -- and six of these numbers -- 8, 19, 23, 28, 31, and 56 -- came out as the winning combination.

The numbers eventually won the snowball jackpot of Supreme Toto 6/58, which totalled RM47.84 million.

On top of that, because they had bet on System 9, they won an additional RM127,744, bringing the total winnings to RM47.97 million.

System 9 allows players to choose nine numbers from one to 58 and created 84 combinations of six numbers, which increased their chances.

The winners, between the ages of 30 and 50, had agreed to share their fortune among themselves in varying sums depending on their investments.

They found out about their winnings when one of them saw it in the Sports Toto website on Saturday,16 April 2011 before contacting the rest of the group.

With this payout, and the Mega Toto 6/52 jackpot of RM17.7 million that was paid out 10 days earlier, Sports Toto had paid out a total of RM65.5 million in less than two weeks.

Happy holidays you lucky freaks!!!

Malaysian Businesswoman in Ponzi scheme gets 120 years in jail, RM5 million fine

Well this must be one of the biggest fraud cases in Malaysian history. And this particular case involves a woman, which is more trustworthy in money sense.

So Malaysians, beware...

As reported by The Star online on 10th January 2011

KUALA LUMPUR: A businesswoman was sentenced to a total of 120 years in jail and fined RM5mil for swindling 4,000 people in an illegal investment scheme.

Raja Noor Asma Raja Harun, 49, pleaded guilty Monday to offences related to the Anti-Money Laundering Act and the Securities Commission, after 18 witnesses testified from Aug 5 last year.

She was alleged to have fleeced 4,000 investors and earned herself millions during the year she was running her wealth management business, without having either a fund manager's licence or a futures broker's licence.

Raja Noor Asma had pleaded guilty to receiving, using or having in possession of illegal proceeds obtained through a Ponzi scheme at various banks between 2007 and 2008.

(A Ponzi scheme is said to be a swindle in which quick returns on an initial investment, mostly with money from new investors, lures the victim into bigger risks.)

A Sessions Court here sentenced her to a total of 100 years in prison – two years' imprisonment for each of 50 counts of money laundering – under the Anti-Money Laundering Act.

She will, however, serve only two years after judge S.M. Komathy Suppiah ordered her jail terms to run concurrently.

Raja Noor Asma, a director of FX Capital Consultant (M) Sdn Bhd and FX Consultant, was also fined RM5mil and jailed a total of 20 years for various charges related to the Securities Commission.

She will, however, serve just five years for these offences, as Komathy also ordered the sentences related to the commission to run concurrently.

In all Raja Noor Asma will spend seven years in prison for her offences, committed from 2007 to 2008.

"Deterrence and denunciation are the two primary considerations taken into account in crafting an appropriate sentence in this case.

"The offences committed by the accused are serious and public confidence in the court would be corroded if offenders who deceive the public are given lenient sentence," said Komathy.

Raja Noor Asma admitted to committing the offences at the company's premises in Rawang between February 2007 and May 2008.

The court has set April 1 to hear claims by investors over their investments in the scheme in an attempt to recover their money.

Economic theory - the Bailout package

This is a simple Economic Theory where a single 100 dollar note can pay off debts to up to 10 people. This is called the bail-out package.

Picture this :

It is a slow day in a damp little Malaysian town.

The rain is beating down and the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt, and everybody lives on credit.

On this particular day a rich German tourist is driving through the town, stops at the local hotel and lays a €100 note on the desk, telling the hotel owner he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one to spend the night.

The owner gives him some keys and, as soon as the visitor has walked upstairs, the hotelier grabs the €100 note and runs next door to pay his debt to the butcher.

The butcher takes the €100 note and runs down the street to repay his debt to the goat farmer.

The goat farmer takes the €100 note and heads off to pay his bill at the supplier of feed and fuel.

The guy at the Farmers' Co-op takes the €100 note and runs to pay his drinks bill at the local pub.

The pub owner then slips the money along to the local hooker drinking at the bar, who has also been facing hard times and has had to offer him "services" on credit.

The hooker then rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill to the hotel owner with the €100 note.

The hotel proprietor then places the €100 note back on the counter so the rich German traveller will not suspect anything.

At that moment the traveller from Frankfurt, Germany comes down the stairs, picks up the €100 note, states that the rooms are not satisfactory, pockets the money, and leaves town.

So in the end, no one produced anything. No one earned anything.

However, the whole town is now out of debt and looking to the future with a lot more optimism.

And that,

Ladies and Gentlemen, is how the bailout package works...!!!!

Malaysian housewife conned of RM245,000!!!

Cheating cases like these are rampant in Malaysia. Numerous cases of so called talismen or religious men, claimed to have super-powers in prediciting the correct number of the winning lottery numbers, cheating unsuspecting vistims, had been reported many many times. And yet, gullible people especially housewives continue to be the victim of this smooth talking conmen!!

So ladies and gentlemen out there - BEWARE...

The latest case where a housewife from Kuala Lumpur was cheated of RM 245,000 was reported on 23 November 2010 by The Star, Malaysia's number 1 newspaper.

The full report here :

A housewife’s greed caused her to lose RM244,708 of her savings to a “sifu” who promised her at least RM1 million in prize-winning four-digit numbers.

MCA Public Services and Complaints Bureau chief Datuk Michael Chong said the woman, who only wanted to be known as Yeoh, 57, had received a brochure offering to change her luck.

“The brochure had a name and the telephone number of a feng shui ‘sifu’ as well as the testimonies of those who had apparently benefited from his predictions.

“The sifu promised to give four-digit numbers that would change her luck and make her reap five times the sum of money she invested,” he told reporters here yesterday.

He said Yeoh then contacted the “sifu”, who requested her to bank in RM244,708 into five bank accounts to buy religious items for prayers.

Chong said Yeoh banked in all her savings on Oct 20 and had even intended to borrow more money from her daughter.

He said the daughter, however, realised that her mother had been cheated and lodged a police report on Oct 27.

He added that according to statistics, 19 people, mostly housewives and businessmen, had been victims of similar fraud involving about RM930,000 since 2007.

“I urge the public who come across suspicious individuals to quickly lodge a police report,” Chong said.

If you want to earn more money than the Prime Minister, then work in the British public sector

British Prime Minister David Cameron currently earns £142,500

Most public sector employees in the world, earn less than what the head of Governments earn in their monthly or annual paycheck.

This depends on the economy and Gross Domestic Product of the nations.

For example, Singapore Prime Minister as well as the cabinet minister, earn millions in their monthly salaries and the civil servants in Singapore may not earn more than the cabinet ministers.

However in Britain, more than 9,000 public sector employees are reportedly earning a higher wage than the British Prime Minister himself, who has previously questioned pay levels in top jobs.

The British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC reported today 20th September 2010 that new research conducted for BBC Panorama found that there were more than 38,000 public employees earning above £100,000 and 1,000 people on more than £200,000 in Britain.

David Cameron took a 5% pay cut when he took office and earns £142,500.

Details from 2,400 public bodies puts the number of high earners far above previous estimates.

The salary details come as the government warns that public spending needs to be drastically curbed.

The government has already revealed that pay for the top 5% of earners in the public sector has risen by 51% in the past 10 years.

The British Prime Minister and his cabinet took the 5% pay cut when they formed the government at a time of record deficits and a sluggish economy.

In collaboration with the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, Panorama requested pay details from most of the UK's publicly funded organisations, including local authorities, schools, universities, the BBC, the NHS and the government agencies known as quangos.

Across the UK, the NHS has the highest number of high earners, with more than 26,000 people on more than £100,000.

Of those, nearly 6,500 earn more than Mr Cameron. The top NHS earner is a GP on at least £475,000 and seven out of the top 10 in the NHS are GPs.

The facts are :

38,045 earn over £100,000

1,000 earn over £200,000

9,187 earn more than PM

10 GPs earn over £300,000

1 GP in Hillingdon PCT earns £475,000

17 teachers earn more than PM

331 BBC managers earn more than £100,000

362 local council employees earn more than PM

The database, compiled from both public records and freedom of information requests, excludes some major publicly owned corporations, including Royal Mail, Network Rail and Channel 4 because they operate largely as commercial concerns.

The BBC's salaries were included because the BBC is funded by the £145.50 licence fee paid by UK households. There are 331 managers at the BBC earning more than £100,000.

Lucy Adams, the head of BBC People, said the corporation needs to compete with the private sector for top talent in the media and entertainment industries. She said the BBC is dealing with the issue of executive pay.

She added that Director General Mark Thompson - who for the year 2009/10 received a total remuneration of £838,000 including base pay of £668,000 and £7,000 in benefits in addition to a £163,000 pension payment - and other senior managers at the BBC had taken pay cuts: "We have given up, all the executives have given up two months' pay. We have had a pay freeze for the next four years."

Well - this is another reason why footballers around the globe, are dying to play in the English Premier Leauge. Certain footballers like Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand and also Frank Lampard and John Terry earn at least £80,000 a week.

That is a hell of a money.. The are getting paid handsomely doing what they like most - playing football..!!

Former Malaysian Transport Minister and former MCA president Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik has become the highest-ranking person yet to be charged with cheating the Government over the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal and he pleaded not guilty.

The party stalwart — the fifth person to be charged over the PKFZ saga — is out on a RM1 million bail after appearing at the Putrajaya Sessions Court on 29th July, 2010.

Accompanied by his wife Toh Puan Ena Ling and sons Hee Leong and Hee Keat, Dr Ling later told reporters that he had faith in the country’s judicial system.

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said he was shocked by the charge, but expressed confidence that Dr Ling would get a fair trial.

MCA is Malaysia's 2nd biggest political party after UMNO, and form the backbone of the Barisan Nasional, the ruling coalition of component parties that rule Malaysia since independence in 1957.

Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik has been charged with cheating the Government over the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal and he now faces up to seven years in prison.

The 67-year-old former Transport Minister, believed to be the first Tun in the country to be prosecuted in a court of law, was later granted a RM1mil bail by Judge Suzana Hussin with one surety.

He was accused in the Sessions Court here of knowingly deceiving the Cabinet to approve a land purchase in Pulau Indah for the purpose of the Mega Distribution Hub project in Port Klang, which resulted in wrongful losses to the Government.

The offence was allegedly committed at the Prime Minister’s office here between Sept 25 and Nov 6, 2002.

Dr Ling, the longest-serving MCA president, claimed trial to the first charge of cheating under Section 418 of the Penal Code and an alternative charge under Section 417 for an alleged offence committed at the same time and place.

He faces up to seven years in jail for the first charge and up to five years’ imprisonment under the alternative charge. Both carry a fine.

The prosecution, which came as a shock to the nation, was the result of a joint probe by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, MACC and the police.

Dressed in dark-coloured pants and a blue striped shirt, Dr Ling, from Air Tawar, Perak, appeared calm in the dock and requested that his charges be read in English.

He said “not guilty” when asked for his plea.

Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail, who is leading the four-man prosecution team, told the court that the charges were bailable offences and proposed a RM1 million bail to which the defence had no objection.

In mitigation, defence counsel Datuk R.R. Sethu said Dr Ling was a long-serving civil servant and gave assurances that he would not abscond.

He also applied for the next mention date to be set a month from yesterday.

Judge Suzana then fixed Sept 3 for mention.

Dr Ling, who posted the bail, was later seen shaking hands with the lawyers present after court proceedings ended at 5pm.

His wife Toh Puan Ena Ling and sons Hee Leong and Hee Keat were also present.

When met outside the courtroom, Dr Ling told reporters: “When you are at the Palace of Justice, you must be very confident of justice.”

Dr Ling, a doctor by training, served as MCA president from 1986 to 2003.

On June 13, 2003, he was appointed the party’s Honorary Life President in recognition of his loyal and meritorious services to the party, community and nation.

In Ipoh, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek said party leaders were shocked over the matter.

Dr Chua, who was on a visit to SJK(C) Poi Lam here, told reporters however that he was confident Dr Ling would get a fair trial.

Public Accounts Committee chairman Datuk Seri Azmi Khalid said it had never identified Dr Ling as the “culprit” behind the PKFZ scandal.

Another former MCA president and Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat said he only wanted the interest of the general public, especially taxpayers, to be protected.

“I’m not interested in specific personalities,” he said.

He added that there was a necessity for the authorities to keep the public informed of its findings, adding: “And if there has been fraud, then the funds must be recovered.”

Dr Ling is the fifth and the highest-ranking person to be charged over the scandal after former Port Klang Authority general manager Datin Paduka O.C. Phang and three others were accused of criminal breach of trust (CBT) and cheating by making false claims late last year.

The PKFZ project was mooted during Dr Ling’s term as Transport Minister, and the cost of the project – initially estimated at less than RM2bil – more than doubled to RM4.6bil by 2007.

THE charge:

“That you, between Sept 25 and Nov 6, 2002, at Level 4 of the Prime Minister’s Office in Bangunan Perdana Putra, cheated the Government by deceiving the Cabinet into approving a land purchase in Pulau Indah for a Mega Distribution Hub project in Port Klang according to the terms agreed between Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd and Port Klang Authority which, among others, are:

a) the size of the land being 999.5 acres or 43,538,200 sq ft

b) the purchase price for the land being RM25 per sq ft amounting to a total of RM1,088,456,000

c) the repayment period being based on a “deferred payment” of 15 years with an interest rate of 7.5% per annum (total RM720,014,600), and thereby dishonestly hiding the fact that the valuation by the Valuation and Property Service Department on the land was RM25 per sq ft for a repayment period of 10 years or RM25.82 per sq ft for a repayment period of 15 years, including coupon/interest that could be charged for the repayment period.

And as such, you purposely induced the Cabinet to give its consent to the purchase, whereas the Cabinet would not have given its consent if the fact had been told to the Cabinet, and the fraud was committed with the knowledge that you could cause a loss to the Government, where you have an interest in the transaction pertaining to the fraud and you are bound under the law to protect it and, as such, you have committed an offence punishable under Section 418 of the Penal Code.”

(Section 418 concerns “cheating with knowledge that wrongful loss may be thereby caused to a person whose interest the offender is bound to protect”.)

He also faced a similar alternative charge (for an alleged offence committed at the same time and place) under Section 417 of the Penal Code that concerns “punishment for cheating”.

History of Tun Dr Ling Lion Sik (source - MCA website)

1943: Bborn in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, Malaysia.

1966: Graduated as a medical doctor from University of Singapore. Subsequently, he set up his practice in Penang where he joined MCA as a member.

1974: Elected as Member of Parliament for Mata Kuching constituency. He successfully defended his position in 1978 and 1982.

1986: He was elected MP for Labis. He also subsequently successfully defended his position in the 1990, 1995 and 1999 general elections.

1986: Appointed Transport Minister. Prior to that, he had held the position of Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Local Government and Federal, Territory, Deputy Information Minister, Deputy Finance Minister and Deputy Education Minister.

Tun Ling is an MCA leader noted for his political vision and conviction, a strong believer of moderation and pragmatism. His crisis management capability earned him the reputation of a problem solver of the MCA.

Under Tun Ling's leadership, the MCA successfully overcame several crises that truly tested his mettle. He took over the reins in 1986, right after the devastating 20-month leadership crisis sparked off by the existence of phantom membership.

The party was at its lowest ebb, morale was low and so were finances. The worst was yet to come.

The first test came when 24 deposit-taking co-operatives initiated by the Chinese were frozen by Bank Negara, putting billions of ringgit deposited by their members in jeopardy.

The MCA under Tun Ling's leadership fought relentlessly to help the 500,000 depositors in getting a ringgit-to-ringgit refund, bringing a sigh of relief to the Chinese community.

At the end of 1989, another crisis exploded when the bank took action against the MCA over a RM36-million loan. The problem, an aftermath of the 1984-85 leadership crisis, was aggravated by the 1985 recession.

To solve the problem once and for all, Tun Ling launched a nation-wide life membership recruitment campaign raising funds and through restructuring of Party assets enabling the Party to resolve its financial problems.

After solving all the crises in the 1980s, Tun Ling concentrated his effort to prepare the MCA for a take off into the 1990s and beyond and joined the government effort in nation building.

To assist Tun Ling's leadership, Insap was set up in 1989 and was given the task to draw up the blueprint for National Unity.

The four main thrusts of the master plan were :

(1) to defuse the differences among the various communities especially among the Bumiputras and non-Bumiputras by ensuring each community is free to practise its culture, tradition and faith to establish a truly Malaysian society;

(2) to establish a fair and democratic society which guarantees equal opportunities to all the communities in political, economical, cultural and educational advancement so that none will feel deprived;

(3) to create a caring society so that the hardcore poor will get help and assistance;

(4) to create a high-tech, progressive and prosperous society which is both vibrant and competitive.

In December 1988, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir set up the National Economic Consultative Council comprising 150 members from various communities. The Council formulated the National Development Policy in place of the New Economic Policy covering the period from 1991 to the year 2000. The NDP laid the ground work for the rapid economic development of Malaysia in the 1990s. The NDP was later replaced by the Third Outline Perspective Plan (2001 - 2010).

Another major contribution by Tun Ling was the launching of the MCA Langkawi Educational Project and the rapid expansion of Tunku Abdul Rahman College.

Under the Langkawi Project, the MCA mobilise all its resources in a new commitment to raise the standard of education among the Chinese especially those in the rural areas.

Under this massive programme, resources centres with tuition classes and computers were set up to help the needy students. University students were mobilised to help the rural students and parents were encouraged to take extra care in the children's studies.

The Tunku Abdul Rahman College was set up on February 24, 1969 in Kuala Lumpur to cater mainly for Chinese students who did not have the opportunity for tertiary education locally or overseas.

In 1991, the Government allocated RM20 million under the Six Malaysia Plan for the college. Under Tun Ling's leadership, a total of RM30 million was raised by the MCA in a series of fund-raising campaigns.

This was matched by the Government on a ringgit-to-ringgit basis, bringing the total to RM60 million. Under a massive development plan, the Tunku Abdul Rahman College spreads its campuses to Johor, Penang, Perak and Pahang.

Under Tun Ling's stewardship, the MCA also played a crucial role in the amendments to the Education Act 1961 which guarantees the continued development of Chinese primary schools.

Tun Ling's leadership also contributed significantly towards the liberalisation of tertiary education which saw the establishment of the New Era College and the Southern College. Both were initiated by the Chinese community.

The crowning success of Tun Ling's leadership is evident in the outstanding result of the 1995 general elections in which the party won 30 of the 35 allocated parliamentary seats and 70 of the 77 state seats. It is also reflected in the close rapport between MCA and UMNO leadership.

In November 1999, the General Elections' results demonstrated that the MCA under the national stewardship of Tun Ling once again won the support and trust of the Chinese electorate.

The people expressed confidence in the BN coalition by voting 28 Parliamentary and 68 State representatives out of the 35 Parliamentary and 77 State seats MCA contested respectively.

Security Guru demonstrates ATM machine hack and got easy money..!!

If you have the talent - you don't have to work like a dog.. Computer hackers nowadays can even force money out of ATM Machine, quite easily..

Easy money hah???

Barnaby Jack, director of security testing at Seattle-based IOActive, demonstrated how to hack an ATM machine.

He did that at the Black Hat conference in Las Vegas, forcing the machine to spew out its cash.

"I hope to change the way people look at devices that from the outside are seemingly impenetrable," said Jack, a New Zealand native who lives in the San Jose area.

One vulnerability he demonstrated even allows a hacker to connect to the cash point through a telephone modem and, without knowing a password, instantly force it to disgorge its entire supply of cash. Godness me!!!

Jack said he bought the pair of stand-alone ATMs — one manufactured by Tranax Technologies and the other by Triton — over the internet and then spent years poring over the code.

The vulnerabilities and programming errors he unearthed during that process, Jack said, let him gain complete access to those machines and learn techniques that can be used to open the built-in safes of many others made by the same companies.

Hmmm... easy money hah???

Man dies after getting debt collecters' 120 SMSes

He owed only RM7,000 from a local bank, yet that amount killed him.

The gangster style methods employed by the bank concerned to compel that poor guy to payback the debt in terms of credit card overdues, led to the death of the bank customer.

Normally, we only hear tragic cases involving the illegal money lender or Ah Longs in Malaysia, and not established banking institutions.

That tragic case happened in Kajang, Selangor, Malaysia recently.

The 45-YEAR-OLD man died of a heart attack after being bombarded with 120 Short Messaging Services, SMSes from a debt collection company over RM7,000 in credit card debts.

Nanyang Siang Pau, Sin Chew Daily and China Press reported that Chan Kok Wah from Kajang was deluged with the messages urging him to clear his debt from as early as 6.26am on May 7.

Within five minutes, he had received 32 messages. And by the end of the day, he was overwhelmed by a total of 120 SMSes, according to the reports.

Chan’s wife, Yeap Chun Hong, 45, said she was upset with the method used by the debt collection company in going after her husband on behalf of the bank.

“They totally did not allow room for discussion. My husband owed them only RM7,000 and they pushed him to his death,” she told the dailies.

Yeap, who had lodged a police report, said her husband had banked in RM500 and RM550, and told her he was going for his breakfast at about 11am that day.

“But he suddenly collapsed before he could even take the food and his friend brought him home.

“He then complained about chest pains and fainted again. When he woke up, his friend immediately sent him to the hospital but it was already too late,” she was quoted by the dailies.

Curt Degerman - the richest rubbish collector in the world??

Mr Curt Degerman - the Swedish wonder man!!!

This is truly a classic.

To the outside world, Curt Degerman was a poor can collector.

The aged Swede, spent about 30 years roaming the streets of Skelleftea in northern Sweden, cycling around in his blue jacket and ragged pants almost daily, collecting tin cans and bottle for cash.

Thus, earning the nickname Burk-Curt or “Tin Can Curt,” among the locals.

He was, in the eyes of most people, an ordinary street bum.

Instead, when Curt Degerman died at the age of 60, he left more than US$1.4 million or 12 million Swedish Kronor to his cousin.

How did he do it? Thrift and smart investing.

It turns out that in between collecting cans, Mr. Degerman spent a lot of time in the local library reading business newspapers such as Dagen Industry, a Swedish business daily, and studying the stock market.

“He knew stocks inside and out,” said his cousin.

He used his tin-can earnings to buy mutual funds. He also bought 124 gold bars and also grew his cash with a savings account.

Mr Degerman rode a bicycle and didn’t have a mortgage on his house, which also made savings easier.

Mr. Degerman died of a heart attack in 2008. His will left his entire estate to a cousin who visited him regularly late in his life.

Yet soon after the fortune was revealed, an uncle claimed the cash under Sweden’s inheritance law. Lawyers got involved, and the two recently settled for undisclosed shares.

All of which goes to show that no matter how careful someone is in making and saving money in their lifetime, they can’t control what happens afterward.

Do you think Mr. Degerman should have enjoyed his money more while he was alive? Or is he the perfect model of wealth creation?

Well, good old Mr Degerman carried his secret wealth into his grave, but i think he should enjoy his money - like pinching a girl's ass, drinking wine and mud wrestling!!

So folks, morales of the story here :

1. Make friends with rubbish or metal scavengers around your town - who knows they are secret millionaires???
2. invest in mutual fund
3. buy gold bars
4. be thrifty
5. don't mess around with pretty girls who are only after your money
6. visit your local library often, hey it's worth it as proven by Mr Degerman
7. learn business by reading business dailies
8. don't mess with Curt Degerman
9. read Kennysia.com or Xia Xue's blog or Kenwooi.com!!!
