Usahawan dan Pereka Fesyen Sabah, Datin Rahmahjan Sulaiman Khan menempa nama di Eropah dan Amerika Syarikat

Bermula sebagai hobi, kini mendatangkan hasil amat lumayan dan menembusi pula pasaran Eropah.

Itu kisah seorang usahawan wanita dari Sabah yang kini boleh berbangga apabila rekaan beg tangan dan bajunya, bukan sahaja mendapat sambutan di dalam negeri, malahan juga di eropah..

Individu dimaksudkan, Datin Rahmahjan Sulaiman Khan, 42 tahun, dilahirkan di Sandakan, Sabah.

Beliau kini boleh berbangga sebagai antara pereka fesyen paling berjaya di Malaysia.

Produk beg tangan, jenama J-Khan dan koleksi baju jenama “RJ coutoure” rekaan datin Rahmahjan, bakal menembusi pasaran fesyen di Paris dan juga London, selepas mendapat sambutan di Milan, Itali.

Namun, untuk sampai ke tahap dinikmati sekarang, bukan mudah.

Terpaksa menempuh pelbagai kesulitan.

Datin Rahmahjan, anak seorang pegawai polis, dulunya hidup susah setelah kematian kedua ibu bapa.

Dia terpaksa melakukan pelbagai pekerjaan untuk membiayai persekolahan 3 adik beradiknya.

Namun, minat dalam bidang rekaan fesyen, mengubah nasib keluarga itu.

Dengan kerjasama seorang penjahit pakaian warga Korea, Datin Rahmahjan mula berkecimpung sepenuh masa dalam rekaan fesyen baju sejak 4 tahun lalu dan rekaan beg tangan sejak 3 tahun lalu.

Koleksi pakaian “RJ Coutoure” dan beg tangan jenama “J-Khan”, mendapat sambutan luar dugaan.

Ini kerana fesyen rekaannya unik dan mempunyai tarikan tersendiri, yang sesuai untuk semua acara termasuk casual, sopistikated dan untuk bekerja,

Sekaligus mendorongnya membuka butik di Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur dan Singapura.

Januari 2010, rekaan fesyen baju Datin Rahmahjan, menyertai pertunjukan fesyen Milan di Itali dan mendapat sambutan di kota fesyen itu.

Mac 2011 lalu, koleksi beg tangan J-Khan dan pakaian, diperagakan dalam pertunjukan fesyen di Paris.

Menurut Datin Rahmahjan beliau ada cadangan untuk memasukkan motif tradisional kaum etnik Sabah iaitu Kadazan, Dusun dan Murut dalam beg tangan dan jika diperagakan di Paris, Milan atau London, maka semua orang akan tahu kaum Kadazan, Murut tu berasal dari Sabah.

Kini, koleksi rekaan beg dan fesyen baju rekaan Datin Rahmahjan sudah boleh didapati di Paris, Dubai dan juga Amerika Syarikat.

dimiliki dan berkualiti tinggi, rekaannya juga bagus dengan bahan menarik, ini sesuatu yang menarik bagi pereka fesyen Malaysia untuk memperagakan jenama di Paris.

Ketika ini, Datin Rahmahjan mahu memasarkan beg tangan rekaannya di pasaraya Harrods London, jika tiada halangan kelak dan dalam tempoh terdekat.

Jika berjaya, dia rakyat Malaysia kedua selepas Jimmy Choo (pereka kasut antarabangsa) yang berjaya memasarkan produk rekaan mereka di Harrods yang dimiliki jutawan Arab, keluarga Al-Fayed.



Datin Rahmahjan juga aktif sebagai ketua wanita Umno Tenom, Sabah dan sering memberikan bantuan kepada masyarakat di tenom yang memerlukan, termasuk di bulan puasa lalu Ramadhan 1432 Hijrah.

Pope Benedict XVI meets Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Monday 18th July 2011

His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI met Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak around 11 am local time on Monday, 18th July 2011 at the Papal summer residence at the Apostolic Palace in Castel Gandalfo, south of Rome, Italy.



This is the second such meeting between a Malaysian Prime Minister and His Holiness after the June 2002 meeting between the late Pope John Paul II and the then Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at the Vatican.



Accompanying Najib on Monday 18th July 2011 was a multi-faith entourage, including Ministers in the Prime Minister's Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon and Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, and Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Tan Sri Bernard Dompok who is a Catholic.

They were joined by National Fatwa Council chairman Professor Tan Sri Dr Abdul Shukor Husin and Malaysian Catholic Archbishop Tan Sri Murphy Nicholas Xavier Pakiam.

After the audience with His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, Najib subsequently met with the Holy See Secretary of State, His Eminence Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone who was accompanied by His Excellency Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, Secretary for Relations with States.

The Pope is the head of the Roman Catholic Church in the world and ruler of both Vatican City State and Holy See.

The Holy See is the universal government of the Catholic Church and operates from Vatican City State, a sovereign, independent territory of 0.44 sq km.

Pope Benedict XVI is the 265th and current Pope.



This event is seen as a major event for the 850,000 Catholics community in Malaysia to have their Prime Minister meeting the head of their church.

There is no doubt the Western world has begun to take note of Najib as a Muslim leader of reason and moderation and the visit certainly reinforces that.



Besides, Pope Benedict XVI is known as the “peace Pope” and a strong opponent of war and had unreservedly criticised the US-led invasion of Iraq, where he had said that “the damage would be greater than the values one hopes to save”.

The Pope, as one Catholic church official put it, meets a lot of people but meeting a head of state often assumes a bigger meaning.

“Not every political leader gets to meet the Pope, so those he meets, it is like a kind of implicit endorsement,” said the church official.



For instance, every one wants to meet US President Barack Obama but when the most powerful leader of the Western world met the Pope a year after he was elected president, he described it as “a great honour”.

It was that big, even for the US president and received massive play-up in the US media.

For the record, the Catholic church is the largest Christian grouping in the world with more than one billion members and it is among the world's oldest institutions.

The prime minister's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, accompanied her husband on the trip.

In the cordial conversations the positive developments in bilateral relations were discussed, and an agreement was reached to establish diplomatic relations between Malaysia and the Holy See.

In addition, the political and social situation in the world and on the Asian Continent was reviewed, with particular reference t the importance of intercultural and interreligious dialogue for the promotion of peace, justice and greater understanding between peoples.

After the meeting, The Star, Malaysia's top English newspaper reports that Malaysia has agreed to establish diplomatic ties with the Holy See aimed at promoting bonds of mutual friendship and strengthening international cooperation.

The link between Kuala Lumpur and Vatican allows the formation of relations at ambassadorial level on the part of Malaysia and at the level of Apostolic Nunciatune on the part of the Holy See.

The move follows the footsteps of other Muslim-majority nations such as Indonesia, Iraq, Iraq, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Jordan, Turkey, Egypt, Libya, the Arab League and majority members of the Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) that already established diplomatic ties with the Vatican.



Earlier, Najib was given a guard of honour and a red carpet welcome at the heavily guarded Castel Gandolfo, a small Italian town, south of Rome where the Pope spends the summer.

In the meeting with the Pope, Najib put forth his concept for a “Global Movement of Moderates” initiative to counter extremism of all forms.

He said as a multi-ethnic and multi-religious country, Malaysia has drawn on the values of moderation to ensure continued harmony, stability and prosperity.

Najib added that Malaysia was keen on sharing its experience with the world and that was why Malaysia was committed to forging links and alliances with like-minded countries to promote world peace and harmony.

“This is the main reason why Malaysia established diplomatic relations with the Holy See.

“The world is at the crossroads, the forces of irrationality and discord are threatening our long-cherished and hard-gained stability, and prosperity.

“What is worst is that certain quarters use religion to justify acts of terrorism,” he said.

Najib said Malaysia and the Holy See were committed to surmount such negative forces by employing the powers of reason and moderation.

Commenting on the significane of the visit, Jesuit Father Lawrence Andrew, editor of The Herald, a Catholic Weekly in Malaysia said:

“The significance is the recognition of Christians in Malaysia in a multi-racial nation, there’s always been that question whether we are recognised as a group and recognising the Vatican is a recognition of the Christians and therefore is an important step forward”.

“Once this happens of course the other Christians will benefit, and also I’m sure that when we are given this recognition there will be a necessity for the government to see a moderation. We hope that there will be this inter-faith development taking place”.

Malaysia, where Christians make up 9 percent of the population, was one of 16 countries without diplomatic ties with the Vatican.

While Islam is the official religion in Malaysia, the right to freedom of religion is enshrined in its Constitution.

There are about 850,000 Catholics in Malaysia, which has a population of 28 million.

In June 2002, then Malaysian Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad also had a meeting with the late Pope John Paul II at the Vatican.



The meeting was held to talk and discuss Muslim-Christian relations, in the aftermath of the worst ever terrorists attacks on the United States on September 11th, 2001, by Muslim Al Qaeda miliants.

After the meeting Tun Mahathir and Pope John Paul II exchange gifts, with Dr Mahathir giving Pope John Paul II a tiny gold carriage and John Paul II presenting Dr Mahathir with medals of his pontificate.

Mampukah Itali menang Piala Dunia 2010??

Pada Piala Dunia 1982, Itali bermula hambar apabila sekadar seri dalam 3 perlawanan kumpulan menentang Poland, Cameroun dan Peru...

Anehnya, Rossi gagal menjaringkan gol dalam 4 perlawanan pertama Itali, dia hanya meledakkan hattrick ketika Itali menewaskan Brazil 3-2 di suku akhir, 2 gol ketika menewaskan Poland 2-0 di separuh akhir dan 1 gol di final ketika menewaskan Jerman Barat 3-1.

Pada Piala Dunia 2010, Itali bermula hambar sekadar seri 1-1 menentang Paraguay... adakah sejarah 1982 bakal berulang??

The Italian jokes

An 18 year old Italian girl tells her Mom that she has missed her period for 2 Months. Very worried, the mother goes to the Drugstore and buys a pregnancy test.

The test result shows that the girl is pregnant. Shouting, cursing, crying, the mother says," Who was the pig that did this to you? I want to know!" The girl picks up the phone and makes a call.

However, if there is a miscarriage, what do you suggest we do?"

What happened after the 1970 world cup final??

The 1970 world cup was held in Mexico.

The final match pitted two, two-time World Cup champions, Brazil and Italy.

The final was won by the great Brazilian team, beating Italy 4–1. With their third World Cup triumph, Brazil were allowed to keep the Jules Rimet Trophy permanently.

The Brazilian team, featuring the likes of world greatest player - Pelé (who was in his fourth and final World Cup), Carlos Alberto, Clodoaldo, Gérson, Jairzinho, Rivelino, and Tostão.

This 1970 Brazilian team is regarded as the greatest attacking World Cup team ever.

They won all of their 6 games on the way to the title, and had also won all of their 6 qualifying games on their way to Mexico. This tournament saw the return of free-flowing, attacking play after the physical battles of 1962 and 1966, and is still considered by many fans to be the finest World Cup in history.

The Italians meanwhile are considered the team with the best defence in the world.

But in the end, the attacking fliar of the Brazilians prevailed.

But what happened after the final whistle was blown?? The entire Brazilian players were mobbed by supporters and fans. This resulted in players losing their jerseys, socks and football boots!!! Even the great Pele lost his prized jersey, and nobody knows where that Jersey is now!!!

In soccer, what will happen if the 5 time World Cup winners squares up against the 4 time World Cup winners???

Brazil the 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994 and 2002 FIFA World Cup Champions met Italy, the 1934, 1938, 1982 and 2006 FIFA World Cup Champions last night, at 2.30 am Malaysian time in the Confederations Cup in South Africa.

The end result, Brazil 3 - 0 Italy, with all the goals scored in the 1st half by the mighty Brazilians.

The last time Brazil and Italy met was in a friendly match in Wembley, England in February 2009 where Brazil prevailed in a 2-0 win.

This 2 great teams have met each other in 2 World Cup Finals in 1970 and 1994.

In the final in Mexico 1970, the greatest Brazilian team of all time led by Pele, Rivelino, Jairzinho, Tostao and Carlos Alberto outclassed Italy 4-1 in the final in one of the greatest ever match ever witnessed by the world.

Then Italy's star palyers, Luigi Riva, Roberto Boninsegna and Gianni Rivera were no match to the Brazilian firepower superattack.

In that 1970 memorable match, after leading comfortably 3-1, Brazil began playing exhibition football, to the delights of millions of football fans around the globe.

Brazil 4th and final goal was scored by Carlos Alberto.

The goal was dubbed the greatest ever goal ever scored in that tournament.

Carlos Alberto scored after a series of moves by the Brazilian team from the left to the center, where a total of 8 outfield Brazilian players passed the ball around before Carlos Alberto hammered the ball into the corner of the Italian goal following an inch perfect pass across the Italian 18 yard box from Pele.



In the 1994 World Cup final in USA, Brazil inspired by Romario and Bebeto prevailed again against the Azzurris.

Italy had the strongest defence in the world at that time with the legendary Franco Baresi together with Paolo Maldini and Alsesandro Costacurta, and their goal keeper -Gianluca Pagliuca. Their strike force was spearheaded by the current World player of the year Roberto Baggio aka the divine Ponytail.

After extra time, the score was dead locked at 0-0.

Despite relentless attack by Brazil, Italy's defence stood firm.

In the ensuing penalty shoot out - the 1st ever match to be decided that way in the history of the World Cup, Roberto Baggio shot the ball over the crossbar and Brazil was crowned champion of the world for the 4th time.

Back to 2009, in last night match, Brazil scored all 3 goals in the 1st half.

Had Brazil scored one goal less, or Italy scored one goal in that match, then Italy should qualify into the semifinal.

Instead it was United States, the team that was beaten 3-1 by Italy earlier who advanced.

It was magic.

Before the Brazil-Italy match, United States was virtually eliminated, having minus 5 goal differences and zero points.

But then Brazil beat Italy 3-0 and USA beat African Champion Egypt by the same margin.

That means USA, Italy and Egypt had the same points - 3 points. USA and Italy also shared the same goal difference - minus 2 but USA qualified by virtue of scoring more goals than Italy in the group stage.

And now, we are waiting for another dream match. The 5 time World Cup Champion - Brazil against the Euro 2009 champion - Spain...!!! Spain currently boasted a 35 matches unbeaten record!!!

After the match, Italy's captain and 2006 world player of the year, Fabio Cannavaro was consoled by Brazil's Kaka - the 2007 world player of the year. Both Cannavaro and Kaka and together with the 2008 world player of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo are now with the same club - Real Madrid!!!
