Prince William and Kate Middleton, toured Danum Valley, Sabah, East Malaysia, September 15th, 2012 despite furore over topless pictures of the Duchess

The British royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton in Danum Valley, Lahad Datu, Sabah, Saturday, 15th September 2012

This is the famed view of Danum Valley pristine rainforest, older than Amazon rainforest in Latin America, majestically covered by mist, can be seen early morning from an observation post.

The visit as shown on Malaysian TV

The royal couple were greeted warmly by the indigenous people of Sabah upon arrival at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport, Sabah, East Malaysia on the evening of Friday, 14th September 2012.

Flashback, while in Kuala Lumpur, Kate Middleton chit chatted with 2 Malaysian Olympic medalists, Lee Chong Wei - double Olympics silver medalist, 2008 and 2012 and partially seen here is Pandelela Rinong, Bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics, 10 metres paltform.

This is the scary part of Danum Valley, crossing the 300 metres canopy walkway, at 26 metres high from ground level!!

Prince William and his wife toured a forest in eastern Malaysia Saturday amid a tempest and furore over the publication of topless photographs of Kate by a French magazine, Closer.

Shortly after arrival in Danum Valley, about 1,850 kilometres east of Kuala Lumpur, the royal couple was briefed by scientists about efforts to conserve and protect one of the world's few remaining virgin forests.

Throughout the visit, Prince Charming, William and his wife Catherine put on a brave face and smiling all the way.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the pristine Danum Valley rainforest in Malaysia's Sabah state, as part of the Queen's diamond jubilee celebrations.

Ignoring the furore caused by the publication of the pictures by the French magazine Closer, the couple spent 20 minutes trekking through the rainforest wearing long-sleeved safari-style shirts, khaki pants and thick boots to keep out the leeches.

Despite the controversial photos, the humidity and fact she was dressed down, Kate looked unruffled and grinned throughout, clearly enjoying their stroll through the jungle.

Announcing a world exclusive, French Closer magazine invited readers, via its website, to pick up the new edition and enjoy "the photos that the world can't wait to see the Duchess of Cambridge topless on a guesthouse terrace". The pictures were apparently taken while the British royals were on holiday in France last week.

Splashed on the front cover and inside on five pages, many of the grainy photos feature what appears to be Catherine wearing just the bottoms of a black and white bikini and looking so fit that the magazine said "Victoria's Secret angels can stand aside."

In a swift move, St. James Palace fired off a statement condemning the photos:

"Their Royal Highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner. The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to the duke and duchess for being so. Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them."

Officials aside, the topless paparazzi photos have already provoked outrage from British media, and UK papers will likely refuse to print the pics in the same way that many outlets -- save for the Sun, which eventually relented -- declined to post the Prince Harry nude photos.

Now back to the royal pair visit to Danum Valley. The Duke and Duchess were then winched up a 117-foot (35-metre) tree to a canopy walkway, where they crossed a wobbly Indiana Jones-style bridge to witness up close the jungle paradise in which a new species of frog was discovered two years ago.

They were then fitted with special harnesses and helmets in a private room before being hoisted 138ft up into a giant parashorea tomentella tree using a “counterweight pulley system” which had been set by rope access technicians to their combined weight, believed to be 150kg.

Despite venting their anger in a statement on Friday which spoke of the magazine’s “grotesque and totally unjustifiable actions”, the Duke showed he was determined to maintain a sense of humour.

As they waited in their harnesses at the base of the tree, the Duke looked at his wife and quipped: “Girls don’t have the same wardrobe malfunctions as men do. I hope I don’t have any wardrobe malfunctions.”

The Duchess, appearing somewhat apprehensive as she looked upwards at her route of ascent into the jungle canopy, said: “I’m going to go “whee” and just fly up.”

The Duke then asked the rope technicians at the base of the tree: “Is it ok to squeak as we go up?”

Simon Amos, the rope access technician who oversaw their ascent up the tree, said: “It’s the closest anyone will ever get to time travel. What they are seeing is exactly what it would have looked like 150 million years ago as there has never been an ice age here. It is as if time stood still.”

Suspended in the air, with sweeping views over the top of the jungle canopy, they were greeted up the tree by Kalsum Yusah, 32, from Sabah, who completed a PhD in entomology at Cambridge University two years ago and is now based at the field centre.

Miss Yusah said: “They just said it was such a surreal, totally unique experience up there because they had never been up in the canopy.

“They enjoyed it immensely and they weren’t scared of the heights. They asked about the primates, birds and insects and they were interested in how the forest is sustained.

“They enjoyed it because it gets them into the midst of the canopy, where there’s nothing much else going on.”

After spending around 10 minutes up in the air, they were lowered back down to the ground, with wide smiles, clearly amazed by what they had seen.

“That was rather surreal, wasn’t it?” said the Duchess. “It was amazing, such a treat, really brilliant to be up there. I could have stayed up there for hours, even though there were a lot of ants.”

The Duke wryly joked that even high up in the jungle canopy, he could not escape a photographer who had been positioned high up in an adjacent tree. “We saw a spy in a tree,” he said, before thanking the rope technicians: “Thank you for keeping us safe, that was super.”

The relatively untouched valley is home to endangered orangutans, clouded leopards, elephants, sun bears and sambar deer. The royal couple, however, were not lucky enough to spot any of the rainforest's larger inhabitants.

They had earlier flown by helicopter to the jungle - recommended to them by Prince Charles - from Sabah's capital Kota Kinabalu.

William is a Fellow of the British Royal Society, which runs a research station dedicated to studying the rainforest in the Danum Valley.

During the trip they visited the station, where they were briefed on ongoing conservation activities in the area.

"Their trip to Sabah is focused on rainforest conservation. Going to Danum will provide them with a unique insight into it and also the work of the Royal Society," a British High Commission official told the media.

The Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak occupy the northern portion of the island of Borneo, which is shared with Indonesia and Brunei.

Borneo's unique biodiversity is threatened by logging, palm oil cultivation and other development that leads to deforestation. The Sabah rhino is just one species close to extinction, say forestry officials.

The young royals are touring the globe throughout 2012 as part of celebrations marking the 60-year reign of William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

William and Kate will this weekend move on to the Solomon Islands and later visit the island nation of Tuvalu.

There were no scheduled public functions until they leave for the Solomon Islands early Sunday, 16th September 2012, which coincides with Malaysia Day.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge learned about the topless photos on Friday, 14th September, 2012 while in Kuala Lumpur.

The royal couple immediately launched legal action for breach of privacy against the publishers of Closer magazine in France.

The editor of the French gossip magazine dismissed the suit and said the photographs of Kate sunning herself on a balcony wearing only bikini pants with her husband were "in no way degrading."

The magazine said the images were taken on September 5th, at the castle of Viscount Linley, a nephew of Queen Elizabeth.

The publication came one month after a British tabloid ran photographs of Prince Harry naked in a Las Vegas hotel.

God save the Queen.

The Sabah state government will not tolerate insults to cultural heritage especially insults to the famed Sumazau dance

Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan, Sabah's Paramount Leader of the Kadazan-Dusun or Huguan Siou

Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman, Sabah Chief Minister

The Sumazau dance

Press statement by the right honourable Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman

I am compelled to publicly criticise the ignorant and irresponsible parties behind the blog post that has insulted the Sumazau dance that is very much a part of Sabah’s rich cultural heritage.

We in Sabah are proud of our cultural diversity. We are home to 32 different ethnic groups, each with its own unique identity. Though different from each other and with different backgrounds and religious beliefs, there has always been above it all, respect.

Every culture has its own identity, steeped in tradition and history. The Sumazau is no different and its dance has its own distinctive meaning. At the same time, it is for all occasions and for everybody.

Modern day Sabah is known around the world as a vibrant melting pot of cultures. Our people are peace loving and harmonious. Many families, my own included, have members that are of different race and religion. We are like one big family here in Sabah.

As Chief Minister tasked with the responsibility of leading the state, my administration works hard to ensure this precious peace and racial harmony is protected and safeguarded. Such preservation is vital to developing the state of Sabah and steering our homeland into brighter futures for our children.

I join the outrage voiced by the people of Sabah against any slurs to our culture by irresponsible parties with selfish or malicious agendas. We will not tolerate such disrespect for our cultural values. Those who have no respect for our cultural values are not welcome here.

Meanwhile Sabah's Huguan Siou, Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan also issued statement condeming the insults to Sumazau dance.

Malaysian Film’s steamy scenes likely to court controversy

The sexy and glamorous Malaysian actress, Nora Danish.

Steamy movies are rare in Malaysia.

Therefore, STEAMY bedroom scenes between Malaysian beautiful starlet Nora Danish and local actor Rusdi Ramli in the soon-to-be-released movie Mencari Cinta is expected to court much controversy.

Some Malaysian newspapers reported that some scenes from the movie by first-time director Shirin Khuzaimi might cause people to label it as pornographic.

The film is due for release in December 2012.

Shirin, however, denied that Mencari Cinta was an X-rated film.

“It is a love story depicting how a married couple should behave in the bedroom based on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

“What I have depicted in the film is a love between a husband and his wife,” she said.

She said people tended to presume that the issue was too sexually explicit, but believed that it had to be followed through as was in the teachings.

“I did not deliberately raise controversy merely to attract people to watch the film,” she added.

I love Nora Danish, she is sexy and beautiful.

“Setelah dirawat, doktor memberitahu bahawa selepas tiga hari isteri saya akan sedar, namun sehingga hari kelima, dia masih belum sedar,” katanya.

“Biarlah mereka buat kerja mereka.

Rest in Peace Bad News Brown.

Sabahans and Sarawakians below 35 barred from working in Singapore

A view of the iconic lion City of Singapore

Malaysians above the age of 18 are allowed to work in Singapore except for male natives from Sabah and Sarawak whose age limit has been raised to 35.

The new ruling was imposed as an “administrative punishment” after a series of crimes and fights involving rowdy native Sabahans and Sarawakians in the republic.

It is learnt that several high profile murders involving Sarawakians and Sabahans in Ang Mo Kio Avenue, Kallang, and also Geylang in recent years have contributed towards the stricter regulations.

The new ruling has caused much difficulties to law-abiding Sabahan and Sarawakian native men, mainly unskilled and odd-job workers to work on the island.

Fresh workers below 35 were barred entry while those within that age group and already working there could not renew their work permits after they expire within two years.

Gagasan Dayak Iban Bersatu Malaysia (GAIU) president Sai Malaka said although the ruling was not made official by the Singapore Manpower Ministry (MOM), all work permit applications by native men from Sabah and Sarawak below the age of 35 were automatically rejected.

“I feel that this measure is very extreme and discriminatory towards native Sabahans and Sarawakians,” he said.

Sai added that Sarawakian and Sabahan men were skilled workers especially in the oil and gas sector, fabrication and factory maintenance.

He said since the ruling took effect, many Sarawakians and Sabahans who were unable to work in Singapore had opted to work in factories in Johor, particularly around Pasir Gudang.

“Luckily the government is developing the oil and gas hub in Pengerang near here. The project is now providing much needed work for these unemployed workers,” he told The Star yesterday.

State Unity, Human Resource, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee chairman M. Asojan said that he was also aware of the issue and urged Sabahans and Sarawakians who were unable to get into Singapore to take up the 42,000 jobs available in the various industries in Johor.

Meanwhile, a spokesman from MOM confirmed that Singapore had tightened the policies governing the hiring and retention of foreign manpower in the last few years to moderate the growth of foreign work force as well as to promote productivity-driven economic growth.

He said that foreign manpower from all sources were required to meet various criteria to be eligible for work passes.

“We will continue to approve or renew the work passes of workers from Sabah and Sarawak who are found to be eligible and suitable to work in Singapore,” said the spokesman.

Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore Datuk Md Hussin Nayan said that during the elections in Singapore, one of the issues raised was over the high number of foreign workers there and the government had taken steps to address the matter by minimising the intake of unskilled worker.

Over 100 foreign journalists to cover prince William and Kate Middleton visit to Malaysia

Wherever they go, the press and international media follow and so, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s inaugural visit in Malaysia will be no different.

Over 100 journalists and photographers from Britain, international wires and the foreign media will make their way here to report on the royal couple’s stay from Thursday to Sunday, 13 September to 16 September 2012.

For Britain itself, representatives from about 60 media organisations including television stations and newspapers will be here to cover the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s trip.

“The British media include the BBC, ITN (Independent Television News) and newspapers such as the Daily Mail and The Sunday Telegraph,” said a source from the British High Commission.

The source said magazines such as weekly celebrity magazine Hello! will also cover the visit here.

Apart from the British media, the source said the media from countries such as China, Indonesia and Australia will be flying representatives to Malaysia.

International wire agencies such as Reuters, AP and Xinhua have also accredited with the high commission to gain access to events graced by the royal couple.

Prince William and Kate will be in Malaysia as part of a worldwide tour to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s 60-year reign.

Kate is expected to make her first speech in a foreign land here in Kuala Lumpur, where she will address staff members and patients at a Malaysian hospice.

The royal pair will visit Kuala Lumpur first before flying off to Sabah.

After that, they will head off to the Solomon Islands on September 16 for a three-day trip and make their final stop in Tuvalu from September 18 to 19.

All the best William and Kate.

Hamida Djandoubi, the last person to be executed by guillotine in France, 10 September 1977

Hamida Djandoubi was the last person to be guillotined in France, at Baumettes Prison in Marseille. He died, headless on 10 September 1977.

The fearsome Guillotine machine!!!

The guillotine is a device used for carrying out executions by decapitation, consists of a tall upright frame from which an angled blade is suspended. This blade is raised with a rope, and the condemned's neck is positioned beneath it. The blade then falls rapidly, severing the head from the body. Death is instant.

Hamida Djandoubi, was a Tunisian immigrant who had been convicted of the torture and murder of 21-year-old Elisabeth Bousquet, his former girlfriend, in Marseille. Marcel Chevalier served as chief executioner.

Born in Tunisia around 1949, in 1968 Djandoubi started living in Marseille and working in a grocery store. He went on to work as a landscaper but had a workplace accident in 1971 that resulted in the loss of two-thirds of his right leg.

In 1973, a 21-year-old woman named Elisabeth Bousquet, whom Djandoubi had met in the hospital while recovering from his amputation, filed a complaint against him, stating that he had tried to force her into prostitution.

After his arrest and eventual release from custody during the spring of 1973, Djandoubi drew two other young girls into his confidence and then forced them to "work" for him.

Djandoubi deserved to be executed that way because in July 1974, he kidnapped Bousquet and took her into his home and in full view of the terrified girls, he beat the woman before stubbing a lit cigarette all over her breasts and genital area.

Djandoubi took her by car to the outskirts of Marseille and strangled her there.

On his return Djandoubi warned the two girls to say nothing of what they had seen. Bousquet's body was discovered in a shed by a boy on 7 July 1974.

One month later, Djandoubi kidnapped another girl who managed to escape and report him to police.

After a lengthy pre-trial process, Djandoubi eventually appeared in court in Aix-en-Provence on charges of torture-murder, rape and premeditated violence on 24 February 1977. His main defence revolved around the supposed effects of the amputation of his leg six years earlier which his lawyer claimed had driven him to a paroxysm of alcohol abuse and violence, turning him into a different man.

On 25 February 1977, he was condemned to death and at 4:40 a.m., 10th September 1977 he was executed by guillotining. He died as a headless man!!!!!

Other hardcore criminals executed by the guillotine in France were two child murderers Christian Ranucci (guillotined on 28 July 1976) and Jérôme Carrein (guillotined on 23 June 1977).

That is the story of Hamida Djandoubi, the last person executed via the fearsome guillotine in France.

Guillotine executions was abolished in France in 1981 following the election of François Mitterrand.

I AM AMANDA , IM 19 YEARS OLD & IM 2MONTHS+ PREGNANT WITH CALVEN CHIK FOO KEONG'S BABY & I'M STANDING UP FOR MYSELF NOW. I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE WITH ALL OF YOU OUT THERE HOW ABUSIVE MY HUSBAND IS BY BEATING ME UP TERRIBLY & HE HAD BEEN TORTURING ME. I'VE BEEN CRYING HYSTERICALLY, HAVING ABDOMINAL PAINS & TRAUMATIZED BY THIS EXPERIENCED. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THIS VIDEO HE WOULDN'T LET ME OUT FROM THE SHOP EVEN I WENT TO PRESS THE DOOR ACCESS. HE HAS PUT ME UNDER TREMENDOUS PRESSURE, HURT, PAIN & SUFFERING. I CANNOT ENDURE IT ANYMORE LONGER. I'M VERY TIRED OF LIVING THIS MISERABLE LIFE. I HAVE BEEN ACCUSED, SUFFERED FROM HUMILIATION, PHYSICALLY & MENTALLY ANGUISHED. HOW WILL YOU REACT IF YOU WERE IN MY POSITION & IT HAPPENED TO ONE OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBER?

Lihat bagaimana Warlord membelasah Jimmy Superfly Snuka.

Kasihan Amanda.

Habis cerita.
