Rest in Peace Amy Winehouse (14 September 1983 – 23 July 2011) she was only 27 years and 10 months, very young.

The Grammy awards winner died at a very young age just like other superstars who died young such as James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix.

Troubed British Singer Amy Winehouse, 27, has been found dead at her north London home, on Saturday afternoon, 23rd July 2011, according to media reports.

A London Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed that a 27-year-old woman had died in Camden and that the cause of death was as yet unexplained.

Later, Metropolitan police have confirmed the death Amy Winehouse.

Superintendent Raj Kohl said police were called to her home in North London on Saturday afternoon and found the 27-year-old's body.

Ms Winehouse was pronounced dead on the scene and police have informed her family.


Amy Winehouse known for her powerful contralto vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres including R&B, soul and jazz.

She began writing music at the age of 14.

She won 5 Grammy Awards including Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for her album Back to Black released in 2006.

Among her most popular songs include Rehab.

Rehab, the first track released from Back to Black, reached number seven in the UK singles chart.

The song, about her refusal to attend an alcohol rehabilitation centre, generated huge publicity, with Winehouse frequently being photographed drinking on stage and in pubs.



With her gravelly voice and eclectic style, Amy Winehouse, won comparison with some of the great female singers such as Sarah Vaughan and Nina Simone.

But like another great singer, Janis Joplin, she had a talent for self destruction, and fought a long battle against substance abuse.



London Ambulance Service said it had been called to the flat at 1554 BST and sent two vehicles but the woman died.

The troubled singer had a long battle with drink and drugs which overshadowed her recent musical career. She pulled out of a European comeback tour last June 2011.

On June 18th 2011, AMY WINEHOUSE pulled out of the European tour after she was jeered at the first gig in Serbia for appearing too drunk to perform.



For 90 minutes, she mumbled through parts of songs and at times left the stage - leaving her band to fill in.

It was her last performance in a concert.

Winehouse had won widespread acclaim, aged 20, with her 2003 debut album, Frank.

But it was 2006's Back to Black which brought her worldwide stardom, winning five Grammy Awards.

Lee Chong Wei hopes to win elusive world title at the 2011 World Badminton Championship in London

Malaysia's world no.1 men singles badminton player, Lee Chong Wei, 28 hopes to win the elusive World Championship title on his sixth attempt when the competition gets underway in London from August 8 to August 14th, 2011.

Chong Wei has won everything that the world badminton has to offer except the World Championship title and the Olympic Gold.

His best performance in the World Championship was a semifinalist in the 2005 edition in Anaheim, California, USA where he was beaten by eventual winner and 2004 Olympics Champion, Taufik Hidayat of Indonesia. Taufik is also Chong Wei's close friend.

His worst performance in the World Championship was the 2007 edition in front of his home crowd in Kuala Lumpur where Chong Wei lost in the 3rd round to Indonesia's Sony Dwi Kuncoro.

In the 2010 World Championships held in Paris, Chong Wei again lost to Indonesian ace Taufik Hidayat in the quarterfinals and attributed his loss to a back injury.

Chong Wei also lost in the quarterfinal stage in the 2006 World Championship in Madrid and the 2009 World Championship in Hyderabad, India.

Malaysia came close to winning the World Championship men singles title in 2003 but Wong Choon Han lost to Xia Xuanze of China in the final in Birmingham, England.

Chong Wei feels he has a better chance of winning the World Championship title this year compared with his five previous outings, since he has been preparing well for the competition and would also arrive in Bath, London two weeks before the tournament to prepare.

"I feel more confident. This year I have won all the Super Series titles that I competed, except the Korea Open, and that gives me additional confidence and edge over the others.

"The training in Bath will also be good for us to get acclimatised with the weather conditions," he told the Malaysian media in Kuala Lumpur on 20th July 2011.

Japanese man who raped and killed British teacher in Tokyo, jailed for life

Ichihasi lured a young 22 year old British teacher, Lindsay Ann Hawker to his apartment in Ichikawa, a suburban town east of Tokyo, on March 24th, 2007.

Ichihashi, now 32, had admitted raping and killing Hawker and stuffing her naked body inside a sand-filled bathtub on the balcony of his flat.

Despite a reward of 10 million Yen (£78,000) for information leading to his arrest and 8,000 reported sightings, Ichihashi evaded capture for two years and eight months.

The case attracted widespread media attention in Japan and Britain.

On Thursday, 21st July 2011, about 950 people lined up for 60 seats in Chiba district court's public gallery and witnessed the presiding judge, Masaya Hotta, sentencing Ichihashi to life in prison.

Lindsay Ann Hawker, 22, travelled to Japan in October 2006 to teach English after graduating from Leeds University.

Miss Hawker lived with a British flatmate in Tokyo (some said she lived with 2 other female teachers from Australia and Canada) and her employers said she took her job "very seriously" and "put every effort" into her new role.

Four days before the killing happened, Miss Hawker was approached by a 28 year old Japanese man known as Tatsuya Ichihashi, on her train journey home from work.

This evil man, Ichihashi is the son of a professional parent, his father a medical doctor while his mother a nurse.

It was reported that Ichihashi ran after her as she cycled home and asked for a glass of water when she arrived home.

Hawker had felt sorry for him and decided, as a precaution, to let him in to show him her two flatmates.


Once inside, Ichihashi took out a pen and paper and drew a picture of her, signing it with his name, telephone number, and e-mail address.

At some point, the pair agreed to meet for an English lesson four days later, on March 24th, 2007 at a cafe, which was something the Nova school allowed.

Miss Hawker had agreed to give Ichihashi a private English lesson in a cafe near her home on that fateful day.

What the poor girl didn't know was that Ichihashi had already hatched an evil plan to rape and kill her and was not interested at all for an English lesson.

The purpoted English lesson was just a decoy.

The court heard how he had persuaded her to follow him to his apartment by taxi after the lesson, claiming he had forgotten his wallet.

Why did Miss Hawker followed this evil man to his apartment?? If that evil man lost his wallet or forgotten his wallet, then it is his business to retrieve his damn wallet without asking others to follow him home.

Don't follow him. This tactics of pretending have long been used by hardcore criminals around the world.

Some rapists and murderers are known to pretend that they lost directions and 1,001 other reasons and needs your help and the rest is history. You are harrowingly dead or raped as soon as you follow him/them.


On March 24th, 2007, Miss Hawker was spotted on CCTV in the cafe where she gave an English lesson to Tatsuya Ichihashi.

She died soon after entering his apartment, the court ruling said on 21st July 2011, adding that there was no evidence for Ichihashi's claims that he had attempted to resuscitate her and called an ambulance.

"Shortly after he entered his apartment, the defendant administered strong blows to the victim, especially around her right eye," the ruling said. "He also assaulted other parts of her body and used tape to bind her to stop her resisting when he raped her."

Before entering Ichihashi's apartment in Ichikawa, Miss Hawker told a taxi driver to wait for her while she went into his flat.

The stupid taxi driver waited for seven minutes and then left after she failed to show up - a blatant disregard of human lives (it seems Tokyo taxi drivers only want money and they don't care if their customer(s) do not show up even after being told to wait!!! Tokyo Taxi Drivers don't care wether their customers are raped and murdered, all they want is money, money and money - Screw the insane and no-education Japanese taxi drivers).

If that stupid Tokyo taxi driver made an effort to check on Miss Hawker, she might still be alive today for she was screaming for help when attacked by the devil guy Ichihashi.

2 days passed and Miss Hawker's language school called her father to say she had missed two days of school that was supposed to be on 25th and 26th March 2007.

Her dead body was found naked in a sand-filled bathtub on the balcony of Ichihashu's flat, 2 days later by Tokyo Police.

How did the police eventualy came to Ichihashi flat??

Because Nova school reported Hawker missing at 2.30 pm on the 26th March 2007 to the Tokyo Police.

Media reported that two officers were dispatched, and reached Ichihashi's apartment, located on the 4th floor, at 5.40 pm. Sensing something suspicious, the 2 police officers called for back-up at 7.00 pm and within the next hour, seven more officers arrived.

Two hours after the nine officers had assembled outside, Ichihashi walked out of his front door, with a rucksack on and bare-footed.

Ichihashi then ran past the foolish and stupid 9 Tokyo police officers who not only failed to catch him but were also reportedly didn't bring any Walkie Talkie with them. (Japan is known as a wonder nation in terms of technology and yet they employ brainless and stupid police officers)!!!

Without walkie-talkies, those stupid and imbecile police officers on the fourth floor could not alert those on the ground floor.!!!

Ichihashi managed to escape by vaulting the last few feet of the stairways to the ground and later zig-zagging through the confusing Tokyo streets.

Ichihashi was only caught almost 3 years later or 2 years 8 months on 10th November 2009, in Osaka while attempting to board a ferry to Okinawa.

While on the run for 2 years and 8 months, Ichihashi, now 32, lived rough, even worked as a manual construction worker in Osaka without being recognised by any stupid Japanese and even resorting to plastic surgeries to change his ugly and evil appearances.

Meanwhile Miss Hawker's naked body was found buried in a sand and soil-filled bathtub on the apartment's balcony. She had been bound and gagged with plastic ties and scarves, with one of her hands lying outside the mixture.

Post-mortem results showed she died of suffocation and suffered multiple injuries.

Prosecutors said she was strangled to death by Ichihashi after being raped.


Miss Hawker's parents Bill and Julia and sisters Lisa and Louise at her funeral on April 26, 2007.

Hundreds of mourners, including the Japanese ambassador Yoshiji Nogami, gathered to pay their last respects.


Miss Hawker's family travelled to Japan to help police track Ichihashi down. They handed out thousands of leaflets to commuters and a reward was offered for his capture.



The family returned to Tokyo on the second anniversary of her death. They launched life-size talking cut-outs of Ichihashi to raise the profile of the manhunt.


The Hawker family travelled to Chiba for the start of Ichihashi's trial and were there for the verdict.



Ichihashi was jailed for life for the rape and murder of the 22 year old.

During his trial Ichihashi testified that Miss Hawker accidentally choked to death after he gagged her to silence her screams. He claims he tried to revive her after she stopped breathing.



In sentencing the evil man on 21st July 2011, Judge Masaya Hotta said he had showed no respect for Miss Hawker's life and committed a "heinous" crime.

"The victim was raped, with her dignity violated and life taken away while going through unbearable pain. At the age of 22, her future was taken away," he said.

"He raped her to satisfy his sexual desire, then tried to cover up the rape by killing her," said Masaya Hotta, in a packed courtroom. "He then attempted to conceal the murder by abandoning her body. The crime was inexcusable and savage.

In a book published from prison titled Until I Was Arrested, Ichihashi detailed his time on the run, calling the account "a gesture of contrition for the crime I committed".

He also expressed a desire to give any royalties earned through the book to the Hawker family. They have rejected the offer.

Bill Hawker had asked the court to show "no mercy" to Ichihashi and called for the death sentence, the maximum punishment for murder under Japanese law.



Flanked by his wife, Julia, and their two daughters, Louise and Lisa, Hawker thanked his family, the British and Japanese police, and the members of the public who reported the sighting that led to Ichihashi's arrest in Osaka as he waited to board a ferry to the southern island of Okinawa.

"I would also like to thank the Japanese people," Hawker said. "We would not have got this far without everyone's help."

Clutching a photograph of his daughter, he fought back tears as he said: "Lindsay loved Japan, and you have not let her down. Thank you."

In Russia, a mini video camera operated by a road user caught this sight of a truck losing its 2 tyres while on the road.

Luckily nobody was hurt in that unexpected incident.

One of the tyres can be seen travelling a good 80 metres before crashing onto the back of a stationary vehicle.

Maybe we can bet on that truck plat number, maybe we will strike 1st prize in the lottery??

On Saturday 16th July 2011, Liverpool, the 5 times European Champion and 18 times English Premier League champions, trashed the Malaysian national side, 6-3 in a friendly match at the national Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

The Malaysians were hammered 0-4 by Arsenal a few days earlier.

The Malaysians who have never qualified into the world cup final were handed a sound beating by the Reds, The 2005 King of Europe and the Pride of Merseyside.

Mind you, the scoreline will be much bigger had Liverpool's manager Sir Kenny Dalglish and top striker Luis Suarez joined the Reds in that match.

Dalglish was away in England finalising the signing of Stuart Downing while Suarez, the Uruguyan international striker was involved in the 2011 Copa America in Agentina.

Coincidently, the match was held at the same time when Malaysia's Prime Minister, Najib Razak was away in London. Najib is an avid Manchester United fan.

Charlie Adam, who joined from Blackpool early July 2011, made his starting debut for Liverpool and was at the heart of the team's first-half attacking moments. He scored with a twice-taken penalty in the 24th minute.

Malaysian captain and dead ball specialist, Shafiq Rahim equalized near halftime with a superb free kick.

The half time ended 1-1.

Liverpool assistant manager Steve Clark made 11 substitutions at the break.

7 goals were scored in an astonishing final 28 minutes of the game.

Liverpool's duo David Ngog and Maxi Rodriguez both scored twice with Dutch international Dirk Kuyt adding the other goal for the visitors in the 93rd minute.

Ngog who came on for Carroll put Liverpool ahead in the 67th minute, taking advantage of a defensive lapse to knock the ball home from close range beating Malaysia's top goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.

If his first goal had an element of luck, the second was a beauty — Ngog blasting the ball into the net while on the run two minutes later.

Maxi Rodriguez, the Argentine international made it four for the Reds in the 74th, coming in from the right to convert a cross from Emiliano Insua.

Malaysia's top striker, Mohamad Safee Mohamad Sali, was a reserve as he was carrying an injury.

But he came on in the last 20 minutes of the game to make it 4-2 in the 79th minute after added another goal two minutes later.

Rodriguez, however, nodded the ball into the net in the 90th minute from close range off a cross by Kuyt.

In the 93rd minute, Kyut final burst through the defense in injury time scored the last and 6th goal for the five-time European champions.

Liverpool defeated China's Guanghong Sunray Cave 4-3 earlier on Wednesday 13 July 2011.

Meanwhile Malaysia earlier lost 0-4 to another English giant, Arsenal at the Bukit Jalil stadium.

So in 2 matches in Asia, Liverpool scored an impressive 10 goals but the Reds' leaky defence conceded 6 goals.

This kind of mistakes must not happen in the top flight of British football if Liverpool wants to be champions of England and Europe again.

"We still have a lot of work to do. It's early in the preseason and the players are not quite sharp yet," Liverpool assistant coach Steve Clarke said. "It was a great game and the Malaysian boys were very aggressive but fair.

A sad day happened to a poor Chinese wife on July 4th 2011 around noon in the Zhejiang province Jinhua City on Hepanqiao Road, China.

A man went beserk and violently beat that poor woman who is his wife in full view of the public.

Nobody came to the poor wife's aid, no police came and none tried to intervene to stop the savage beatings.

First the mad and stupid and lack of education deranged husband elbowed down his wife, then he used his palm to repeatedly slap his already fallen wife’s face, continuing on to viciously kick her with his foot, and finally pulling his wife’s by her hair for several meters.

After raining punches and slaps on his helpless wife, the man satisfied his uncontrollabe anger while the poor woman cried profusely.

This man whom i should call the bastard stupid Chinaman from Anhui later told some people that they are from Anhui and have come out to work as migrant workers.

This devil husband said his wife wouldn’t listen, that in the process of applying for the job, they only needed one working certificate but his wife insisted on the two of them applying together, so he hit her.

Chinese netizens users Weibo are also suspicious and wondered wether she misused or embezzled Red Cross of China donations which are supposed to go to charities.

According to the official Xinhua news agency, last year in 2010, Chinese citizens donated 70 billion yuan (USD$10 billion) to charities compared with 54 billion yuan in 2009.

JOHOR BARU, Malaysia : A technician's hopes of going on a free trip to Europe after winning a Reader's Digest competition were dashed when the magazine failed to award him the prize.

Zul Iskandar Kasan, 30, claimed he bought RM7,500 worth of books and CDs from the company a requirement to enter the competition.

“I received a letter from the magazine along with a catalogue asking me to order some of the items to win attractive prizes, including an all-expenses paid trip to Europe.



“I was lured by the attractive prizes and I bought the books and CDs to win them,” he told the Consumer Claims Tribunal here.

Zul Iskandar said he received several letters informing him that he had won a travel package to Europe, more than RM100,000 cash and other prizes.

“When I did not see my name printed in the magazine's winners' list, I tried calling them a few times demanding an explanation,” he said.

Tribunal president Siti Naaishah Hambali ordered Reader's Digest to refund RM6,600 to Zul Iskandar within 14 days of the award being served on Reader's Digest in Kuala Lumpur.

Sabah recorded a trade surplus of 40.5 % in 2010

KOTA KINABALU, July 5, 2011 (Bernama) -- Sabah recorded a trade surplus of 40.5 per cent in 2010 compared to the year before in 2009, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said today 5 July 2011.

He said export of merchandise grew by 17.39 per cent to RM43.62 billion, while imports increased by 7.5 per cent to RM27.9 billion.

"Sabah's total trade in 2010 accounted for 6.1 per cent of Malaysia's total and this is is a positive transformation after the economic downturn in 2008," he said at the Malaysia International Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) Sabah Annual Luncheon in Kota Kinabalu.

The text of his speech was delivered by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai.

Musa said in the first quarter of this year, total trade amounted to RM18.9 billion with exports amounting to RM11.8 billion, in which 82.6 per cent was contributed by palm oil, crude petroleum, palm kernel oil, plywood and methanol, while imports amounted to RM7.1 billion.

He also noted Sabah's tourism sector continued to perform positively with the state registering an increase in visitor arrivals by 12.5 per cent reaching 870,197 in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year.

"We are confident of growth in the tourism sector and expect five million tourist arrivals and a yearly receipt of RM8 billion by 2015," he said.

Meanwhile, Musa said the state government was commited to address global concerns over a changing climate by taking positive steps to contribute towards environmental sustainability.

Among the state government initiatives, he said, was to venture into renewable energy by building a RM280 million biomass plant with a South Korean firm at the Lahad Datu Palm Oil Industrial Cluster scheduled for commissioning by late next year.

"The plant will use vast quantities of palm oil waste for energy generation, helping us reduce greenhouse gas emissions while increasing power supply in the state.

"Turning biomass into energy makes perfect sense and will help position our state as one that truly cares for the environment," he said.

Zoo raid shocks visitors in Kulaijaya, Johor

Incidents of a Zoo being raided by the authority is a rare occurance in Malaysia.

In Kulaijaya, Johor, tourists visiting the Saleng Zoo were shocked to find officers from the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) raiding the premises.

20th June 2011 or Monday's operation marked the second day of the department's seizure of the animals which is expected to last a week.

Johor Perhilitan director Saharudin Anan said the operation, had been smooth.

“We have a veterinarian here at all times, who will tend to the animals and even accompany them during transport to their designated rescue centres in Malacca Zoo and Paya Indah Wetlands,” he said.

He added that animals seized yesterday included tigers, snakes, crocodiles, ostriches, wild boars and porcupines.

Saleng Zoo owner Chai Sit Yee said he had not received a reply to his appeal against the department's decision not to renew its operating permit.

“It is not that we are not willing to make improvements as suggested by the department such as expanding the animal enclosures and hiring more vets and staff.

“We just need a bit more time,” he said.

Senai assemblyman Ong Kow Meng, who visited the zoo yesterday, described the department's actions as “gross abuse of power”, adding that it was not proven that the zoo had violated the Wildlife Conservation Act.

Ong said he would help the zoo owners appeal and return the animals back to Saleng Zoo.

The Saleng Zoo has been operating since 1996 and, according to zookeeper J. Sivapriyan, hosts more than 2000 animals of 60 different species.

Singaporean businessman Terrence Wong, 45, who was with his family, said he had been to the zoo before.

“I thought that it looked quite well-maintained,” he said, adding that the animals appeared to be active and healthy although their enclosures were slightly small.

Indonesian Ronny Lie, 30, said he and his family had been looking forward to visiting the zoo as it was more convenient than travelling to the Malacca Zoo.

Frequent visitor Monaliza Mat Tahir, 33, said she was saddened by the officers' actions as she often came to feed the animals.

“I am very attached to the animals,” she said, adding that she hoped the authorities would reconsider their decision.

Another visitor V.S. Kumar, 56, questioned if the department could ensure that the animals would be well-treated during their transportation.

“What if the animals get hurt or die on the journey? Who will be responsible then?” he asked.
