I got this little piece of information via email and i thought it is worth sharing.

Remember and beware : Lack of sleep, KILLS YOU!!!

Some Excerpts:

· Short sleep duration ( <5 or 5-6 hours ) increased risk for high Blood Pressure, BP by 350% to 500% compared to those who slept longer than 6 hours per night. Paper published in 2009. As you know, high BLOOD PRESSURE, BP kills.

· Young people ( 25-49 years of age ) are twice as likely to get high BP if they sleep less. Paper published in 2006.

· Individuals who slept less than 5 hours a night had a 3-fold increased risk of heart attacks. Paper published in 1999.

· Complete and partial lack of sleep increased the blood concentrations of High sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hs-cRP), the strongest predictor of heart attacks. Even after getting adequate sleep later, the levels stayed high!!

· Just one night of sleep loss increases very toxic substances in body such as Interleukin-6 (IL! -6), Tumour Necrosis Factor-Alpha (TNF-alpha) and C-reactive protein (cRP). They increase risks of many medical conditions, including cancer, arthritis and heart disease. Paper published in 2004.

· Sleeping for <=5 hours per night leads to 39% increase in heart disease. Sleeping for <=6 hours per night leads to 18% increase in heart disease. Paper published in 2006.

Ideal Sleep

For lack of space, I cannot explain here the ideal sleep architecture. But in brief, sleep is composed of two stages: REM ( Rapid Eye Movement ) and non-REM. The former helps in mental consolidation while the latter helps in physical repair and rebuilding. During the night, you alternate between REM and non-REM stages 4-5 times.

The earlier part of sleep is mostly non-REM. During that period, your pituitary gland releases growth hormones that repair your body. The latter part of sleep is more and more REM type.

For you to be mentally alert during the day, ! the latter part of sleep is more important. No wonder when you wake up with an alarm clock after 5-6 hours of sleep, you are mentally irritable throughout the day (lack of REM sleep). And if you have slept for less than 5 hours, your body is in a complete physical mess ( lack of non-REM sleep ), you are tired throughout the day, moving like a zombie and your immunity is way down ( I’ve been there, done that ).

Finally, as long-distance runners, you need an hour of extra sleep to repair the running related damage.

Sabah Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Musa Aman welcomes the setting up of Royal Commission of Inquiry to investigate illegal immigrants in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU 2nd June 2012

Sabah Chief Minister and Sabah Barisan Nasional, BN Chief Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman welcomes the announcement by the Prime Minister yesterday to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry, R-C-I to investigate problems related to the huge influx of illegal immigrants in Sabah.

"This announcement proves that the BN government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is a government that listens to the people," he said in a statement today, 2nd June 2012.

Musa also said the opposition should not try to play up this issue and claim political mileage on the issue of RCI.

"This is the request made by BN component parties including Umno and not just by the opposition," he said.

He also said that the State Government will extend its terms of reference to assist in the setting up of the RCI.

It was reported that the number of illegal immigrants in Sabah is estimated to be around 500,000 people, mainly from the Philippines and Indonesia.

Melinda Louis dari Telupid, Unduk Ngadau 2012

Melinda Louis pasti tidak dapat melupakan detik indah ini yang terpahat pada hari Khamis, 31 Mei 2012 di KDCA, Penampang sempena Pesta Kaamatan peringkat negeri Sabah. Ini kali pertama wakil Telupid juara Unduk Ngadau.





Inilah Melinda Louis, 22 tahun dari Kg Gading, Telupid yang menewaskan 41 peserta lain untuk muncul Unduk Ngadau 2012 sempena Pesta Kaamatan peringkat negeri Sabah di KDCA, Penampang pada 31 Mei 2012. Ini sejarah tersendiri kerana Telupid buat pertama kalinya menang Unduk Ngadau, mengenepikan dominasi Penampang yang mendominasi pertandingan ini sejak 1960an sehingga sekarang.








Melinda Louis berkata dia tidak menyangka memenangi Unduk Ngadau 2012 kerana peserta lain juga jelita dan amat berpengalaman dan mempunyai keistimewaan tersendiri. Melinda menghadiahkan kemenangan ini kepada daerah Telupid yang menang Unduk Ngadau peringkat negeri buat pertama kalinya.

Sebenarnya menurut Melinda, dia dipilih mewakili Telupid pada Unduk Ngadau 2008 ketika berusia 18 tahun namun tidak dapat berbuat demikian kerana melanjutkan pengajian. Nampaknya penantian 4 tahun selepas itu tidak sia sia bagi Melinda Louis, keluarganya dan seluruh daerah Telupid.

"I didn’t expect to win this title as all the finalists are very experienced and beautiful in their own ways. However, this winning is a special gift to my district, first time winning the state-level Unduk Ngadau,” said Melinda.

“I was chosen to represent Telupid in the state level in 2008 but I did not manage to stand for my district because I had to continue my study,” said the second child of six siblings who took home RM68,800 worth of prizes.

Airbus A380 arrives for Malaysian Airlines – 10 years after it was ordered

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has taken delivery of its first A380, becoming the eighth operator of the world’s largest and most eco-efficient airliner. The aircraft was handed over to MAS Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya by Airbus Chief Operating Officer Fabrice Brégier in Toulouse, France on Tuesday 29th May 2012.


The MAS Airbus A380, landed safely at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on 30th May 2012.



Almost a decade after it was first ordered, the world’s largest and fuel-efficient A380 aircraft finally landed on Malaysian soil at 3.35pm, Wednesday, 30th May 2012.

It was a major advancement in air travel for Malaysia Airlines (MAS) as it joined the elite A380 club.

The 73m-long technological wonder can carry up to 494 passengers and offers one of the best seating arrangements in the industry for its first-class cabin, where the seats are as big as a single bed, measuring 40 inches by 87 inches.

It will take to the skies for commercial flights on July 1, 2012 on the much lucrative KL-London-KL route as a thrice-weekly KL-London service, before going daily in August 2012.

MAS will also introduce the A380 to its Sydney-Kuala Lumpur route beginning Sept 25, 2012 running as the daily MH122/123 service, replacing the current Boeing 747-400.

A second A380 will be added by August 2012 and two others Airbus A380 will be added into the MAS fleet by early next year.

In 2003, MAS ordered six A380 and the first delivery was supposed to be in 2007 but it had to endure a five-year delay by the aircraft manufacturer.

On board the A380 were MAS top brass, comprising group CEO Ah­­mad Jauhari Yahya and a technical team.

After the handing over ceremony in Toulouse on Tuesday, 29th May 2012, the flight took off at about 8pm (French time) to KLIA.

Soon after its arrival, the aircraft was moved to Hangar 6 for some final touches.

The aircraft is slated to return to Toulouse on June 6, 2012, for some additional touches.

MAS chairman Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof said: “It is a nice (enough) reason for us to motivate and start anew. The aircraft is actually very elegant despite its size.’’

Ahmad Jauhari added: “It is a new beginning as far as uplifting of ser­vices and product level is concerned.

“We are excited as it provides an opportunity for us to demonstrate to the market and our customers that we can be best in the region (again) in terms of product and services.”

Ahmad Jauhari said having the fleet of A380s would give MAS an opportunity to reclaim its glory.

"Our fleet of A380s will be the newest in the region. We will also introduce products and services which we believe will stand out from our competitors.

"We really want to be the best in the region again and we are doing all that we can, both in short- and long-term initiatives to achieve this objective."

MAS is the eighth carrier to take delivery of the A380 aircraft. Well done MAS.

Meanwhile Bloomberg reported earlier this week that seats on MAS first-class are five inches wider than the competition.

MAS passengers on such seats will have more space than on a single-bed mattress.

MAS area manager for United Kingdom & Ireland, Yuzrizal Yousuf described the report as one of the many initiatives in place to reinforce the airline's position as a leader in the premium market.

"With the new A380, we can expect an extra 3,000 seats to be sold in the coming July/August 2012 period. The demand for seats on the A380 has been high.

"With a month to go, our figures show that 80 per cent of the available seats have already been snapped up."

17 hurt at Million Youths Gathering drag race mishap in Putrajaya, Malaysia

The incident was caught on camera. 17 people were injured after a wayward drag race car, crashed onto a pile of spectators.

Saturday, 26th May 2012 is supposed to be fun day for Malaysians in Putrajaya, but for some, it was nightmare.

17 spectators at a drag race held in conjunction with the Million Youths Rally in Putrajaya, Malaysia, were injured on midnight Saturday, 26th May 2012 when one of the competing cars skidded during a trial run.

In the incident at the Wadi Ehsan Highway at Precinct 19 here, the car struck the victims who were watching from outside the permitted perimeters.

Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said four of the victims, who sustained serious injuries, were warded at Putrajaya Hospital, while the driver of the car escaped unhurt.

He said the race was discontinued and that he would request the organisers to conduct an investigation including lodging a police report.

"I don't want a repeat of the tragedy. We regret what happened. We will see what assistance we can provide to the victims and their families," he told reporters after visiting the scene of the incident.

Ahmad Shabery said the race was arranged by experienced organisers but he had been made to understand that there was no sanctioning body to monitor and supervise competitions of such nature.

He added that he would ask the Cabinet to expedite approval for the building of a "drag" race circuit to avoid any untoward incidents on normal roads.

He said the allocation for the proposed circuit included the construction of a straight race track, measuring at least 800m in length, with special seats for spectators.

Drag racing is a competition in which specially prepared automobiles or motorcycles compete, usually two at a time, to be the first to cross a set finish line.

When asked to comment on claims that the organisers had been negligent about safety, he said it was premature to say this and that he was awaiting a full report on the case.

He said he had also been informed by the organisers that they had cautioned spectators not to go beyond the permitted area, but when the session started, the warning went unheeded as the arena became crowded with about 10,000 spectators.

Estino menamatkan renangan tanpa henti dari Dover, England ke Calais, Perancis dalam masa 13 jam 45 minit dan 45 saat pada 22 September 2012. Perhatikan masa dicatatnya hampir 4 jam lebih pantas dari renangan bersejarah Malik Mydin, 9 tahun sebelum itu.




Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah ketika menjadi Raja Muda Selangor, pernah mengelilingi dunia secara solo pada 1995 dengan kapal layar, SY Jugra selama 22 bulan.

Pada 1997, Baginda juga pernah menyertai Motor Challenge dari Peking, China ke Paris, Perancis dalam kategori kereta antik, menggunakan kereta Ford Model B 1932 dimana Baginda berjaya mengharungi perjalanan 16,000 km dalam masa 43 hari.

Kita geram juga dengan pihak yang membuang jurulatih berjaya.

Suruhlah orang itu bermain bola sendiri atau latih pemain. Lihat boleh atau tidak?

Contoh jurulatih yang menjadi mangsa keadaan ialah M. Karathu yang dilepaskan sebagai jurulatih Kelantan pada hujung 2011 meskipun baru membimbing Kelantan, The Red Warriors selaku juara Liga Super 2011, buat pertama kalinya.

Begitu juga Carlo Ancelotti yang dibuang selaku pengurus Chelsea pada May 2011 oleh pemilik Chelsea, si jutawan bodoh dari Russia yang tidak tahu menendang bola, Roman Abramovich, meskipun Ancelotti membawa Chelsea juara Liga Perdana Inggeris dan Juara Piala FA pada 2009 – kejuaraan berganda.

Dadah adalah masalah sejagat dan sukar ditumpaskan Polis dan pihak berkuasa lain.

Penyelesaian yang kerap kita dengar, tangkap keldai dadah atau pengedar atau penagih dadah.

Bagi saya, untuk selesaikan masalah ini, kena pergi ke ROOT OF THE PROBLEM atau punca masalah itu.

Iaitu cari dan kesan Makmal membuat dadah atau ladang penanaman dadah seperti Ganja, dan musnahkan dengan apa cara sekalipun.

Hanya itu caranya isu Dadah dapat diatasi dengan berkesan di dunia.

Menghukum pengedar dadah dan raja dadah bukan penyelesaian total kerana ada saja kuncu kuncunya yang baru akan muncul.

Namun jika sumber dadah seperti makmal dan ladang ganja sudah musnah, maka tiada DADAH yang diedar lagi.
