David Beckham scores winner direct from a corner kick

Call this magic football.

David Beckham is one of the finest footballers in history and the most handsome and good-looking too.

This former England, Manchester United and Real Madrid playmaker has scored many magical goals.

That includes free kicks from 30, 40, 50, 60 and even 70 metres from the left, right or centre of the field.

His insiwnger or banana kick can also makes the ball swerves to every direction he wants it to be.

“I saw the goal keeper going out of the goal and saw a little bit of a gap. So I knew if I put in an area it was either going to get a touch off somebody or go straight in.” – David Beckham.

Beckham was inspirational in LA Galaxy’s 2-1 win over Chicago Fire in the American Super League on Sunday 10th July 2011.

Earlier, a trademark free-kick set up Landon Donovan for the opener and after Chicago equalised the former England captain stepped up to the plate again and scored the winner, direct from a corner kick - his second such goal in his illustrious professional career.

Taking a corner in the 62nd minute, Beckham whipped in a low effort, missed by everyone and secured the win for LA Galaxy.

LA coach Bruce Arena said after the game: “The second goal, did that touch anyone? I don’t know how it went in; but that’s why we pay him the big money for.”

This is truly a great visionary goal and will be long remembered.

Incidentally, this was Beckham’s second ever goal straight from a corner, known in certain parts as an “Olimpico” – he notched one whilst on loan at Preston North End in 1995.

Long Live Beckham... God Bless the Queen...

David Beckham plays good Samaritan

You can say bend it like Beckham. But on some other days you can say Save it like Beckham.

Beckham the world's most famous footballer and highest paid sports star, played the role of a good samaritan during a soccer match.

He recently skipped an L.A. Galaxy league match to play in best friend Gary Neville's testimonial against Juventus at Old Trafford on Tuesday 24 May 2011.

This is the first time in 8 years that Beckham was back at his former home and wearing a Manchester United shirt since 2003 when he left for Real Madrid.

The incident happened as Beckham was preparing to take a corner kick.

Just so, a couple of kids attempted their pitch invasion.

One was caught right away while the other fulfilled his desire to waste everyone's time by scampering around the pitch and evading a trio of stewards.

Beckham, meanwhile, just stood with his hands on his hips, waiting for his superior gravitational pull to attract the kid to him and when it did, he wrapped him up with a bear hug.

From there, the herd of stewards took over and moved to expel the two kids from the stadium as Beckham made a point to argue that they should be let go and showed his displeasure when they weren't.

He then struck his corner kick and carried on being the one and only David Beckham.

Sofia Vergara and David Beckham star in new Pepsi commercial

David Beckham and the super sexy Colombian model and actress, Sofia Vergara have teamed up for a sun-soaked Diet Pepsi commercial.

The advertisement sees a swimsuit-clad Vergara lying on the beach craving a can of soda.

In a bid to clear the beach bar queue, the actress posts a message on her Twitter page saying she has spotted David Beckham at the pier.

After the crowds of people flee to find him, Vergara struts up to the counter and orders a Diet Pepsi.

But she is left open-mouthed as Becks turns up by her sun-lounger to retrieve his football.

'What's going on over there?' the former England captain asks.

The new Diet Pepsi commercial aired in the United States last night (Tuesday, 25th April 2011) during an episode of NBC television show Chuck.

The ad, which was shot on Venice Beach in California last month, is not the first time Vergara and Beckham have worked for the soft drink giant.

Vergara has appeared in previous Pepsi adverts and has said it is 'fantastic' to be back.

Beckham has been endorsed by the company throughout his football career. He said, 'I've been part of the Pepsi family for a number of years, and I'm back. I'm excited.'
