Hannah Yeoh is among Malaysia's most beautiful politicians. At the young age of 29, she was elected as the State Assemblyman for N.31 Subang Jaya, Selangor defeating Ong Chong Swen from MCA, a Barisan Nasional, BN component party in the March 8th, 2008 Malaysian general election. Despite her first ever political debut, she polled a handsome 13,851 majority votes over her opponent. Hannah is also the State Treasurer for DAP Selangor.

At first sight, this petite and attractive lady, will surely attract the attention of men.

But sorry guys... She is happily married to Ram.

During the early days of 2011, 4th January 2011 to be exact, media reported that Kedah Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang has received a rain of fire for his internet posting that made an inappropriate remark about Hannah Yeoh's pregnancy.

Gerakan has been urged to take action against Tan Keng Liang for a purportedly sexist Twitter message he relayed about Hannah who is pregnant.

DAP wanita chief Chong Eng said Gerakan needed to act "to stop this kind of insulting remark to women and to families".

Tan Keng Liang, in his tweet, had asked if voters in Subang Jaya would vote for the MCA candidate there or for Yeoh who he said was going on maternity leave.

"The statement shows gender discrimination of the highest degree," said Chong Eng who is also Bukit Mertajam MP.

She noted that women were already challenged by discriminating employers who preferred to have men or unmarried women.

She also said MCA should make a stand with civil society calls for Gerakan and Tan to apologise to Yeoh and women folk.

Meanwhile, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng noted that Chong Eng herself was pregnant when she was an assemblyperson in Penang in the 90s, and still performed to the best of her abilities, even getting herself re-elected.

"Hannah is doing her duties as an assemblyperson. We are outraged at the remark about her which is hitting below the belt. It is a disgusting attack against a pregnant woman," he said.

"It shows disrespect to women. Gerakan should apologise, not just to Hannah but all pregnant women."
