Call him crazy or insane, but he did it.

A carpenter in Holland, Johan Huibers, spent three years and more than £1million building a full-scale replica of Noah's Ark.

Now the gigantic wooden Biblical legend is opened to the public.

As many as 3,000 tourists a day can step aboard Johan Huibers' gigantic wooden boat in Dordrecht, in the Netherlands, which now boasts two cinemas and a restaurant alongside its menagerie of life-sized plastic animals.

Mr Huibers was inspired to embark on the ambitious project after having a dream in which he saw part of his native Netherlands submerged in a flood like the one featured in the Book of Genesis.

He became obsessed with bringing the story of the Ark to life, and in 2004 he built a half-scale version and floated it along the country's canals.

HOW LONG WAS A CUBIT? OR WAS IT HOBBIT?

Long before the metric or imperial systems came along, craftsmen in various parts of the world dealt in less precise units known as cubits.

As this was based on the length of a forearm, the exact value varies from one ancient civilisation to the next. It is most commonly defined as the distance from the elbow to the middle fingertip.

The Biblical cubit is generally thought to be about 18in, but Ancient Egyptian cubit rods measure closer to 20in.

Tourists flocked to see the smaller prototype when Mr Huibers opened it to the public, but the proceeds from admissions went straight back into funding his ambition to build a full-size ship.

The narrative of the ark, in which God commands Noah to prepare for a great flood sent to purge the world of evil, specifies that the boat was 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide and 30 cubits high.

Mr Huibers converted this ancient unit of measurement, which is based on the length of the forearm, to determine that his recreation had to be about 450ft long.

This puts the boat, nicknamed 'Johan's Ark', at more than half the length of the Titanic.

And though it may not be able to shelter two of every animal, as the original story dictates, it can hold 1,500 people - not to mention a menagerie of plastic creatures including giraffes, elephants and donkeys, as well as a few live chickens.

As it weighs in at almost 3,000 tons and is made from Swedish pine reinforced with steel, it may be hard to believe that the ark is, in fact, seaworthy.

It is docked in the western city of Dordrecht, where Mr Huibers, the owner of a construction company, pieced it together with the help of some friends and two of his children.

In the 15th century, the city was the site of one of the deadliest floods in history, named St Elizabeth's flood, which is thought to have claimed as many as 10,000 lives.

Thailand man, Chadil Duffy marries his dead bride-to-be

2012 is only 13 days old but we already have this undoubtedly the strangest story of 2012 thus far.

This is the ultimate story of True Love. A Thai man loves his girl till death.

A young man in Thailand has married his dead girlfriend and to him, there is no "Till Death Do Us Apart"!!

The man, Chadil Duffy, and longtime girlfriend Sarinya had agreed to marry, but before they had the chance, Sarinya died unexpectedly.

However, Duffy, intent on following through on his promise to his girlfriend of 10 years, last week invited many of his friends and family to a local temple in Surin province where he held a wedding cum funeral ceremony.

The oddly touching, yet inescapably macabre scene became an instant viral sensation in Duffy’s native Thailand, as news of the ceremony spread via YouTube and various social networking sites after Duffy posted pictures from the wedding on his Facebook account.

Well, to me, this is what we call TRUE LOVE.

Waterfalls flow upwards in extreme winds in Sydney, Australia, 20th July 2011

When 2 forces of nature collide, the result is amazing, unbelievable and supernatural.

In southern Sydney, Australia, waterfalls flow upwards and not downwards.

These bizzare and mind bogling event was not caused by odd gravitational malfunction or reverse gravity.

But extreme winds forced the natural waterfall downwards flow to be reversed upwards.

According to the BBC report on 20th July 2011, the winds have reached speeds of up to 75 mph, easily lifting spray from the falls into the air, and even causing passenger ferries in the area to be diverted.

Novak Djokovic plays Tennis at 10,000 feets above sea level..!!!

Novak Djokovic, the great Serbian is the current world no. 1 in men's tennis since July 2011.

He won 3 Grand Slam Titles > The 2008 and 2011 Australian Open and the 2011 Wimbledon Championship.

2011 is the year where Djokovic is unstoppable.

He was beaten only once in 48 matches winning 2 Grand Slam events > the 2011 Australian Open and the 2011 Wimbledon tennis championshiop.

In that amazing run, Djokovic also beat then world no. 1 Rafael Nadal, five times in a row in 5 different finals.

In 2011, Djokovic is also the winner in the Dubai Tennis Championship, BNP Paribas Open, Indian Wells, ATP World Tour Finals, SONY Ericsson Open, Serbia Open, Madrid Open and the Rome Masters.

His only loss in 2011 is in the French Open semifinal where he bowed out to 16 times Grand Slam winner Roger Federer.

Federer was then beaten by 10 times Grand Slam winner, Nadal in the French Open 2011 final.

Truck losses wheels in Russia

It is important that we bring a mini video camera with us whenever we travel outside our home because we will never know what will happen.

Who knows Superman suddenly appears out of nowhere, UFOs seen in the sky and a naked sexy lady walks past you??

In Russia, a mini video camera operated by a road user caught this sight of a truck losing its 2 tyres while on the road.

Luckily nobody was hurt in that unexpected incident.

One of the tyres can be seen travelling a good 80 metres before crashing onto the back of a stationary vehicle.

Maybe we can bet on that truck plat number, maybe we will strike 1st prize in the lottery??

Cave-in inside own house!!!

Picture this. A Cave-in occurs in your house without you realizing it!!!

We should be more alert even inside our own house. Not only thieves broke into one house nowadays, but natural disaster as well...!!



That is what Inocenta Hernandez, 65 from Guatemala City learned on July 19th, 2011after a sudden noise caused her to run outside her house, thinking there had been an explosion nearby.

What she didn't realize was that the root of the problem was deep inside her own home.

She returned to her house and found a gaping, three feet wide, 40 feet deep sinkhole, directly beneath her own bed. What a direct hit!!!

Hernandez, 65, was relieved that the damage was only to her house, and her grandchildren, who had been playing near the bed was unharmed.

This was a little too close to home, but she couldn't have been too surprised that a sinkhole had visited her city.



Guatemala City is prone to spawning giant pits, which are often caused by tropical rain storms. Sinkholes are natural depressions in the earth that can range anywhere from a few feet to hundreds of acres wide, and measure a shallow foot to 100 feet deep.

A massive chasm opened up in Guatemala City back in May 2010; it swallowed up whole buildings and an intersection. No deaths were blamed on the almost perfect cylindrical crater, though.

Meanwhile, a Texas-sized pit opened up in Daisetta, Texas in 2008. The sinkhole stretched 600 feet long and 150 feet wide; it sucked down a tractor, several telephone poles and an assortment of oil field equipment.

17-year-old Florida boy 'killed his parents with a hammer' before throwing a house party with their bodies still in bedroom

Tyler Hadley, of Port St Lucie, Florida, allegedly beat his school teacher mother Mary-Jo and father Blake to death with a hammer, which was found lying between their bodies.



This is no doubt one of the worst ever crimes ever committed in the 21st century.

This crazy boy needs to be locked up for the rest of his life or sent straight into the death chamber for the horrific and totally unspeakable crimes, committed against his own parents who raised him since birth.!!

A 17-year-old Florida boy 'brutally and mercilessly' killed his parents before having a house party while their bodies were still inside a bedroom, police said.

Tyler Hadley, of Port St Lucie, Florida, allegedly beat his school teacher mother Mary-Jo and father Blake to death with a hammer, which was found lying between their bodies.

The teen is thought to have killed his parents before hosting a party for 40 to 60 people on Saturday night, 16th July 2011 after posting invitations on Facebook.

The party started at around 9pm and went on until around 3am.

Police arrived at the ranch-style home the next day after an anonymous tip.

Hadley had been 'nervous and panicky,' they said and there were beer cans strewn all over the garden.

He initially lied and instead told police his parents were out of town.

Police then found the bodies of Mr and Mrs Hadley in the master bedroom where the door had been locked.

Blake Hadley was an employee of Florida Power & Light Co. and wife Mary Jo worked for 24 years as an elementary school teacher with the St. Lucie County School District.

They are believed to have died after the Facebook invitation went out, which happened at about 1:30 pm on Saturday, although the exact time of the brutal killing is unclear.

Their bodies were partially buried under various items including linen, books, picture frames and towels.

Mrs Hadley, 47, is believed to have been killed first and then Mr Hadley, 54, afterwards.

They were not, authorities believe, killed in the bedroom where their bodies were found.

While is not clear what the motive for the alleged killing was, a resident told WSVN News he had heard Hadley's parents had refused to let the teen have a party.

Similarly one of the teens attending the party said to WOKV that the 17-year-old killed his parents because they 'wouldn't let him throw a party.'

The teen is a bad hat and a spoiled brat.

First he dropped out of his high school and the family was being sued for US$15,000 after Hadley hit and injured a child while driving a car registered to his father in June 2010, according to court documents.

Hadley has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

He is being held without bond and will be charged as an adult, police said.

Tyler reportedly has an older brother who recently moved out the house.

The man came to his local police station in the southwestern city of Waiblingen, Baden-Wurttemberg saying that he had been sleeping on the sofa for the past four years to escape the clutches of his wife.

The couple has been married for 18 years and have two children together.

“Now he has decided to get a divorce and to move out… in the hope of finally getting some rest, particularly as he is anxious to arrive at work well rested,” police said in a statement.

“At the moment this is impossible because he says his wife keeps coming into the living room demanding that he perform his marital duties,” the statement said. “He asked for police help in getting some sleep at night.”

Deranged China man beats up wife in public

A sad day happened to a poor Chinese wife on July 4th 2011 around noon in the Zhejiang province Jinhua City on Hepanqiao Road, China.

A man went beserk and violently beat that poor woman who is his wife in full view of the public.

Nobody came to the poor wife's aid, no police came and none tried to intervene to stop the savage beatings.

First the mad and stupid and lack of education deranged husband elbowed down his wife, then he used his palm to repeatedly slap his already fallen wife’s face, continuing on to viciously kick her with his foot, and finally pulling his wife’s by her hair for several meters.

After raining punches and slaps on his helpless wife, the man satisfied his uncontrollabe anger while the poor woman cried profusely.

This man whom i should call the bastard stupid Chinaman from Anhui later told some people that they are from Anhui and have come out to work as migrant workers.

This devil husband said his wife wouldn’t listen, that in the process of applying for the job, they only needed one working certificate but his wife insisted on the two of them applying together, so he hit her.

Plain stupid and no education husband.!!!

A HIGHLY educated couple, in their 30s from Hubei, China, thought that the wife would get pregnant by sleeping on the same bed, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Prior to their marriage, the couple did not dare hold hands and kiss as they thought the woman would get pregnant by doing so, reported a China newspaper Chu Tian Jin Bao.

However, the couple decided to seek medical advice after the wife, who holds a masters degree, could not conceive.

They have been married for three years.

The doctor was shocked to learn about their “sex life”.
