A Malaysian TV host, known as Jimmy Shanley (whom i refer to as Jimmy Silly Shanley!!!), admitted in a syariah lower court in Shah Alam, Selangor that he slapped his wife twice during their brief marriage in October 2010.
In a case widely covered by the Malay media, including a frontpage report in Kosmo!, he told the court he could not stand the social habits of his wife Nursuhaila Eliani Suhaimy and that, as a husband, he had to teach her to obey him. What??
The first time he slapped her was at his mother-in-law's house in Sungai Buloh on the third day of their marriage and the second time during their honeymoon in Koh Samui in Thailand on Oct 19, 2010. What?
What will happen if the marriage lasted 20 years? Will Jimmy Silly Shanley slap his wife for 100,000 times???
Nursuhaila's mother is cosmetics millionaire Datin Muniroh Kassim, the founder of beautycare brand Natasya.
The 32-year-old TV presenter, whose real name is Jimmy Norjahan Salleh, married Nursuhaila, 26, on Oct 1, 2010. They stayed together for only 19 days before going their separate ways. The couple has a daughter, Zahra Rania.
Jimmy filed a perintah kembali taat (faithful requisition) on January 3, 2012 followed by a nusyuz (disobedience) declaration against his wife on January 27, 2012.
Jimmy the Silly, known for his silly and unpopular Trek Selebriti programme on Astro TV and as the presenter of the eighth season of the now unpopular Akademi Fantasia talent search show, said he and Nursuhaila married after a six-month courtship.
He added, however, that there were a lot of disagreements between them because she preferred entertaining her friends on Facebook, BlackBerry and iPad. What???
“I constantly advise her to leave all her bad habits and remember her duties to me, her husband,” he stated when questioned by counsel Mohd Noor Aizan Md Idrus.
To girls out there, remember if you dated Jimmy the Silly, you will certainly be slapped!!
