A US Marine in Afghanistan
This is the real life story of a mysterious demonic giant bat that resembled an eeriely looking female humanoid . This is not a movie or a prank. This was aired by Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.
On January 25, 2002, United States Marine Forces in Afghanistan experienced sonar interference coming from a cave near Tora Bora, which screwed up their sonar cave-mapping system.
Believing it to be a jamming device built by the Taliban or Al-Queda, three U.S marines, corporals Sawyer and Wade, and sergeant Carlos Ramos, investigated the cave, using helmet cameras to record their mission, which was to find the source of the interference and destroy it.
As they ventureed deeper into the cave, they discovered large amounts of bats and guano all over the cave.
Corporal Wade walked into a booby trap and fell into a lower section of the cave, breaking his back.
As he lies there, he spotted something flying past. The others found him and he seemed delirious, and muttered that what he saw looked "like a lady" (possibly a reference to how most batlike cryptids are known to have eerily feminine features).
One of the remaining Marines shouted excitedly that a woman might be down there and can help them, but the other dismissed it as a hallucination.
The remaining Marines quickly reached his position and decided to investigate the signal first which was close to their position.
As they reached the source of the signal, the signal disappeared and reappeared at Wade's position.
Wade was then heard firing off his M4 carbine and screaming in pain. The two Marines rushed to his position only to find him dead.
The two Marines left Wade's body to find the source of the signal interference. They came across "a whole nest of them", as described by one of the Marines and are attacked by an entire swarm of the creatures.
It destroyed their flashlights as they fired their weapons at the creatures. A rescue party was sent in after the booby trap caused the team to lose radio contact with the base camp.
However the rescue party only found Ramos limping away from the cave and with a rare case of rabies. He was sent home and reunited with his wife and kids.
It was theorized that the Marines' gunfire somehow killed or wounded the creatures as they left the sergeant to leave the cave alive.
The bodies of Wade and Sawyer were never recovered.
In the footage, there were louder than average bat screams when the Marines were attacked. Wade's helmet camera also showed him from behind, held down by a giant brownish winged creature. The cryptid appeared attacking the Marines again; this time, it seemed to be hanging from the ceiling.
Fatalities caused: Two. Wade was attacked, killed, and even partially decapitated by an unknown flying creature. Sawyer's death was unknown. It's possible that the creatures themselves were killed as well...!!!

This "real-life" mystery was actually a "mockumentary" drama for the ANIMAL PLANET mini-series "Lost Tapes."
Though there are legends and anecdotes about encounters with humanoid bats in East Africa and certain South Pacific Islands, nothing has ever _genuinely_ been reported from Afghanistan.

You cant really say its not real or real until some one proves it so why doesnt a team investigate it? Unless it is really true......
I don't know, why would Marines come up with a hoax like this? I don't think they would, but I'm not sure the creature(s) could've survived that many rounds from a M4.... Maybe the bodies were eaten by the other creature(s). You can't be too sure.
cave demons could be real not all of the caves have been checked out, some of those caves can go on forever,so I belive cave demons do exist.

I was in afganistan in 2006-2007 and saw something I have never been able to rationalize. I was on a route recon patrol in the northwest region of the country (cant exactl remember where I was at the time) we were in a convoy of 3 trucks and I was in the turret on the lead vehicle. It was nightime and I had my NODs on basically just looking for anything along this road that looked out of the ordinary. Well i certainly saw something other than ordinary when about 500 meters in front of me in the middle of this desert road was a creature hunched over. My first thought was that it was an enemy placing an IED so I told the driver to stop the vehicle as whatever it was hadnt seen us yet ( we drove blacked out at night so we could operate undetected) anyways I tell my Patrol leader what I see up ahead and he tells me that we are just gonna observe it from the high ground and see what it is doing. I guess I should explain that with night vision something at 500 yards doesnt exactly appear crystal clear so I dont really know what this thing was doing but this is where it gets weird. The creature stands up on two legs and appears to be much larger than a common human spreads a pair of massive wings and takes off in the other direction. I know this would be more exciting had I fought the beast or something like that but it displayed no hostility and to my knowledge never even knew we were there. I'm not gonna speculate on what it was exactly but the locals in the area had folklore and superstisions involving vampires.
Anyways sorry for the most likely atrocious spelling, run-on sentences, and undeciferable grammatical errors - dont blame me I'm just a dumb grunt. If anybody has any insight or theories I would love to hear it.

u should look up Ahool its a human bat like crearture and ur not the only troop to have witnessed it i served two tours in Iraq and heard stories of the creature

i love it when civilians come up with bullshit stories and attach the militarys name to it. really people. if the guy broke his back hed be screaming. and where in the video does it show a batlike creature? and lets be honest. would the marines allow a helmet cam to be filming the mission brief? most importantly they wouldnt send 3 guys to track down a possible threat inside a cave. they arent sf. theyre just grunts like the rest of us. no one had any idea what could be jamming the signals so they would have assumed there would be a force of taliban in the cave.

You idiots. This video and story is from the Animal Planet show called Lost Tapes. It's a mockumentary show and it isn't real. I guarantee that no TV network would be allowed to get away with showing actual deaths on national television. The existence of the creatures is possible, but this story was written by ordinary writers over at Animal Planet hoping to scare people with the creepiness of the show. Plus, it even says at the beginning of EVERY episode that the following story was inspired by the possibility of the existence of the creatures. Also, the whole world would be in a widespread panic if the videos were real and showed actual real raw footage, because nobody would want to run into these creatures, and countless expeditions would be undertaken to find these creatures. But there weren't. These videos are FAKE.

Yeah I watched the video....totally a fake. Helmets cams during a pre patrol brief? No way... Only 3 marines to patrol a cave( a sgt and 2cpls at that) nope. Their gear dosent look like standard issue gear we all get either for infantfy units. Why would they leave a marine behind? To complete the misson I guess...yeah ok.(eye roll) And the worst mistake ever was made...the narrator called them soliders. Every military show ive ever watched that is credited never makes this mistake.the general publicmay buy this story,but I sure dont
Ratings. I love to think outside the box and think anything is possible. That way I'm not completely shocked if/when some crazy shit goes down. We as humans think we no everything and someday we might just have a wake up call. As far as the show goes though, as much as I hate to admit it, fake. The sad part is the world is becoming so fake that it's hard to tell what's true. From where I stand, if it's on the tv, probably false. Ratings, ratings, ratings.

I don't know if the story is real but I can verify this to anonymous know it all. I broke my back and I was in a similar state as that black guy and no I wasn't screaming. If anything the shock makes you feel hardly any pain at the time. It's later that the pain starts to really kick in

Why would they send three marines in? Why would the marines be wearing helmet cams? why would Ramos wife at the end say wades name? It was all actors. It isn't real. I searched on google for that little boy that was attacked by the giant bird two episodes ago, and found the original ad looking for three young skateboarders to play the parts. These are just as fake as family guy.

I seen one but it was in SW Colorado. It flew over the car, I asked around about it and other people started telling me their encounters.
