Sao Paolo Goalkeeper, Rogerio Ceni is better than some top class strikers in the world for he already scored 100 goals in all professional competitions.
Here, Ceni scored his 100th goal, a beautiful thunderous freekick from 30 metre in the 2-1 win against Corinthians at the Brazilian football league on Sunday, 27 March 2011.
Ceni struck a perfect right-footed shot over the wall, curling the ball into the top right corner past goalkeeper Julio Cesar in the 54th minute at the Arena Barueri.
"It was beautiful," said Ceni, who was the third goalkeeper in Brazil's squad when it won the 2002 World Cup.
"As a goalkeeper you don't enter the match thinking about scoring a goal, but it happened just as I wanted: with a free kick, deciding an important match. For me, it doesn't matter that it was against Corinthians, but for the fans it must have been important."
It was Ceni's 56th free kick goal, while the others came from penalty kicks.
FIFA says Ceni has 98 goals, but the goalkeeper counts two he scored in unofficial friendlies — one against a combined Santos and Flamengo in 1998 and the other against Russian club Uralan Elista in an exhibition tournament in 2000.
Even by FIFA's count, he is the goalkeeper with the most goals ever scored and even better than the famed Paraguayian goalkeeper,
Jose Luis Chilavert who scored 62 goals in his professional career.
Ceni's goal on Sunday also meant a lot for Sao Paulo, allowing the club to end an 11-match winless streak against Corinthians, the team's biggest rival. Sao Paulo hadn't beaten Corinthians since February 2007.
Rogerio Ceni's 57th goal!!!Ceni most memorable year as a footballer was in 2002 when he was a member of the Brazilian national squad that won the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan, beating Germany 2-0 in the final. Both goals scored by the legendary Ronaldo..
Ceni appeared 950 times for Sao Paolo.
Now, not everybody can do that, not even aliens in far away galaxies. Ceni proves himself as the best
attacking goalkeeper in the world!!!
Chilavert is a Football Legend in Paraguay. He saved and scored 62 goals in his gliterring professional career.
