She began playing professional tennis in 1972 and retired in 1989, winning an astonishing 18 Grand Slam singles championships, including a record 7 singles titles at the French Open and a record 6 singles titles at the U.S. Open. Evert's career win–loss record in singles matches of 1,309–146 is the best of any professional player in tennis history.

Evert's romance with then top men's player Jimmy Connors captured the public's imagination in the 1970s, particularly after they both captured the singles titles at Wimbledon in 1974. They got engaged, when she was only 19, but the romance did not last.

Currently, Evert operates a tennis academy bearing her name in her home town of Boca Raton, Florida, USA.




Ana Ivanovic is the undisupted Serbian beauty. She has supermodel looks. She is a one time Grand Slam singles winner, winning the 2008 French Open.
