Cheras-Kajang Tolls abolishment, another lovely gift from Najib Razak to Malaysians

Our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is a man full of pleasant surprises.

Since taking over as the 6th Malaysian Prime Minister on 3rd April 2009, Najib mesmerizes 28 million Malaysians with pleasant announcements, aimed at easing the burdens of the poor, improving the lives of the riches and middle income groups, as well as making Malaysia, a developed country by 2020.

And today, Thursday 1st March 2012, Najib sprang another good news to Malaysian road users.

Effective midnight tonight, the RM1 toll at the Batu 9 Cheras - Kajang Highway heading to Kuala Lumpur and the 90 sen toll at Batu 11 heading to Kajang will be abolished from midnight, Najib announced.

He said that the abolishing of the toll would halve the toll cost for the 120,000 commuters using the Grand Saga Cheras-Kajang Highway daily.

Congratulations to Yingluck Shinawatra, Thailand new Prime Minister

Thailand has a new Prime Minister, a beautiful and photogenic Prime Minister.

Good Bye Abishit Vejjajiva and Welcome and Good Luck to Yingluck Shinawatra, Thailand's first ever female Prime Minister.

Yingluck Shinawatra, who is set to become Thailand's first female prime minister, said Sunday 3rd July 2011 that she was working on building a coalition after the government conceded defeat in landmark elections.

Yingluck, seen as the proxy of her brother Thaksin Shinawatra who was ousted as premier in a 2006 coup, said it was too early to claim victory for her Puea Thai party but thanked voters as results indicated it had won a majority.

"I don't want to say it's victory for me and the Puea Thai party but people are giving me a chance and I will work to my best ability for the people," she told reporters at her party headquarters in Bangkok.

"While we are waiting for the official results the Puea Thai executive has already contacted and discussed with Chart Thai Pattana to work together," she said, referring to negotiations for a coalition with a smaller party.

"And in the future there are more parties expected to come and work with Puea Thai."

"I would like to reiterate that we are ready to deliver on all of the policies that we have announced," the 44-year-old beautiful politician said. "There is more hard work ahead."

Her comments came after Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva admitted defeat in the hotly contested polls and congratulated the opposition on their victory.

With 92 percent of votes counted, Puea Thai had won 260 seats out of 500, well ahead of the Democrats with 163, according to the Election Commission.

The outcome marks a remarkable comeback for the opposition allied to Thaksin after years of turmoil since he was ousted by the military.

Malaysian Prime Minsiter said Polls date still in the air

Malaysians generally are wondering when is the 13th General Election is going to be held.

The last general election was held on March 2008 where the ruling Barisan Nasional, BN coalition parties won and still took control of the federal government but fared badly, losing the two third majority in Parliament.

The BN also lost 4 states, Penang, Perak, Kedah and Selangor to the oppositions.

The only person who knows the right date for the General Election is none other that the Prime Minister of Malaysia himself, Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak.

While on a 2 day working visit to Sabah, East Malaysia on 29 and 30th June 2011 Najib Tun Razak said he is keeping an open mind on when he would call for a general election.

For the record, Najib earlier on the year generates a much debated interests among Malaysians when he said he fancys the number 11, while being interviewed live on Hot FM Radio Station in Sri Pentas, Bandar Utama.

Therefore triggering an intense speculations wether the Parliament is going to be dissolved on 11th November 2011 or any dates in November 2011.



Yesterday 30th June 2011 while visiting Sipitang, a coastal town in the in the interior of Sabah, the Prime Minister keep the media guessing when asked wether he had decided on the election date.

Najib said what mattered most was to ensure that Barisan Nasional was fully prepared to win the hearts and minds of the people.

“Before we can determine the date, we have to work hard and strengthen Barisan and solve problems faced by the grassroots,” he said after launching the Pesta Gasing dan Tamu (Gata) 2011 in Sipitang.

Najib also reminded the Sabah Barisan Nasional to put the people first in whatever they do.

The Prime Minister arrived in Sabah on Wednesday afternoon, 29 June 2011 and met with leaders of eight Barisan component parties in a closed-door meeting at the 5 star Maggelan Sutera Resort in Kota Kinabalu, capital of Sabah.

He told them that “this could be his last visit” prior to a general election.

However, when asked to elaborate yesterday, Thursday 30th June 2011 Najib laughed it off, saying he wanted the state leaders to be prepared for the polls at any time.

In Kota Kinabalu on the same day on 30th June 2011, Najib went on a memorable trip when he dropped by a house at Kampung Likas just outside the city.

His visit came 46 years after his father Tun Abdul Razak Hussein toured the area and met the then village chief OT (Orang Tua) Bakar Busu.

Najib met Bakar's only offspring Tijah, her husband Yahya NC Asai, 71, and their eight children and 15 grandchildren.

Yahya got engaged to Tijah when Tun Razak visited the village in 1965.

“It was just after the formation of Malaysia, and Tun Razak wanted to see for himself ordinary Malaysians in Sabah,” said Yahya, a retired Sabah Railway technician.



Earlier in the day, Najib took a stroll around Murut traditional houses at the interior township of Kemabong, some 250km from the city after launching the Juara Rakyat programme there.

He also savoured the renowned Tenom coffee and had lunch with local community leaders before flying to Sipitang to launch the RM2.7mil Esplanade there.

Najib also went for a walkabout at Inanam town market, about 10km from here.

He later announced a RM2mil allocation to build a new community hall in Inanam, adding that he was also studying a proposal to improve the roads in the town.

Well when is the election Sir?? It is up to you Najib.

Gordon Brown leaves No. 10 Downing Street

After his 13 years as British Prime Minister ended on Tuesday 11 May 2010 after conceding election defeat, Mr Gordon Brown's voice cracked with emotion as he ended a brief statement with a simple: "Thank you and goodbye."





Then in a poignant moment, he and Sarah walked to the famous door of No10, Downing Street, the office of the British Prime Minister, to collect John, six, and Fraser, three - one of the rare occasions Mr Brown has exposed his children to the glare of publicity.

He kissed the boys on the head before being driven to Buckingham Palace to tender his resignation to the Queen - ending 13 years of Labour rule.

It was the final act of an often troubled and tempestuous premiership.


Aides, including his gatekeeper Sue Nye and chief adviser Justin Forsyth, had gathered in Downing Street to watch his departure.

Mr Brown revealed: "It is my intention to tender my resignation to the Queen. I shall advise her to invite the Leader of the Opposition to seek to form a government."

He offered a good luck message to Tory leader David Cameron, watching on TV in his Commons office.

He went on: "I have been privileged to learn much about the very best in human nature and a fair amount too about its frailties - including my own."

Despite looking exhausted, Mr Brown said he had "loved the job". The man who often came under attack over lack of equipment for British troops then praised their courage.

His voice wavering with emotion, he turned to his wife, standing a few feet behind him, and said: "I want to thank Sarah for her unwavering support as well as her love. I thank my sons John and Fraser for the love and joy they bring to our lives. As I leave the second most-important job I could ever hold, I cherish even more the first - as a husband and father."

Minutes later, the door to Number 11 opened and Chancellor Alistair Darling and his wife Maggie also left Downing Street. It emerged that Mr Brown's predecessor Tony Blair phoned just before he took the decision to throw in the towel.

But a spokesman would not comment on rumours that Mr Blair urged him to stand down.
